  • In this episode, you will learn a quick and easy method of creating and animating Mandala's. These Mandala's are fantastic for a variety of different use cases such as audio visualizers, motion graphics, and can easily be adapted towards magic effects for game engine and vfx pipelines.
    This tutorial will give you the barebones to work from, and I encourage you to experiment, adapt and modify your Mandala's to improve what you have learned here.
    Here's a couple of suggestions from my previous projects; Try using a wave modifier on your Mandala's for an extra layer of interest. Try experimenting with moving vertices around using proportional editing to give your Mandala's depth. Try making your Mandala's in XYZ coordinates instead of just a flat X & Y plane. Experiment with different bevels in your curve settings.

      It's great to have you in the blender community, blender can be a steep learning curve to begin with, but you get passed that initial stage of navigating the user interface you'll start skyrocketing. Just be patient, stick with it and you be at the top of your game before you know it. Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing, it is really appreciated. Have a great day and level up 🚀

    Great demonstration of your technique, with very attractive results. I was wondering how you achieved the large control points on the curves, and finally pinned it down to preferences->themes->3dviewport->grease pencil size. Grease pencil size? Hah! Thanks for the video. Subscribed.

      Thank you, it's a simple but effective method. Always good to make use of the UI features, 3dviewport in preferences is understated.

    @6.27 seconds when installing the light I do not see radius, max bounce, cast shadow or multiple import. Mine says diffuse, spectacular, volume. Did I miss a step somewhere or don't have something correct? When pressing play the light doesn't shine at all. I'm trying to match my screen to yours and make sure everything is identical but some small things are not there.

      @@ElectroHeart303 Apologies for the late response! The reason is because my render engine is set to cycles, and I think your render engine is set to eevee, You can either switch to cycles render engine to access the same light settings, or you can continue with eevee and adjust your settings to match my results. I hope this helps, and thank you for taking the time to watch this content. Have a great day and level up 🙂

    How to make them react to Audio

    • @PhotiniByDesign
      @PhotiniByDesign  Місяць тому

      There are several ways to make these react to music. One way is to manually synchronise your key frames to the music using a FPS to BPM calculator, for example if you have a frame rate of 30fps, and a beat is 120bpm, then a beat will drop on every 15th frame. Another way is to bake key frames to audio. The key frames to bake would be the "start" and "end" parameters of the curve. You could also bake keyframes to audio for emission and hue values etc.. I plan on making a tutorial about baking f-curve keyframes to audio at somepoint soon, but in the meantime, just UA-cam search "bake audio to keyframes - blender tutorial" and I am sure there will be a few tutorials on the subject from various other channels. Have a great day and level up...

      It's a method to animate curves for motion graphics, I plan on making a rotoscope tutorial soon using the same method. Have a great day and level up 😀
