This is a much-needed episode because I've been hearing people say that losing weight is bad for bones And I think some people with osteoporosis might be afraid to lose weight because of that fear, I can speak from personal experience back in 2002 when I was around 19 or 20 years old I went on a weight loss "unhealthy" journey where I learned about calories and I cut them down to 500 a day yes I lost weight quickly but I also lost bone and muscle and my period and I developed stomach issues severe awful cystic acne and so many many other things too much to list, and even though I did overtime increase my calories it was still never enough and I never ate enough protein , I never liked protein foods I love carbs and nuts and seeds the majority of my diet was carbs and nut butters, I ate lots of fruits and veggies but they don't have that much protein , it wasn't until 2022 when I got diagnosed with osteoporosis that I really started learning about the healthy way to lose weight, I still have some body fat that I want to lose the Healthy Way but it makes me so happy that yes!!! you can lose weight even if you have osteoporosis !!! I don't believe the people who say being fat is healthy for bones because if having access body fat is unhealthy for the overall body why would it be healthy for bones? It's not
