  • On Sunday 6/2/24, a group of 3 of us set out around Sacramento just to see what we could see close to home. The action was mainly concentrated on this day around Haggin and Pleasant Grove, with another train seen near Antelope.
Most notable this day was a grain train swinging over from the Sacramento Subdivision and onto the Cal-P, a Tier-4 SD70ACe leader, and ZLCTM starting from Pleasant Grove after having been stopped due to a stuck brake.
Enjoy this look at train action around Greater Sacramento!

Decades ago, around 12:45 am, i reported a train heading north at the Elkhorn Blvd. Crossing, that had a locked brake and flames coming from the car.
Which reminded me of the Antelope explosion.
The urgency over the phone, was as if it was , i woke up the person from their nap.
The person seemed not to care.
