I find it hilarious that even after 5 bloody years people don’t realize that not every car had an onboard available during races, and that they had to choose.

It was a camera made to measure heat. It seems that they don't use them as much nowadays or at least broadcast it. It was very interesting when they started being used to see how heat moved around the tyres under load.

Before 2016, all cars didn't have onboard cameras att every race that recorded. That's why there isn't one from Fernando
@@alexanderlage6488 was not that a rule that all drives should have it in their cars? if I remember redbull was punished for moving the camera from the nose way too inside of the car for aerodynamic reasons and making it useless.
@@RoqueTHEGAMER IIRC the rules state that each car has to have 2 TV cameras, but the rules probably don't specify which way the cameras should face. Perhaps neither of the 2 cameras installed on Alonso's car were facing in Raikkonen's direction.

The Archangel I think the uproar against the halo had nothing to do with the principle per se, rather the execution of it. It doesn’t look the best and I’m sure if the teams had parameters to play about with and create their own designs it would actually be quite interesting.

Yeah, especialy Kimi are one of the Drivers that starting his debut during V10 and Tyre war era.
Also he's the last early 2000s F1 driver to be competed in the Formula 1 since his return in 2012 until today.
I jus hope he will at least score another win or a podium before his retirement (remember Frentzen in USA 2003)

It was a mysterious crash for awhile and it seemed it was also fueled by the lack of footage from Alonso 👀 lol. As we can see and hear though it was just a racing incident.
If it was Grojean instead of Raikkonen, everyone would have bashed him.

This isn't ALL the angles. Came here to see the view from Alonso's T-cam which a lot of people requested five years ago already. That angle is the most important one.

Love this feature! I was at this race and the noise was so confusing! The replays didn't really show it (like this) at the track and no one where I was sitting knew where Kimi and Fernando went before the medical car parked up.

All the cars had active cameras, but not all of them were broadcasted live. The footage does exist, bu was never released officially. However, they released an onboard video from Alonso's car where it was being craned off the track by the marshalls. Proving the fact that Alonso had a functional camera.

But what about the onboard of Alonso and maybe the Force India that was behind them? Riccardo’s point of view was a bit too far from the action. Thanks guys :)

Before anybody asks, they don't have Alonso's view because back then they only had the bandwidth to take love onboard feed from 10 cars at once, and the footage wasn't stored on the car itself. That has since changed.
I would’ve been shaken up after a crash like that, but Kimi probably got an ice cream while Fernando sat in his beach chair.
can someone explain why are the rain droplets moving with the T cam lens?
It is a thin transparent filter that moves around every couple of seconds like a conveyor belt to clear the camera view from dust, oil and rain.
