- Is Robin worth it without her 5-Star Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail, "Flowing Nightglow" in Honkai Star Rail? Honkai: Star Rail's newest character, Robin, releases in just under a week for the start of the brand new v2.2 patch. A LOT of players have been asking themselves whether or not Robin is another "must pull" Harmony unit. This of course being compared to characters like Ruan Mei, Sparkle, Tingyun, & Bronya to determine whose more worth pulling for. That begs the question, is Robin going to match those expectations or fall short of being one of the strongest Harmony units to pick up? Is Robin's signature Light Cone whale bait or is there a better, F2P option? Should F2P even bother pulling Robin if they don't get her 5-star Light Cone? Side note that I didn't pay attention to during my testing. Meshing Cogs is CRACKED for ERR IF she gets hit a lot! Moon showed me that. lol

@@jim_beam_91 shes not, the showcases are bad. This is Acherons LC problem all over again. Everyone told us she was trash or mid without her lc, low and behold after release and everyone all spent their money everyone switched up.

You still didn't put Bronia LC on her to show how 10% err that is permanent affects her issues. I feel like Bronia LC is better than her LC in terms of err cause it's always a 10% boost
@@jeffl4147yeah that’s the finicky part with cogs. Also a lot less basic atk for both buff and her own personal dmg.
Cogs is like a last resort option if you care more about the buff. The event lc buffs her dmg but not energy. So they have trade offs
Even with her Lc she has energy issues outside of follow up teams. They were for sure afraid of her potential with giving an extra turn to the whole team.
They did good. Or else this character would be too much broken
Outside of FUA teams, Robin's value diminishes a lot because of energy problems and other support can still do fine I a FUA team , so she is kind of a skip for me

On reddit I saw a Jingliu hyper carry team with Bronya and Luocha, with Luocha using QPQ for the energy solving issues. I think thats also a way to consider to funnel energy into Robin
Yeah I saw that one, I'll just add if you're going to test it Luocha wants to be slightly faster than Jingliu, who is in turn slightly faster than Bronya. 136/135/134 is good but idk exactly what you have to work with in terms of the Creator experience relics. I'll add that I was curious about how multiplication luocha would work as well, gives him more actions, more sp and therefore a small increase in robin's energy generation (from both his extra basics and a little from more frequent ults as well)
Gotta mention the lc we’re getting with the event in 2.2. It’s obviously not her sig LC, but it’s going to be a more than good enough for Robin.
E1 + event LC should be really nice

Still that lc doesn’t solve her energy issues. it amplifies her dmg buffs from her entire team and herself but no energy rate increase.

Great video! This is exactly the type of content I like to see people doing with the creator experience server. Not just early build recommendations or showcases, actually testing her w different weapons/teams/etc and pointing out what issues we should be building around to make her shine.
Quid Pro Quo Light cone is a good option if your a player that knows how to manipulate the mechanics of that Light cone. It will help with Robin’s energy if you don’t have the limited light cone. If you have it at S5 it regenerates 16 energy for the character with less than 50% energy.
Huo Huo with this light cone will give Robin a lot of energy on top of her Ult. Loucha can give energy and be sp positive. Gallagher can proc Quid Pro Quo twice with his action advance.

im getting flashbacks to when ppl said that acheron needed her ligth cone
It's a very different situation. Both characters' game plan is to spam their Ult as much as possible, but Acheron's unique ult mechanics mean that 90% of her ult charge is dependent on your team applying debuffs. Her light cone gives her extra damage, like tons of light cones, but also allows her to apply a debuff to the enemy when she attacks, which essentially gives her one extra stack every time she takes a turn. Super good, but not make or break, as she can turn to other characters to make up the difference of not having her signature LC. Robin not only suffers greatly outside of a FUA comp, but there aren't really any LC's that mesh well with her kit to make up for that lost energy regeneration. Even the damage boost aspect of it is unmatched, as most other LC's available to her do not provide such a huge damage benefit for the entire team for that length of time. She won't be useless without her LC, but she will not be a good pick for many potential team comps without it.
@@esperfire3779 and see that's why I was super hesitant on I was gonna put her on my Kafka or acheron team but I don't have a full on FUA team all I got is aventurine and ratio (ig you can say Kafka too) but now I'm stuck between getting her or getting fuxuan.

I liked how detailed your breakdown was, I will wait for the 2.2 Robin 4 star light cone to come out and test it out to see if it is a reasonable substitute for the 5* one so I can make my decision on pulling it or not.
I really wanted to see how dmg booting sets work on her, like a 2pc boxer with 2 pc pioneer and a physical damage orb. I assumed that dmg increase didnt work with her but the new 4 star cone straight up says that it boost dmg, so those sets could work as well, and the loss in atk% could be compensated by using the space station palanar set
Yeahhhh ... I don't have enough resources after Acheron for both her LC and ... her ... think I'm gonna go for Topaz E1 - and see for future reruns how things develop within LC market ^^ Ty. This video was very useful in making that decision. :)
Meshing cogs also gives 8 energy when hit. Could be an option if you run her in the middle.

So i guess if I do pull robin, then her sig is her best, then bronya's is second which does save me pulls. I'd like to pull lc but i also need topaz 😂
Her light cone energy does re-stack after you ult. but yeah besides her own LC the other options will sacrifice either damage or energy regen can't have both which kind of sucks.
its fine to sac some damage ik it sucks but getting full team adv is broken ill take bronya lc plus vonwaq to ensure the dame 15 percent she receives from her lc to equal it out. Plus the 1 sp back is nice people are tripping and putting her down its lame she’s insanely broken and better than rm

yepp its called Memory Of Chaos! hsr is actually more diverse in such end game challenges as they also have Pure Fiction, which needs you to clear many waves of mobs quickly (hence is where erudition characters shine) while MoC is the more popular game mode that is the Spiral Abyss equivalent is the dps check with tanky boss/elite type enemies!

A team I would be curious to see is Herta-Himeko-Robin-Aventurine on the first half of Pure Fiction 4. Also replacing Aventurine with Topaz, to see how many Numby assists you would get.
If you are not running IPC emergency, you do not need her light cone. Regardless. Stop letting these content creators bait you guys. She is 100% fine without the light cone.
The same as literally every single character in the game. Currently. Light cones are a luxury and you should consider them if you've got the resources to get them and if you want to swag out on the enemy.
Characters like Seele for example, can help to battery her because of how many attacks she can get off in addition to the other characters who are not follow-ups that are on the team.

She is very good with jingliu + blade, she is insane in any dual dps teams ( I know for sure she better than Ruan Mei in hypercarry jl and worse than Mei in hypercarry blade) and yeah she is best harmony in pf
Someone ran moc12 with Boothill with a 3 star lightcone and he still did a lot of damage so I think Boothill is safe from being tied to his LC.
Mannn I wanted robin to be decent outside of FUA so I could put her with acheron team and advance stack acquisition
You can try with Gallagher and a very fast Pela

I do save the starlight for the Shop. I have bought two lightcones from there already. Bronya and Gepard lightcone. Next I am gonna buy the Himeko lightcone since it is very good for Pure fiction.

Robin is not for every player gameplay-wise since she put a bit of restriction(Energy) on team composition, that you can't utilize her kit properly so Robin is a skip for NOW, gonna catch her on the rerun banner
Hey, guys, if he hasn't changed the planetary set from broken Keel to the energy regenerate planetary set. And you use a bronya s1 light cone. It's like having an S3 for it. She will have no energy problems.this is just the same thing all the content craters said about Acheron and her s1and we know how that went
Ps bronya s1 and erc planetary set is 15% + she will need 10 speed for the 40% at the start so she will be the first one to go in the team
how significant is topaz on the IPC team for robin's energy vs non-topaz??
Not to say mandatory, if you want the most out of followup team, Robin, Topaz, Aven, Ratio seems to be the play, and if you would switch someone out for someone else (like Jade) I think Ratio is the one to go.

Absolutely.
Is it still worth it to pull Robin if I don't have Topaz and Aventurine since to be able to use her full kit you need a FUA team? How good is she in a non follow up team? I cant really decide who to pull for, im in between Robin, Boothill and Fu Xuan, but I don't really know how worthy Robin would be for my account.
Yeah she is best in non FuA too! FuA buffs mathematically are just 5% of her kit and Ruan Mei buff value are 90% of her kit. (So 95% against 90%) a lot of people say her bis teams are even dot and dual dps teams. She is very good in anywhere probably except farming relics.
Robin specializes in FuA the same way RM specializes in Break. They perform comparably to each other outside of these niches i.e. still extremely well.
Robin probably wins overall because of how good she is for 0 cycling, her initial ult allows you to frontload a ton of damage in a way that no other unit can. The longer the fight drags on though, the worse she becomes due to SP and energy regen issues. RM's easier to use overall but her ceiling is lower (outside of Break).

I mean bronya LC gives her 10% ER for free. That's only 5% behind and doesn't need to build stacks. Definitely a viable option for her and everyone should buy get that LC anyway

Guys, I need help. I'm a casual player, I like comfort and simplicity. Which character should I pull next? Robin, Boothill, Fu Xuan or maybe wait for someone else? I have Aventurine, Jing Yuan, Sparkle and E1 Himeko with their lightcones; then Luocha, Blade, Bronya, Clara, E2 Welt, Ratio and Yanqing. My Tingyun and Pela are both E6, my QQ is E5. I know that considering who I own I should probably go for Topaz but I find Numby kinda annoying :/// Who do you recommend for my account?

If people have the budget for it, saving for Ruan Mei's LC is a MUCH better investment (assuming you have RM). If you're clearing quickly enough, RM's cone should perform just as well in terms of ERR. It's also just arguably the best LC in the game in general if you can clear quickly enough.
For Robin in particular, E1 just seems like a much better investment - it's the best E1 in the game by far in terms of team dmg increase (far outclassing even RM's E1) and is essential for Hypercarry Robin to work (not sure if anyone has officially shown Hypercarry Robin other than Pokke though o7).
People underestimate how many potential sources of energy regen Robin has. March's taunt (March has a lot of synergy with Robin in general) or Seele's extra turns (which can exceed FuA comps in the right situations) can provide it. It's possible that just getting hit by itself gives Robin enough energy in some situations since this is rarely factored into ERR calcs.

Yea, I was saying she is not a character for the casual player, because she needs a lot to be optimized. But she will be amazing once you do optimize her
Isn’t it: use ERR rope, get around 121 SPD, then get as much ATK as possible (some survivability wouldn’t hurt after that)?

@@bepo1702 idk to be honest, but 160 is a high energy cost and once she’s in her ult she goes a turn without gaining energy herself. So you need to find ways to give her energy after the first ult. I’m more worried about her SP management though. I still like her kit and will be pulling for her though

Can King Yuan work with Sparkle or Bronya/Hanya providing extra skill points? I keep thinking getting that extra turn may help in a maxed out (I know, this is a dirty word here) HYPERCARRY Jing Yuan with speed tuned Bronya and Hanya so that Jing Yuan goes first, Bronya brings him up and he can keep hitting that skill to power up Lightning Lenny. Might not work in a longer fight but could be a good MoC team?
What do you mean exactly? Sparkle is an inseparable component of the best Jing Yuan teams at this point, so yes of course she works. Bronya does not syngerize well with Jing Yuan because her buffs do not extend to LL when it strikes. Tingyun is by far his best secondary support.

I personaly don't see Robins worth when i have my E1 Bronya...i want to roll for her in case she's better, but i don't have any idea if she is, i don't see any world changing differences plus she needs a whole damn nuclear reactor for energy(joke), i just don't see how she's so good...Bronya does everything she does MAYBE even better...but any help would be welcome.

You get 53.7 energy from her skill if you combine messhing cogs with vonwack and er rope. If your willing to play a little ineffecient on skillpoints it can work. With bronyas s1 lightcone her skill will give 46.9 but it scales up her passive regen from allies taking actions..

After seeing the LC inventory I should be able to sue for emotional distress.
I'm getting her E2S1 with 162 speed for that 1st cycle ult. Rest of the team just needs 134 speed with is easy

her buff is based on her atk and scales infinitely, no cap on that shit might as well capitalize.
I would much rather have a new character than have to go for a lightcone. If I have to jump through so many hoops to make a character functional this might not be the character for me

The f2p lightcone we getting in the event will be more than good
so she'sa skip then, that sucks, i don't have sparkle and i thought robin will change it, don't have FUA especially clara and blade, only dr. ratio, himiko and herta.
and yes im f2p and only have 15k jades left after rolling for acheron and her lightcone.

im actually thinking that robin will work very very well with himeko and herta. meets the criteria of dual dps team, high frequency attacks. definitely still worth pulling if you need pure fiction clear

Huge missplay @3:43. She doesn't bring Numby forward, anyway. There is zero reason to not Ult other than to lose 25 action value (which you did by attacking the wrong target) and Robin's extra damage (which Numby would trigger).
Don't try and get cute like this, guys. Just play simply and Ult immediately after all other units have taken their turn.

Anyway, were you not allowed to discuss the Event LC? Most TCs think it brings an overall similar value to Bronya's Signature as her second/third best option. Dreamy even puts it above But the Battle isn't Over, if I'm not mistaken.

Robin's job is to throw out Ruan may. Topaz's job is to be in the fua team. Since you only name 3 chars in your 4 char fua team - the choice is obvious.

For my account, robin seems like a skip.
Gepard + trend of the universal market lc, Sparkle, Pela and Acheron on team1.
Aventurine, Ratio, Bronya E1 and (hopefully) Topaz on team2.
Robin is definitely good and obviously better than Bronya in fua teams, but skipping Topaz when you want to build a fua team when already having a built Bronya at E1 nonetheless seems stupid.
Anyway, I've to win my 50/50 first :D if I lose, its going to be a guaranteed firefly which may end up better overall lol
I am broke from Aventurine and Jingliu, and I want Jade more than Robin, I only use FUA team, I know she is a MUST for follow up attack team.. BUT I AM FUCKING BROKE, I ALSO CANNOT SPEND MONEY THIS MONTH ;-(

Memories of the past is the not the same as meshing cogs. Cogs gives energy whenever you receive an attack too, motp don't do that
So basically Robin's really only Better then Ruan Mei in a High Maintence setup. Otherwise with FUA team she's in the Same tier as Ruan Mei but higher then Ruan Mei or in a Less optimal team She's lower then Ruan mei on that tier or she's in the Same tier or lower then Sparkle.
But In my Opinion Overall Robin Sidesteps Ruan Mei in the Harmony Placement and Ruan Mei, Sparkle, Tingyun, and in the Right Setup where you make Bronya's SP economy work, Bronya are better Harmonies for Casual players. So my assessment of Robin will be Same tier as Sparkle but Placed below Sparkle

One of the big things to help her outside follow up team is huohuo, her energy charge 20% of the max, so for Robin thats 32, which is obvious pretty significant.
Yeah. Huo Huo can be better than Aventurine for helping to get Robin's ult back because of the 32 energy and she can even use Quid Pro Quo for 16-32 energy back in the right situations.
@@bromegaman5962 but aven can keep her safe (and team) for free, while also providing energy with followup and u can stand her beside him to get hit from blast dmg since he's preservation and can hold aggro LC's. Not to mention the debuff and subdps dmg he provides is more then most supports do.
@@zerotalent297 He is better at sustaining for sure. In terms of contributing to energy outside of a FUA team, Huo Huo can give a lot without much RNG involved. Plus she gives an atk% buff and energy to everyone, which boosts Robin's damage as well. I know Aventurine has increased aggro naturally and with certain LCs, so you can somewhat manipulate the enemy attacks to get Robin hit, but that only matters with blast attacks. Even then, blast hits 3 allies anyway, so as long as Robin is in the middle 2 slots, she will get hit by blast attacks 75% of the time without Aventurine. The follow-up attack energy is nice for sure, but outside of FUA teams, he won't be doing that as much. He would need to do 10+ hits to give as much energy as Huo Huo's ultimate and even more if she has QPQ or Shared Feelings.
Now I don't know if she is better overall because I haven't seen any actual comparisons, but I think she could be the best sustain option outside of FUA teams. At least for helping to get Robin's ult back.

Wait so while she is in her ult singing she is out of battle? That is super bad. Where do we regenerate our skill points from if there is 1 less unit to auto attack with? This is also bad for fights like against aventurine where you have to attack the cubes. So she will just get killedd without a chance to defend herself? Damn... feels like a skip and rip bozo unit.

I am sad that she won't be as good with Clara and Jing Yuan. Clara need enemies to attack her to follow up and jing yuan takes to much time for LL to attack. Topaz, Ratio and Aventurine are really her best team.
