Its very clever accounting. If we sell Maatsen for 37m that's pure profit on the books. We buy Kellyman for 19m spread over 5 years thats under 4m per year. So Chelsea could have said to Villa 'look we know Maatsen is not worth 37m, you pay us 7m more than we want, we pay you 7m more than you want'. Thats pure profit, but as I said, any incomings are spread over 5 years. So the 7m we receive is on the books now in full, but the 7m we pay to Villa is spread over 5 years. So all in all, it's a very clever strategy to play arounf ffp.

I think they bought everything, in a toss it at the wall and see what sticks kind of method, and then just sell off the rest at a profit or small loss. The issue is that they're just guessing because whatever we learnt with Poch doesn't apply to the new manager and his completely different style of play. This is the least methodical process possible. They should have sacked Poch in February and hired a different manager if they planned on moving this many players this summer. It's hard to see sense in the decisions.

I think hall is a good signing for the the right price. Hall not only makes us more fluid in attack and transition but he will be key with palmer in moving the ball quickly and purposefully No one remrmbers that when Potch was playing posession ball early season players were very slow and lack luster in position and when teams sat deep we rarely had solutions and it was pass the ball to palmer even with enzo and caicedo on the field.. this kid been playing this system and making it work so continuing on the same way for another 12 months will just make him a beast especially now when he isn't the best olayer on the team. His level has to go up. Just hope this fanbase doesn't unsettle the kid if he comes
