Love some west coast pilsners and your commitment to Simcoe! Fantastic hop. You went much lower on the hops then I did though, but my pils was a little over the top at first.
No matter what you call it that beer looks amazing. Even with gelatin my beers never get that clear. I had a similar beer from Founder's. It was a rif on their All Day Session IPA. They called it All Day Chill Day Session Cold IPA. They distribute pretty wildly so you might be able to hunt one down. I have a cold IPA on my schedule for spring and might go the session route too. I'm not a fan of putting lots of 7-8% beer on tap, it gets dangerous quick.
Looks fantastic, I love the recipe! I make lots of beers like these and they’re always great. 34/70, base malt, lots of cheater hops is just a killer combo! I usually call them hoppy lagers. I like west coast pils too tho. Keep up the good content!
What have you used for your grain bill? I picked up a sack of Bohemian Pilsner malt and I plan to brew a similar recipe soon. I have debated about trying a little a Vienna, Munich or Melinodian malt.
@@CascadesHomebrew favorite is probably 50/50 pils and two row. This with galaxy, Nelson, motueka is most like a NZ pils. Vienna at 3-5% would be nice too. That’s how I do my pale ales. 3% each of Vienna, wheat, and carapils.
Dang!!! That’s a clear beer! I still like beers that are supposed to be clear to be clear. Looks and sounds really nice!
Thanks, good video!
Good video!
Amazing Beer!

I would never expect you to overdue the hops! ;)

We shall see if I ever get another batch drop that clear! Good luck on your Cold IPA. I will keep an eye out for that Founders version.
A 10 gallon lager can purge 20 kegs to 10psi, yeast produce a lot of co2. It's amazing how you can just daisy chain kegs and save on co2.
One source I read said that a typical 5 gallon fermentation produces almost 2 lbs of CO2!
@@CascadesHomebrew I believe it, I was burning through tanks before I started using co2 capture

That sure is a purdy beer you got there!
