I love this film, theres ao many sci-fi callbacks and pop culture references. Personally, I think it's Simon Peggs best work. Great reaction, guys. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@roreddick9235 I think when Paul said where we’re going you won’t need them. I thought of two. The end of Back to the future when doc said “roads, we don’t need them” and event horizon when Sam Neill said “eyes, you won’t need them”.
You guys are great reactors! So happy you enjoyed Paul, it's one of my favorites. I'm also happy you could snap up so many of the references in this movie xD
I forgot about this one, it was their first american film wasn't it. Solid classic and made perfect sense to team up w/ Seth and the Superbad/Apatow crew.
Actress that plays Tara is Blythe Danner, mother of actress Gwyneth Paltrow (Ironman’s girlfriend/wife). The movie that comes to mind that I know her from is “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar”. Cheers
OMG! I can't believe that you guys actually WATCHED Jane Lynch, as the waitress who brought Graeme the malt with a sparkler, didn't recognize her, then thought that the voice of Sigourney Weaver was Jane.
Yes The Black Mailbox is a real thing if your into or believe in UFOs its a cool little spot to bump into other UFO enthusiasts and alot of visitors leave trinkets and notes and some camp out near it in hopes of seeing a UFO
I know it’s probably been mentioned before but I would love it if you guys reacted to the inbetweeners show and then the movies after. I’m not sure if you guys do shows as im new here but would be great! Many of my fellow Brits who subscribe to you would love it too!
Ah please react to run fat boy run next! It's got Simon pegg and the other guy out of saun of the dead in it the guy who was also in love with Liz forgot his name oops 😂
From "Paul's a homie" to "you didn't put in on this food" and "ain't nobody taking your order". We live in different worlds where "homie" clearly means different things. I couldn't imagine charging friends for the food they eat when they visit. Or not getting them the thing at the shop so only one of us actually has to go in and deal with other people. Probably pay for that too since it was literally 1 item. And I'd get the share size cuz that sounded good and now I want some too. So I guess we are right back to sharing my food which, as stated, I could never imagine charging a friend for.
One more for the Simon Pegg/ Nick Frost binge watch! If you ever get time, I highly, highly recommend Spaced- a comedy drama series that put these 2 guys on the map- and just for top brilliance- Edgar Wright was the director! You absolutely won’t regret watching it!!
I got most of the movie references, but something is nagging at me. That bar fight where all the white suited sailors got up to fight? Where have I seen that before? Surely not "Airplane"?
"That sucks because you gotta check and see if they're alright..." I agree. Don't get me wrong, I would... But ya'll are stretching the limits of what an actual human being is likely to do. Most of them would keep on driving. Call me cynical if you want. But as long as their vehicle wasn't involved, they'd just keep going... Although they would slow down to see if any dead bodies were hanging out a window. Tell me I'm wrong... Most people would be out of there before the cops showed up at the scene. Just to avoid having to file a police report. At best they'd film the accident on their phone, then call it in to 911, and keep driving.
The place the aliens picked up Paul at is Devil's Tower. It's in eastern Montana, Devil's Tower is our first National Monument designated by Teddy Roosevelt. There were many more afterwards but it's the first in our nation's history. I went there in 1972 with my parents, it is unbelievable when you see it in person.
mac & me was savage. the way the cop just shot the handicapped kid was crazy. not that we saw that in the american version we got an alternate ending because god forbid we put our gun problem on display.... think it was a jab at ET for all the guns which speilberg also went back and cgi'ed a lot of the guns into walkie talkies because he thought all these government and police chasing little kids with guns and stuff was a bit much
It is a GREAT MOVIE ... BUUUUUTTTTT ... it doesnt have the re-watcheability of Hot Fuzz, which is eternally funny ... especially if you already know the "big reveal" (which they clearly set up with the whole "dong show her face" + "show her in shadows during the reveal").
Why the fuck did Paul say drive north?! That's and east/ west desolate flat desert road with 50-100 miles between towns. You go North, you are driving offroad on government land and you don't want that
i dont think ive seen anything with seth rogan in it that i didnt like. as much as i hate his voice and laugh hes also kinda a lovable stoner. hard to hate him
The directing and editing of Paul is very uninspired, not a patch on what Wright would’ve done with the same material, but Pegg n frost are always good together, La truglio and hader are good team too, so this movie is still fun
I don't think that's fair. The hilarious script and external references were there. It's straightforward storytelling. I'm not sure how micro-editing and jump-shots would have improved this.
I recommend following other peers that are successful with this format and not cutting so much out of what you show on UA-cam. Better to enlarge the top of the UA-cam funnel to increase the Patreon.

Reese's Pieces is a reference to the movie "E.T." The end shot of the seemingly endless ship is probably a nod to the "Spaceballs" intro.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s movie about American alien culture was fun, silly, heartwarming and pointless. A classic comedy structure. Underrated.
Love this movie 🤣😂
People Under The Stairs, Running Scared with Paul Walker, The Birdcage, Omni Loop, Severance, and American Gods.
Absolutely second Running Scared. Criminally underrated dark action movie and I’ve seen no one react to it yet.
