Our Indian Visa Saga In Kathmandu | Van Life Nepal | The Hippie Trail #61

- As we wanted to return to India after Nepal, we had to apply for a new Indian visa in Kathmandu.
This turned out to be easier said than done, in total we had to wait thirty (30!) days before we had this visa in our hands....
Luckily there is a lot to do in Kathmandu and we were lucky enough to stay in a nice neighbourhood with a strange name: Pepsi Cola.
And during the last few days of our stay in Kathmandu, we had one more attraction to tick off: Swayambhunath, or sometimes called the Monkey Temple.
Enjoy this one and... be kind, always!

what on earth, its 2024 and it took 30 days for them to have Indian visa . that's not possible.
thank you for visiting Nepal . Hope you had a great time . Best wishes for the upcoming trips guys.
'Thanks' to the Indian bureaucracy we were able to experience the Kathmandu Valley at a (leisurely) pace 😉.
I watch your vlogs.Nepali man living in Antwerp. Its inspirational and good to see you guys going around in Nepal and experiencing Nepal among others. Thanks for the positive words mostly :)
Thank you for watching, many more experiences in Nepal to come!
aww!! Such a Happy couple enjoying life at fullest!❤
Thank you 🙏!
You guys are amazing! Lots of love from the Katmandu City.
Thanks a ton
i don't know if u guys heard about what happened to the brazilian vlogger in india..just saying..be careful out there
Yeah, we heard about these guys, sad story, don't know where they found the stamina to continue to travel...
Thanks for watching 🙏!
@@AFlaneursQuest Even during the 10 year civil war no tourists were harmed in Nepal.
@@KarmaTiwari-ig5yl that's correct, but we remember it was not always easy travelling during those days...
@@AFlaneursQuest but tourist were more safe than others.
I don't believe that couples story at all....how come a women gang raped by 7 people took 12000$ as a compensation and went on to the tour as if nothing has happened....this case was so much highlighted in social medias as if 12 million tourist who visit India are raped everyday...that was a huge scam...no one is allowed to visit tribal area without permission of local government and that couple did...and where are they touring now....I mean $12000 in not a small sum
Looking forward to your Pokhara vlog! Was waiting for it since I discovered your channel. Well, the journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara isn't really great but I wish you guys safe travel and enjoy yourselves x
Very soon! First a vlog on the road to Pokhara, then another one of Begnas Lake, and then two vlogs about Pokhara!
Excellent video again!!!
Thank you 🙏 😊!
Thank goodness finally you managed to get visa to India. So happy for you guys. Drive safe and be safe in India and be vigilant all the time of your belongings. Don’t trust anyone. Don’t go alone . Always be together. Don’t keep your expensive belongings in your van. ❤😊
This time it will only be a whirlwind visit to India...
Heartly Welcome to Nepal, Mr. Everest. Enjoy ❤
We will, thank you!
Thank you for visiting our country 🤩🇳🇵be safe and happy
Our pleasure!
Thankyou for visiting Nepal ❤❤
Our pleasure!
Election season up ahead in India...
So there's that...
Also the borders can be locked up completely at different dates/times,
as several Indian states that surround Nepal have different election dates.
Your visa, was most likely be approved after central(Delhi)'s approval.
We will probably be gone before the elections start!
See u soon hope u enjoy ur trip in nepal safe travels lots of love 💖 from nepal
Thank you for watching 🙏!
Looking forward to your upcoming video of Pokhara 🥰
Two videos in the pipeline 😁!
It was nice to see you in Pokhara. Sorry you had to wait so long for an Indian visa. Safe travels🙏🏽
Was easy to fill our days in the Kathmandu Valley!
🌷🌷🌷
We really enjoyed this one. Thanks.
Have you considered visiting Korea?
It might be a fun detour.
My partner says she would love to go shopping with Ann.
Mmm, Korea is pretty hard to reach overland, and also an expensive odyssey to get there in the first place...
U can visit south India u can see variety of different foods temples heritage and culture especially Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,ap, Hyderabad it's amazing Kerala, munnar, kochi, wayanad, Ooty, coimbatore, manglore, Gokarna, Coorg, Bangalore, Mysore, Alleppey, Udupi, Chennai, Karnataka, Kodaikanal
Most of these places we already visited in our backpacking days or last year with our van, this time it will be only a whirlwind visit before crossing into Pakistan!
already looking forward to your Pokhara vlogs
Very soon 😊!
Your videos make me want to visit Nepal again.
Nice to read this! Hopefully one day!!!
Enjoy wish god bless you,,🍀🍀
Thank you! You too!
keep upt love from 🇳🇵🇳🇵
Thank you so much ❤!
In Kathmandu how was your experience with taxi, I could recommend you to use PATHAO or INDRIVE (like Uber). Its cheaper and no bargaining😀.
Avoid Taximandu, we solely used Pathao, very convenient!
take care in india...🙏
We will, thank you 🙏!
Why so difficult for you to get Indian visas? The USA 🇺🇸 Passport get Indian visas right away : Which country are you both from ???
If you overland with your own car, you can't use the e-visa which is approved almost instantly.
However, if you overland you need a paper visa... There's stories of people waiting for two months to get their approval...
❤❤
Thank you for watching!
Aww what a long wait… but you got your visa’s finally !!! 🙏
Lol A you must be my soul sister… I’m exactly the same re shopping! I come back with food and chocolate … and nothing else! And I do not like clothes shopping😎
I still cannot believe how yummy and inexpensive thali is. Are things cheaper… like the singing bowl and handbag???
Anyways so glad you’re better and slept it off☺️
And you know … thanks for my mention 😊 I’d love to make you a nice matcha … should be small amd it really really is dependent on good quality matcha … 🍵 there are several things to look for and when you have the right one (using oat milk) it will smell a little sweet and grassy, and taste a little earthy but very very soothing and you will not need sugar 🙏💚also high in cancer fighting anti oxidants, minerals and vit C
Anyway thanks again for sharing a lovely vlog…. Yves did make me laugh playing the typical ‘I hate shopping’ Hubbie 😘💙😎
Many things are cheaper from a Western point of view, such as the singing bowl and other souvenirs.
The handbag was slightly more expensive, but we were happy to pay a little more because this comes from a project that supports local women.
We will visit this project in a few weeks in Pokhara!
@@AFlaneursQuest thank you … the project sounds interesting and great to be able to visit and support🙏⭕️
Bedankt
Your videos are helping me a lot guys to plan my trip hopefully in 2025. Can you just confirm the dates you were in Nepal? Was that March? I find it too hot where you where in Goa! Was that in February? Good luck in India 😘
We were in Nepal from the end of January till the beginning of April! And we visited Goa from mid December till mid January! Thanks for watching!
It is going to be HOT !!! as hell in India. summers are here.
Humid heat and van life, not the best combination 🥵...
@@AFlaneursQuest yeah please take care of your health and avoid street food in summers. 2 months is severe heat.
@@viraj222777 we will, thank you for the advice!
From where you get this house style VAN in Kathmandu?
We drove our van overland from Europe to Nepal. As far as I know one can't rent a van like this in KTM.
💙🙏❤️❤️
Thanks you for watching 🙏!
NEPAL A GOOD COUNTRY🇳🇵
We love to explore Nepal!!!
im just really very curious why you were very desparate to travel to India as you been there previously already???? But you were not interested travelling around Nepal while waiting for your Indian visa?? It's your first vlog im watching and i might be wrong but .......
Genuine questions°
First, we'll return to Europe, thus the most convenient (aka cheapest) route is via India and Pakistan!
Second, we did travel around the Kathmandu Valley and Nepal, no worries (as much as possible taking into account the limits of our van). You can watch our previous vlogs, and there are a couple more to come!
Thank you for watching 🙏!
namaste
Thank you for watching!
Brazalian vlogger incident can happen any where in the world.. Bcaz it happned in India.. Thats why so much hype.. But indians are generally very welcoming and helpful.
It's always good to be careful!
Visit to nagorkot
We did visit Nagarkot, made even a vlog about this a few weeks ago!
wish u a good luck ahead
Thank you brother 🙏!
I feel sad to see it took one month to get Indian visa. Wonder whats the reason.
Not the first time it takes so long, and unfortunately we are no exception...
🤗🍄🫶
Thanks for tuning in!
Is Nepal visa free for u?
No no, had to pay for an expensive three months visa...
I am sorry to say ,you have no idea where to stay in nepal while visiting nepal..
Kathmandu is just for 4,5 days..and its transit point only ..
We have many more place to offer tourist to visit...
You guys just wasted days in nepal..hope nxt time you guys have better plan for viewers to show😊
There's a ton to see and especially to experience in the Kathmandu Valley, see our precious vlogs!
While 30 days is if course very long (although we're not in a hurry), 4,5 days is way to short to experience Kathmandu...
Subscribed you for Not 🚫 eating Animals
Haha, thank you 🙏!
Nothing is formality or a joke dears. You gotta follow the rules and criteria, whatever not. Just because you Vlogging doesn't make you any special. Rules are Rules for everyone I guess. You guys should better know it coming from a western or a developed country 🤷🤷
You know what we find bizarre coming from a supposedly developed country?
That on day 27 we are called for an interview and the agency that arranged the application took our application out of a drawer and then took it to the embassy...after 27 days 😉...
Thanks for tuning in!
❤❤
Thanks for watching!
