Other than Carry’s crying all the time with the quivering lip, this is Thee Best series ever created. SOOO GOOD! So Good that it can and does overcome Carry’s silly, ridiculous crying all the time. That lip quivering has almost ruined some of thee greatest episodes ever made of any kind. HOMELAND is the best. Too bad it’s the final season but it’s lived up to what I’d expect from a final season of the best television ever created. By far better than GOT and is even better than Sopranos & The Wire , which are the next best.
And then end with Carrie in a long-term relationship with the guy who went rogue and killed many many people the previous season, took her off her meds, held her captive, got her to talk. They fall in-love? When she’s not being interrogated, she sleeps all day, her body somehow knowing it finally has permission to rest. The combination of deep sleep and mostly empty days allow new memories from the asylum to resurface. Like her brain decided to regain lost territory. Most of them center around the brutal interrogations she endured when she was still half-way lucid, before she lost touch with reality entirely. They-at Yevgeny’s behest-did unspeakable things to her: starvation, sensory deprivation, filling her cell with photos of Franny, shackling her to a chair for weeks, among other things. Everything they could possibly do to accelerate her descent into madness. Face to face with the man who gave her hell. Hell yeaaaah, Carrie and Saul💙 I love what they did with the ending! Unexpected but fitting for her character, sort of a happy end but also a beginning of something new, ambiguous and a little open for imagination and not enough to leave the audience angry ... and the title Carrie Mathison: Why I Had To Betray My Country , that's just brilliant, considering how many times she betrayed her country and everyone she loved without a blink of an eye, and she actually ALWAYS did it FOR HER COUNTRY 😄 👌
Carrie will come to an end somehow. I can't help but look back to Brodie. I expect this to go full circle. Carrie will end up feeding Moscow and betray her country just as Brodie did. I expect her to be put in a position of power to facilitate her access to the information Moscow want. I think the ending of Red Sparrow might be what occurs.
Greyman003. I had the same thoughts- the obvious full circle to season one and Brodie parallels, and after the conversation with Yevgeny by the fountain I thought a similar thing. But Red Sparrow came to mind almost immediately- reluctant recruit in Russia, and the choices the characters made in very similar plot and motive (for a Western American audience) Being honest after season 6, and most of the plot re Afghanistan and Pakistan, I was getting frustrated and bored. And heavily annoyed at the casual way they killed Max. Seeing as he was the one guy Carrie had left and as a friend not fuckbuddy or honey pot - just a dear friend but it seemed like even the writers kind of tagged it on as an afterthought. Episode 3, and 11 and 12, redeemed the whole show for me from season one to 6. And the different possibilities at the end i thought was done with the same way the intelligence agencies portrayal on tv work. Can we trust her, does she really have that romantic relationship and is he in the know It was a satisfying subtle nuanced ambiguity that defind the show as a whole. Sorry got carrie...d away there. What do you mean exactly? If you mean a loony bin that might be better than going to jail for Carrie. What This guy is asking her to commit treason against her own country by revealing assets of spy agencies to foreign agents. That's the death penalty right there, Carrie should never comply to what Yegeny is asking her to do.

Costa Ronin is also in the excellent series "The Americans". A similar show to Homeland - and just as good IMO! And I'm a big Homeland fan.
I love him in this show because he and Carrie are so much alike.
