- In this video, we will take a look at several different n scale model trains as they pass by a few different scenes. The trains are complemented by the sounds of real trains passing by. You'll see steam trains, passenger trains, freight trains, and more! This is the first model train video I've done in a long time, and I've never done anything quite like this before. Love N scale. Thanks for including a Metra train. I used to live in the Chicago suburbs. I mostly took the L trains, but I did take the Metra . . . as we say in Chicago . . . "a couple two tree times." 2:00 - Yellowbonnet, yay! That very last train was incredibly realistic.

Great video there, I have an Amtrak N scale train set that I set up around the Christmas tree that I run during December. My set has the P42, a heritage baggage car & 7 phase 4 Superliner cars. N scale you can do a lot with in less space. I like the Southern Pacific Daylight steam locomotive number 4449, which is one of my 3 favorite steam locomotives, the others are the AC12 cab forward 4-8-8-2 that pulled many Southern Pacific trains through the Sierra Nevada mountains and also on the Shasta line and the Norfolk & Western’s J Class 4-8-4 number 611.

4:26 That is from a real Alaska RR RDC. They had very strange sounding ebells that were installed some time in the 1980s or 90s I believe. Some of the first ebells ever made.

There's not many of the real cabooses in service nowadays because they've been replaced by the FREDs. I miss seeing cabooses on the ends of trains.
I love any videos of any trains,I've been addicted all my life,great video, except,my only complaint,other than amtrak,I've never seen trains with just 4 or 5 cars.Ive definitely never seen dual locos pulling just 4 or 5 cars.Can we get a video of trains with a realistic load?How about a 3 engine consist?Make it unique

So i'm new to all this and have a question. I bought a Bachmann generic starter train set lol and wondered if all brands are compatible with one another i.e. can I buy Kato train cars and simply add to my fleet or do Kato's require Kato tracks etc?
For the most part, yes, everything is fairly interchangeable. Some of the older Bachmann trains (and others) have the old style couplers so if you want to run them with something else, you may have to change the couplers. Other than that, you can run any train on any tracks.

What company made the METRA train? I'm planning to buy some n scale trains.
Metra trains wouldn't be going past grain elevators as Metra is a Chicago city and suburban rail line. They don't go downstate where you would find grain elevators on farms.
