Folks, Vosteed indicated to me that they are looking for as much as possible feedback. Comment on any and all features of this or any other Vosteed knife!
A karambit would not be high on my list for a self defense knife because a scenario that it would be useful is so rare I’ll just carry a regular knife and hope it’ll do 🤷♀️ Thanks for the review, CBRx
Everyone talks about karambit knives as self defense , i love one for gardening and mushroom hunting. Cutting bunches of herbs and light pruning of fruit trees and bushes. Try one out in the garden sometime. They open bags of putting soil and cut twine perfectly.
I always thought that the tiny "drain hole" was to avoid suction of the blade. Create a tiny bit of airflow so the blade doesn't get stuck from an air tight sheath and suction. I own several fixed blade knives from Kizer, Kansept and a few others but I have to admit the clips and belt loops and belt clips are trash. Why cheap out on arguably the most important part of the knife? Great video as always my friend.
There is a technique to draw a knife where the clip is designed to slip off. If you tie a length of para cord to the sheath and the other end to your belt or belt loop then clip the knife inside your waistband or pocket etc. When you draw the knife the sheath comes with it, until the cord stops it then off comes the sheath. It stops your own clothes fowling the draw and the blade is away from your body before being out of the sheath (useful if you’re a bit heavier). Some people like this technique. Or maybe it’s just a crap clip.
@ have you tried one of the holes half way up on the spine side and not the very bottom holes? I have a karambit with the same thing and this sorted it.
@@fredkadanejr-fv2te They almost had it right, but what worked for their more traditional blade shape, doesn’t work for a Karambit. And the messed up hole spacing? No excuse for that!
Highly impracrical thing both as a edc blade and a self defense tool in my opinion. And kinda overpriced one too. By the way, you have to try to just loop a cord on a bottom hole of the sheath and other end to your belt so you will be able to crry it without a clip in a pocket or behind belt and when needed just pull out with a sheath stays attached to your belt. Hope you're understand the idea
Well you just helped me fix a kydex sheath. I asked a reviewer and he sounded like he was losing revenue because I asked and didn’t help me. Ridiculous!

My toor karsumba karambit has the opposite sheath issue. I can't carry it because it doesn't include the handle in the sheath fitment, which karambits need for retention. Can't carry it because it has no retention. Just flies out with a light shake. Nothing to add for feedback to Vosteed, but I have to say that if you keep drawing it like that it's going to have long since been dull by the time Ol' Chad comes knockin'. Was unclear if it was for comedic effect or not. 🤷
@@Krusher_Knave I finally got what you’re saying! So, I’m rotating the blade in snd out, I used the word “cranking” in the video, so the edge doesn’t come in contact with the sheath. It’s a decent design and over eager execution situation with the sheath. And the clips would make me angry if I paid 90 bucks for the knife. The knife itself is great, but very “niche” only a few people are into karambits
So....What's the useful functionality of a Karambit. People who carry them fashion themselves some sort of knife fighter who in all probability would get their butts handed to them in a knife fight.
ABSOLUTELY disappointing that this didn’t come with an ulti clip. Honestly companies need to stop kidding themselves with the cheap knock off Discreet Carry Concepts clips. They suck! The DCC clip is the same design but functional. By nature and copyright they have to give u a cheap copy and it always is the first thing to go.

I have a few Vosteed knives and they are great knives. The Ankylo with the pivot lock. Bank vault strong. I always replace the clips with ulti clips!

One can buy an Opinel for that. It even has a little brush on the back of the handle for the spores.
