In this video we are going to show you how refurbish a car battery in 2 minutes. We turn this 12V lead dead dry battery like a new battery with a few steps. So, follow our Lead Acid Battery Repair in 2 Minutes tutorial.
▶️What you needed for repairing lead acid battery :
    • Safety Glasses (So you don't get mild battery acid in your eyes (like I did))
    • Funnel or something to put water into the cells
    • Very small flat-head screwdriver
    • Needle-nosed pliers
    • Battery Charger (optional)
    • De-ionized water (you can use tap water but it's not reccommended)
    ▶️Method and Instructions:
    • Open the top lid of the dead battery
    • Fill the dry battery with distilled water
    • Close lid and attempt charge
    • Use jump start with battery pack if needed
    • Keep it charged for 5 hours
    ▶️Method and Instructions in details:
    • Pry Off the Cover
    • Use the small flat head screwdriver to pry off the cover, There are usually some slots that it will fit in.
    • Take the Cell Vents Off
    • Using your needle nosed pliers, Pull off the rubber vent covers.
    • Be careful because this could spit battery acid at you
    • Add Water to the cells
    • For this step use your safety glasses
    • Add De-ionized water/water to the cells by using your funnel or similar.
    • Put the Rubber Caps Back on and Charge
    • Put all the caps back on the cells.
    • Connect to a battery charger and put a towel or rag over the SLA in case it was filled to much and needs to vent, If it vents it will probably pop off the rubber caps, Just put them back on.
    • Put the Cover Back On
    • Once you have checked the battery is good, Put the cover back on.
    • Use any type of mild to strong adhesive to stick the cover to the battery, remember not to fully seal the top so that the gases can escape.
    Now you're done!

I thought these had sulfuric acid in them. How does just distilled water work?
I've seen many YT videos with this same advice. My 12V9AH batteries that were pretty dry, I'm not having much luck resuscitating. I only have a 2.5A 6v/12v smart trickle charger. I have fully charged other similar batteries, and tried using one of them to "kick start" the well watered battery. Maybe higher voltage / current is needed?

the acid crystalizes onto the lead plates and lowers the amount of surface area sometimes separating the plates from the electrolyte soaked separators between the lead plates in each cell. That lowers the amount of current a battery can deliver and the total power it can hold as the ability to reverse the chemistry by running a charger into it is prevented. Adding distilled water only helps when the liquid is low in the cell and sealed type batteries are not even flooded but instead just enough electrolyte is in the cells to soak the pads between the plates. If you have a lead acid battery that isn't agm or sealed and it has dried out a bit or the liquid level is low and not covering the plates int eh cell entirely adding water corrects that and the acid is still in the cell as it doesn't evaporate it crystalizes and can be dissolved back into solution.
Lead acid batteries fail and can be recycled but there is no long term fix for a damaged battery, you can only get minimal use after they are bad. Recycling the batteries just recovers the lead that can be pressed into new plates fixing a battery requires fresh lead plates that are clean and a mechanically sound and positioned electrolyte and no sulfation on the plates. Best you can get is a lower output current and lower then when new capacity from attempting to fix that battery chemistry.

It will not work need 50% H2SO4 + 50 % distilled water but initially only fill H2SO4 full to charge & enhance most importantly ampere otherwise volt will show 12V after charging but battery shall be weak.Later after fully charge add distilled water & let H2SO4 flow out 50% to occupy with distilled water.Charge final one time to full 12V is achieved
