Cole Palmer is the ONLY creative, attacking midfielder in our squad. Nkunku is not a creator, neither is Gallagher and I’m not exactly sure what Chukwuemeka is at this point.
And have you even looked at any of the tactical breakdowns of Maresca’s system? He doesn’t play with a deep destroyer and he doesn’t use a traditional double pivot.

As talented as any player is or can be, they are only useful if they can get on the field and play. We are talking about how good nkuku and Carney are but they can't stay fit for 2 games. We need the depth in this team because only a handful of players can stay fit.

He’s not an attacking midfielder. He’ll play as a left footed 8, who will be valuable for having experience in Maresca’s system while others are still learning it. This one makes sense IMO

We're going to have 70/80 games next season. Filling up with quality players to rotate in a system Dewsbury Hall would understand is good for us to continue with momentum. Lavia, Dewsbury Hall and Carney will have a lot of game-time as well.

This transfer just makes too much sense it's hard for fans to comprehend. Jackson misses so many chances, our LHS is non existent, Enzo/Caicedo are not creative, we can't just rely on Palmer to score all our goals. We are severely lacking a goalscoring and creative midfielder, especially one that is ready now to have an impact. Carney we have no idea with, can't stay fit, have only seen glimmers here and there, still long way away from being ready. Gallagher hopefully/likely sold, Casadei a long way off, Nkunku under Maresca will likely be LW or ST as he likes his ST to drop deep. Since we missed out on Olise, then it's likely Palmer will play mostly at RW. Ugochukwu needs a good loan.
So really it's just Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Santos to last 70 games next season, with Enzo needing injections every game last season, Caicedo playing through injury at times, Santos having zero PL experience and Lavia playing 55minutes total last season.. How people can't see the need for a great advanced midfielder is seriously beyond me.

We are gearing up for a potential 70 to 80-game season. The strategy is obvious. We need bodies. Healthy bodies.
This isn't a PSR deal I honestly see this as a chance to make a better "team". Like Connor or not he isnt fitting a techinal system as well. It doesn't hurt to have players that have experience in the new system either to hit the ground running.

Don't really see how this one is PSR related if they're offering Casadei and DDF. Neither of them are pure profit and neither of them are worth more than we paid. KDH also plays on the left side as a left footer. Not on the right where Palmer operates. He also plays as CM, 8 at best. Not a CAM. Enzo, Lavia, Caicedo , Santos and KDH. 5 players for 3 positions isn't overkill.

DEWSBURY HALL is a better player than D FOFANA or CACADEI so it’s a good swap. Apart from CONNOR our midfielders rarely score. And we have to offload some players who aren’t good enough. CHUKKY is good and NKUNKU but if they get further long term injuries this season they will go. LAVIA Is unreliable too so if he gets injured again I think he’ll be sold. We should keep SANTOS but we have very few reliable midfielders.
On a player profile level, this makes no sense to me. If we're planning to make a few sales in midfield, then I could understand but at present I'm baffled

In that 10 position you should have a fit Nkunku or Fit Chukwuemeka next season. Thats my point with even Gallagher sold. You also have a 8 in a 4-3-3 in santos that has the ability to get goals aswell a Paez next season. Can’t really justify it personally

I think its very important to bring in a player that has worked with this manager a full season and really understands his style of play.

But my take would be that any player that might be mad involved in the deal should include a buyback clause in the deal. But I feel players like Gallagher would have to leave to free up spaces cos he'd obviously not get any minutes in this case now.

Nothings particularly wrong for kdh here cuz he's a specialist for the 8/10 role with a profile that isn't a certainty for us yet even though there's talent. Only issue is we have many players that can play there anyway in palmer kellyman carns and Conor. In terms of them I don't think carns conor or kellyman can provide the level of creativity yet) and I'm guessing Bro would be second choice to palmer. Which means
A. Someone has to leave to facilitate the comparatively finished product of Dewsbury Hall and
B. We aren't getting a high level European prospect to warm up to the role long term whilst we already have the foundation in place with palmer (Desire Doue)
KdH looks like he could open up the left side by beating the 1st man and through passes which could help and mudryk ,sterling and since the Lw is horrible this could be a substitute.... Or we(chelsea) could be sick in the head

Paez could play as an 8 in a system where they push up into half spaces and a fullback is inverted. Nkunku is best in the half spaces aswell. You don’t use them as touchline wingers best centrally, so it does

You said Maresca is the head coach, you said Maresca has no control over the transfers, I don't think the club have said that. This is clearly a Maresca signing to help with the adaptablity of his ideas through the club. No different then when Sarri brought in Jorginho. You need someone on the pitch that can accurately translate what the manager wants... As is this was gonna be a very difficult summer with all the tourneys happening, this way Maresca has someone in the squad from day 1 who knows what he wants from his attacking 8's.

You will never hear a club say “we have too much talent” Steel sharpens steel… for me Dewsbury-hall sets the baseline requirement for our 8’s, the names you mentioned are very talented but we have no idea how they will take to the philosophy and principles in Maresca’s set up. With Hall we set a level that the others, if as talented as we think them to be, will have to clear.
