Martin Freeman was one of the male leads in the UK version of the Office a few years before this came out. One of his costars was Lucy Davis (who played Dianne in Shaun of the Dead) so that is why is there. The girl who lead that second group was played by Jessica Hynes, a costar with Simon Pegg on a TV show called 'Spaced'. There was at least one other pair of people who were costars, but I don't recall their names.

This movie sprung from the sitcom Spaced which was also directed by Edgar Wright and featured Simon, Nick and Yvonne (Jessica Stevenson). Four eyes (Dylan Moran) had his own show Black Books and is a stand-up. Tamsin Grieg was also in Black Books. She was in Yvonne's group with the Beanie.

Romero loved this film so much he gave Pegg and Wright cameos in 'Land Of The Dead'.

30:52, it's crazy when you think about how actually strong enough human muscles are, that they can tear open his stomach like that, because human muscles CAN do that, but our brains just automatically stop us from doing it because of the damage we can do to ourselves. But as zombies that part of the brain doesn't work right, allowing them to actually do it regardless of the damage. Very few people take that into consideration when they try to critique zombies seemingly having super-strength.
