I was curious if you guys had the chance to watch Costa Ronin's InstaLive last weekend (April 5th, 2020).
A fan asked him if Yevgeny was in love with Carrie. Surprisingly, he said NO. He stated that they are very respectful of each other, and that it was NOT LOVE. I found it interesting that he went straight to the point very quickly about it.
Carrie and her addiction to danger remain in evidence.
Perhaps one of the most important questions about Homeland is the controversial nature of its protagonist. Carrie has won many awards for Claire Danes not only because she is a woman who suffers from a mental disorder, but also because this disorder does not directly affect one of the greatest truths about her personality: Carrie likes to be in danger. Tension, fear, despair are her real comfort zone; and little by little, it sabotages any alternative of ordinary life.
Why does Carrie love Brody - the only person she really loved in her life?
Because a part of her feels bad about the pain and torture he was subjected to. She acknowledges the fact that he served his country obediently until his capture, and that he was actually subjected to inhuman treatment. He was subjected to this for years on end. This will certainly leave even the strongest of men psychologically scarred for life.
In Brody's case, he was broken and Abu Nazir took advantage of his psychological state and turned him into a brainwashed traitor. Fortunately, Brody did not blow up his suicide vest, and listened to his daughter, which highlights the fact that there is still humanity in it. This shows the audience that he is not a cold-blooded terrorist, but a misguided and emotionally damaged man who just needs to be brought back on track. Carrie sees this and, as a result, feels sympathy for him.
Carrie had other involvement yes, it turns out that none managed to awaken the true love she felt for Brody and vice versa.
The character loves her daughter Franny even though in a crooked way ...

Yevgeny wasn't necessarily the one holding Carrie prisoner. He's not the head of the GRU, Sergei is. Just because Yevgeny showed up in her cell, doesn't mean he was the one keeping her there. To help her escape might go against his superior's wishes, so what's he really to do. When questioned about her interrogations, Yevgeny was never said to be involved, nor did he admit to it. While Carrie assumed she told him about Roshan, he seemed to have no idea who she was talking about. If she told anyone about Roshan, I'd say it was the man who interrogated her, which she named in the 1st episode of season 8. When Yevgeny threatened to take her off her meds, it was to push her into a statement to plant doubt as a last ditch effort on his failed mission. He got her back on her meds and took her for walks, which he didn't have to do. I believe his only mistake, was not knowing about the ECT treatments. I think that's why she became suicidal. I'd so much as guess that her not getting those treatments caused issues with her memory. According to her character, she does her best work when she's off her meds. She put together a timeline for Nazir, then found a gap where he suffered a loss... and did it while off her meds. I'm sure her biggest problem was getting back on them, so girl was flinging her feces.
Apparently what's cool for Carrie isn't cool for Yevgeny. All he did was put her to sleep, when he could've easily poisoned her the way she poisoned Dante. Punching her in the gut after she destroyed his 11 year relationship with Simone is understandable. I don't think Yevgeny was all that interested in the flight recorder until he was faced with the reality that he'd never see her again. He didn't push Carrie to do anything she wouldn't normally do. If the woman could give up one of her assets, she could give up one of Saul's. Killing him wasn't required, finding his asset was, which Yevgeny knew she was more than capable of. He isn't just in love with her, he's impressed with her abilities as an operative. That's why he trusts she can get the job done, and do it without killing Saul. In pushing her to kill Saul, Yevgeny pushed her to the path she chose because he knew she could find one. In his own words, “She's not an idiot.” And he loves the fact that she's not.
You can see how much he feels for her based on their conversations. He connects to her emotionally because he loves her. When she kissed him, she had him... because she's everything that he wants. I think he most certainly planned their first run-in because he hadn't seen her since she got back home, and he missed her. I wouldn't even be surprised if he watched her get off the plane. Her country pushed her into his arms... not once, but twice. In the 8th season, he was the only one in her corner. Everyone else treated her like a defector. When he told her he'd leave if she got herself in trouble, he was lying. He could never leave her to die. All the men in Carrie's life fall for her, I don't see why he'd be any different. He lost one spy girlfriend just to get another. Of all the assumptions she made of Yevgeny in the 8th season, I didn't see actual confirmations. Her memories would have to be fully recovered for the sake of truth.

And then end with Carrie in a long-term relationship with the guy who went rogue and killed many many people the previous season, took her off her meds, held her captive, got her to talk. They fall in-love?Face to face with the man who gave her hell.
Did she forget that he punched her like that in season 7?
He holds her prisoner, drives her insane, and has a weird major personality change in season 8 which i know im sure is just so she’ll trust him? or she pretends to?
She has so much manipulation with every man she plays with, it's unbelievable.
The ''feelings '' were all false. I mean, he hit her, held her prisoner for months, drove her crazy and then told her to kill / betray Saul. How could she have feelings for him after all?
During the conversation at the source, he says he saved her life when she tried to hang herself and she looks shocked and as if she believed him, when in fact he was the one who locked her up without the medication for 7 months.
I believe it was a little bit of both, they developed genuine feelings for each other, but they still played with each other at the same time. Yevgeny did all these things with her, but based on the flashbacks from the asylum and the conversation near the source, he came back at some point, saved her from hanging herself, recovered the medication for a while and that's when they started approaching, I think. And then he left her again.
And Carrie was being held captive and used to Russia's advantage. That needle he stuck in her neck is a huge betrayal.
