    Thank you sir. I watched a lot a videos on this subject before I found yours. Everybody else left off at least three critical details that you included and explained very well. When you are giving directions you cannot leave out even one single detail. Some people can fix things, but only truly intelligent people can explain how to fix things well enough to actually teach others.

    Well . . . I got the inside panel off the door . . . plus the speaker and latch rod . . . took one look and decided to go get a doughnut and cup of coffee. Found your video on how to finish up the job . . . and just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I am very mechanically inclined . . . so I would have figured it out . . . but you probably saved me an hour . . . plus I got to eat my doughnut in peace. Thanks . . . may God bless.

    My rear driver side window was down on my 05 Liberty renegade and wouldn’t roll up. I found the tab on that plastic piece that moves the window broke off. Your video walked me through taking the door panel off and finding that out. I ordered that piece and when it gets here I’m going to replace it. Ordered the piece for 10 bucks. Appreciate the video! Without your help I would have taken it to a shop where who knows how much I would have spent

    Thank God for you and this video! It took me about 1.5 hours to remove the old regulator and 45 minutes to install the new one. New one cost $54 on Amazon (though there were cheaper options). I had to rewatch some sections but your instructions (and doing it one handed while filming!) were extraordinary! I had some trouble unclipping the door handle mechanism and was concerned when my original regulator had an extra cable off of the one end - apparently not an issue! It took a little time to get the new regulator inside the door properly. Just took some patience. Thanks again!

    Thanks for posting this DIY, very helpful! My door regulator motor was fine, the metal clip had come off the window guide clip and I was able to get a zip tie around the clip to hold it in place. Saved me $100 for the kit at O’Reillys. Thanks again!

      Hi Peter...can you explain further what you mean by "zip tie around the clip"? Before I order the part I will reopen the door panel now that this video explains how to remove the motor and regulator.

    • @PeterMarshall1969
      @PeterMarshall1969 3 роки тому +2

      @@sallybeck4783 in my situation, the motor worked fine. The window had just popped out and fallen within the door. There is a clip attached to the bottom of the window and there is a metal stud that pops into the plastic guide that holds the window to go up & down. I was able to get a zip tie around that particular connection so that it doesn’t pop out again. Hope that helps!

      @@PeterMarshall1969 I know your comment was 3 years ago, but this is just the answer I was looking for. As the ball keeps popping out of my neighbors plastic clip and I just couldn't figure how to rigged this up, since the regulator is new. I'll try this. Wish I had a visual of what you did though.

Things for me were exactly as you said (and showed) they would be. Excellent, complete, professional, and right to the point! Bravo! BTW - we have a 2005 Jeep Liberty - It was the right rear passenger window that went, and we got the part from Amazon for around $50. Nothing else needed.

    Well done video ! Mine failed because of the regulator you showed was stripped out and the cable was left hanging. eBay had it for $6.70. Screwing metal into plastic another genius idea, surprised it lasted as long as it did . Make sure when you go back together with it, that you get the pin in the regulator firmly and push the clip in all the way where it holds the window. I also greased the regulator track and soaked the inner cable with PB blaster and it freed right up . Try it several times before putting your plastic barrier cover and panel back on .

    When searching for a replacement regulator I've noticed that there are two different designs for the Liberty. There is this design with the cable and then there is the coil in a plastic tube design. They appear to be interchangeable as long as the replacement has the correct sliding bracket that attaches to the glass. I'm not sure if one design is superior over the other as they both do break.

    • @stansmad
      @stansmad 5 років тому +1

      My liberty 2002 3.7 has the coil in a plastic tube. Mine was broke off the plastic slide bracket. Once I got the new bracket I sprayed Panther Piss (PB Blaster) inside the coil tubing and it freed right up after plugging the motor back in and pushing window button up down several times. Then I could screw the cable back in the bracket. :>)

    Kelley Harden for whatever reason I am unable to answer your comment directly. I was going to ask if you have a new regulator ready to install or if you are just trying to disassemble first to diagnose? You should have the locking clip in your year of Jeep. If you have a new regulator inspect the new regulator to see what you need to remove the clip.

    Wonderful video, I think even I could do this.
    I've got two windows that have fallen. I've actually had one side repaired once before, and have had a quote for the second.
    I will be trying to do both of them myself. My question is, if there noise from the motor, will the whole assembly have to be replaced or should it be something much simpler

      Robert Hausen I would recommend replacing the assembly. The noisy motor could be just a motor issue but could also be caused by something in the regulator assembly. Because of how commonly there are issues with the assembly it is best to just do it all.

      @@YourCarGuyDR Yes thank you very much. I agree , If im in there anyway it 's better to just replace it all. Thanks for your reply!!!!

    So this is a shot in the dark (and could possibly sound stupid) but I can’t find that little clip to drop the regulator?

    Hi there,
    My 2003 Jeep Liberty rear window came off track. The motor still works I can hear it when trying to raise or lower window but the window just doesn't move. The window did drop down about three inches from the closed position. I can push it up with my hands to close, but it eventually drops open by 3 inches. Not sure of the extent I will have to go to fix. I don't want to put money into repairing thru a mechanic.

      Change the regulator and it will fix your issue.

    Your jeep is my jeep 💯, a tree jumped behind me now the dent behind the tire caused my hatchback window refusing to close 😭 do you have anything on that cause I don't have 1200 dollars.

      You will need to remove the interior panel of the hatchback and then from inside push the metal back into place so the glass can latch.
