'Soldier on' is about courage. It’s an ode to anyone who dares to stand out, and claim their place in this fear-ridden world we’re living in. If the music video is a bit confusing you can take a look at one of the live versions of the song. Here's a link of the home recorded version: ua-cam.com/video/uXxvwQZZSO4/v-deo.html If you guys like Di-rect and Kensington you should check out the live performance(covers) of these bands together at vrienden van amstel live.. ua-cam.com/video/yFv2TPZag5w/v-deo.html
It's pretty cool you guys exploring the Dutch artists;). In some way the Dutch invented America, especially the multi-cultural part. Our "Sinterklaas" was in New York (when it was New Amsterdam) before there even was a santaclaus. The fat santaclaus (and half-America) was designed by Coca Cola. Your declaring of independance is modelled after Dutch example. There's a lot of history between America and the Netherlands...
Like the ‘Dutch Tour’ guys! Marcel, the lead singer of this band wasn’t the first lead singer of the band. Their first lead singer went solo and the new lead singer, Marcel, was chosen by a contest on Dutch TV. The band also went a bit in a different direction because of this, because Marcel was a totally different singer/artist.
Great reaction guys.. DI-RECT had also a quarantaine version of this song. The singer is Marcel Veenendaal one of the best singer in the Netherlands. Check also devil don't care from DI-RECT Maybe you like Kensington with Sorry also
Remember Tim from beste Zangers who did a version of Nemo? He used to be the singer of this band. Please react to one of their older songs that include Tim. I suggest: Inside My Head or Just the Way I do.
Thanx for your reaction guys. I enjoy them every morning when I wake up. You make my day starts with a smile on my face. Check out "All in Vain" from Di-rect
Direct and Kensington are the two best rock-bands in the NL. Within Temptation is also moving from metal to rock. So these 3 bands are top of the bill in the land of rock. The first two have male singers, WT has a female singer, almost as good as Floor.
Personally the best song of Di-rect is "All in Vain de duif sessions", it's amazing and oh so beautiful. And also a great band from the Netherlands is Kensington, you definitely have to listen to them also.
The lead Singer is incredably tallented. When we had ouer 75 year freedom and remabrence days. (From world war 2) He sang this verry hard song. Here is the link, his voice realy Comes to it's right there ua-cam.com/video/DbXvEWxpKRc/v-deo.html Another dutch Artist called Wende did an really pouwerfull french song called au souvant in "de Dam" to. I think you would really like it, it's verry explosieve. It only had dutch subtitles thow but if you are intrested, than i'm happy to translate for you guys
This is the new singer of direct..... The first one was Tim Akkerman, after Tim left the name di-rect and the music has never been the same! Try the older di-rect songs
Hi guys, Marcel Veenendaal, lead singer of Di-Rect is a wonderful singer. The song is about that everyone carries their crotch and their own luggage with them. Perhaps you like to expand your Dutch horizon with another great Dutch band named Kensington. I personally love their song Sorry! If you find the time I would appreciate you guys to react to it. I put the link here of their official music video. 💕🤘 ua-cam.com/video/ZoQO7e2THIw/v-deo.html
I'm sorry but Kensington is nowhere near the best bands. For uninspired, boring stadium rock maybe. I do have to admit their last album thankfully sounds different than their previous two. At least they're evolving..... If you want a tast of current Dutch Rock check out Indian Askin (pop, rock, punk), Moss (poprock), Racoon (not really my cup of tea but they are good), Claw Boys claw (these guys have been around for decades already) or de Staat (probably one of the more innovative bands around atm)
Hello boys. Can you please tell something about yourselves. How old, where are you from, what work or school. One other thing is that your younger brother has to come closer to the microphone. Greetings
nice reacion guys this was not tim akkerman this was another singer a great song, here you have a live song with tim akkerman Di-rect - Inside My Head ua-cam.com/video/jbPMMZxrWF8/v-deo.html
I thoroughly enjoy this song, though I personally prefer DI-RECT as it was in the early 2000's. They've changed their lead singer in 2009, from Tim Akkerman to Marcel Veenendaal. Their style changed too, from that point onward, from a more rock (and occasionally (pop)punk) style, to, well, this. And as good as this song is, I just prefer their older, rawer style. To really drive home the difference, try listening to (old, Tim Akkerman fronted) DI-RECT's "Rollercoaster". That is pretty much the furthest away you can get from this song within DI-RECT's oeuvre.😅 For a more representative idea of what the old DI-RECT was like (since "Rollercoaster" is, as I said, pretty much on the extreme end of their combined works), you might try "She", "Don't Kill Me Tonight", "Inside my head" or "Hungry For Love". Or "Adrenaline" for what may well be the strongest early 2000's vibes you'll ever get from a song. 😂

Their first singer was Tim Akkerman who you might know from "Beste Zangers 2019" i.e. singing Shallow with Floor Jansen (from Nightwish)
Thanx for your reaction guys. I enjoy them every morning when I wake up. You make my day starts with a smile on my face. Check out "All in Vain" from Di-rect

I saw them live a few years ago during a festival in my town ... and they ROCK!! They are so good live.
