Thanks for sharing, Marie. I have a family member with a job offer w/ the USPS, but this person is considering all of these sorts of things. It's great to hear from someone with real experience. We appreciate the work you do, as well.

The weekends have been taking me away from spending time with family and the hours aren’t consistent. I’m going to apply for MHA and hopefully I pass. Thank you so much
Hello! I’ve seen many comments and videos about how physically demanding MHA is. I just accepted this offer and i’ll be honest, I’m out of shape and worried that I won’t be able to keep up. I’ll definitely give it my all, i’m excited and nervous at the same time to start!
Hey, I just got hired. I am 114 lbs. Very thin woman. I heard how physically demanding the job could be. I was scared but did not give up. I can tell it is a little bit challenging, but guess what? A 114 lbs woman is doing it! All the equipment has wheels. You just have to learn how to drive them.
I was a CCA and MHA. I did. CCA first and let me tell you for me was hell. I live in Arizona and know that here we deal with 110°F-120F°in the summer. And you are out there in those WWI vehicles with just a tiny fan that doesn't do anything. And you are being track inch by inch because the newer scanners they give you they all have GPS in them. You don't have a route of your own. Everyday you get new routes. So is very hard to learn a route like that. Oh no #2 bathroom breaks. So CCA for me no more. MHA I really liked it. I like the fact that they don't just keep you in one spot. They moved you throughout the day. You can start receiving one day for like 3 hours, then you get moved to sacks for like 2 hours and then they moved you to do zip codes sorting. I like doing that. You are physically active and moving. I used to get a good workout and getting paid for. The one reason I left was the schedule. I worked from 9pm to 7am. Other than that was a great job. Right now I'm waiting to reapply again as soon as they start hiring for that position.
Hi Marie ♥️♥️ thanks for the video also when you apply to a position with the post office check to see it says “360” this is a career benefit position, not a temporary position

Hi there, I have a question. They called me and said I’m going to be working on “Transportation” although I was hired as a Mail Processing Clerk, what is that exactly? I just want to have an idea. Please let me know, would appreciate it.
You will be either feeding the letter mail through the machine or sweeping the letter mail which is collecting the mail from the slots and sorting them into the right bin with zip codes labeled on them.
I read they is aloe or lifting for mail handler assistant like 70 lbs. I got a job offer so just don’t know if O can handle and having back issues. I can’t lift 70 lbs.
I applied for 2 positions near and its been 6 days now and I haven't got an email from them at all yet I also applied early in the morning the same day the position was posted so I was definitely before the 200 people.
Thank you for your videos. I recently applied for an MHA job, and have taken the Virtual exam. If I do eventually make it to an interview stage, I was wondering what I should wear. It may sound like a silly question, but I honestly am not sure. My first instinct for interviews is to wear dress pants & heels, but I don't want to come off as a diva. This is a very physical job, so I was wondering if I can wear jeans, a nice shirt, and sensible shoes. Or should I go ahead and dress up?
I’m at the same step .. just got done with the virtual assessment today .. I haven’t heard anything what are the hiring processes after that ? What all entails?
Hi, Marie, Thank you for your videos! You include lots of detail. Is it possible to apply for another position while you are working in a different position? Is that allowed? For example, working as a CAA and put in application for a MHA? Thanks.
I have a question if I already did my fingerprints and background check for another plant but I choose another plant to work at and withdraw from the current job I wouldn't have to do that process all over again?
Sometimes they will deploy in another plant, it depends on the schedule you will pick. For example, the plant close to me is only accepting night shift, but the one very far like an hour away is offering the day shift. So I pick that one instead because I like to work day shift.
Hi Marie I got the job as a Pse mail processing clerk , 365 day , 5 day break but no overtime and they will let you go after 2 months. Advice please if I should applied for the MHA / pse sales/ window clerk I need to know if these other craft if they have a lot of hours. That you hope to here from you soon
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ I am soooo happy for you! You deserve this and never forget that the PO is blessed to have YOU. Please ...for me....because now that I've watched 2 hours of your videos nonstop I care. 😃You mentioned being in so much pain from the job before. So this time when you go back if something starts to hurt ....try doing the tasks differently. Find a better way. And don't be shocked if your coworkers dont understand why you work differently. You know.....the ones who are walking around limping or hunched over. Those are the very ones who have never incorporated ergonomics. Don't accept that tired worn out way of thinking that Postal jobs = pain. You are so intelligent I know you've got this and I look forward to more stories. 12:37 ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Its looks like you applied for a temporary position cause PSE who are also mail processing clerk do the same and they get 360, 5 day break, most major holidays and health insurance. After year full health insurance including dental, eye etc. PSE and MHA get the same on 360 deal just PSE get paid more cause if a PSE work 12 hrs days they get 19 the first 8 hrs 27 hr the 9th and 10th hrs and 11th and 12th are 37 hr. I think you just applied to a temporary position. It has to say 360 on any of the positions...cause I've worked with MHA who where temporary and they didn't get insurance or holiday pay.
Hello! Do you have an idea if they accept applicant who’s a green card holder or a permanent resident however been only in the united states for only 2 years yet not 5 years.
Thank you for the heads up! I’m glad you got to re apply again! I’ve taken the 476 Assessment & did well! I like your videos! Where are you located? See you on the next video & by the way you are funny. I wish I could work with people like you! ❤️👌
I have another question for you. Thank you so much for responding to me last time. I was recently selected for a Mail Handler Assistant and it never said temporary on the position posting, but when I read it more thoroughly, it’s saying that I would be a non-career employee.
If the position says 360, you have one year to prove yourself for a career position. You will have a 5 days off and that's the evaluation period. Perfect attendance will help a lot.
I watch your video before and now I thinking again in working for USPS but don't know what position should I apply because I don't drive. I am not confident operating the Forklift. Did you apply for MHA?
Marie I was hired for the MPA because they didn’t have the MHA. I haven’t started yet waiting on background. Now they have the MHA position available. Can I apply for it or wait? Please help!!!!
i got a job offer for mail handler assistant, but right now i’m working 2 jobs, one full time job mon-fri 9am to 6pm & another 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Idk if i should leave my 2 jobs for mail handler assistant, i know usps doesn’t work saturdays and sundays which is good but i need help…
Hi I’m a MHA I’m new they need my medical fill bye a doctors is some I’m Able working my paperwork have fill out bye a due date can tall me some more about it I’m a new MHA
Hi Marie ♥️♥️♥️as a MHA do you get night differential pay, do all MHA’s have the night shift? I noticed they get paid less than the pse mail processing clerks is that because of night differential pay??
MHA get night differential too. You get paid $2 less than MPA because you are entitled to all medical benefits, you get paid sick leave, and you get double pay during holidays. MPAs get none of those. You are also entitled to a career or permanent position. MPA will be let go after 2-3 months or as soon as they are no longer needed. so MHA get all the good advantage.
@@MarieAdventure Hi Marie, is the criteria the same for PSE processing clerks? Meaning: has the policy changed for PSE is this position now likely non-career to career?
Heaviness depends on the person. If you are a fit person you probably won't find it difficult at all. What is hard is the work schedule 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. You will work all the holidays so there are no time for family day. When you are new, you will work twice as hard because your team member who is a regular will probably give you all the hard work. But that's the norm in USPS.
you said “360 contract”, do people in this position under this contract HAVE to work all 360 days or can they leave mid way through if they found another job?
I can’t figure out why it’s taking so long after background and finger prints ? It’s been 3 weeks . They offered me the job ( MHA) and I accepted it . I have done background check for state x ray tech license so I don’t have anything derogatory. I am retired military but I don’t want to wait forever . God bless you .
@@MarieAdventure Hi there and thank you for replying . No not a thing . I keep hearing that it takes a while and to be patient but there has to be a breaking point. I am lost ! Is there any way I can find out what is going on?
Hi dear , I have to do fingerprints for the PSE mail processing at a facility, which I am very nervous. Can you please advise me which job is better to do PSE mail processing clerk which is 360 or mail handling assistant and how many hours do you get and overtime.hoping to hear from you soon
I am a new subscriber all the way from nevada , and just went today for my fingerprints I am going for MHA also. I'm just nervous because I put my 2 weeks in😫😔 I think it was too soon. My question is normally if they ask you to do fingerprints does that mean you are most likely going to get the job? I already accepted the job offer and did the NACI background check
I was hired and told that I will be working 4hrs daily but never over 8hrs a day. We will see 😒 because 90% of reviews state otherwise. They say they tell you that but you end up working 10 and 12hr days 6+ days straight with one day off here and there. I'm going to give a try but I also have a backup job that I don't want either to interfere with, so if it's 12hr days, that will definitely be an issue.

I'm a little worried of leaving my current job since the MHA job isn't guaranteed that they will hire me permanent i have a family and home its a risk for me . It's 360 day term with possibility of carrer.
You and your spouse can talk about finances. You will not spend beyond your means for the whole year. Every payday you will put money in emergency fund and not to touch it. Emergency fund is 6 months worth of your monthly bills and expenses. You will sell stuff that you no longer use and just taking up space in your house. Eating out once a month but you set a budget how much is the spending limit. Cut off the excess if you have Netflix, that's it you don't need Hulu and other cable shows. In summary write down your financial plan for the whole year and stick to it. I hope that helps.

Yes, here's the info. Mail Handler Assistants are eligible for health insurance; coverage is available under the USPS "Non- Career Health Benefits Plan". Coverage is subsidized by the Postal Service through an employer contribution of $125 per pay period. Thus, for the 2019 Plan Year, self-only coverage for an MHA will require an employee contribution of $60 per pay period. The additional costs for family coverage are charged to the MHA, and thus the subsidized rate for Self and Family coverage during the 2019 Plan Year will be $470 per pay period. In addition, to establish consistency with FEHB Plans, the USPS Health Plan for non-career employees offers a Self Plus One subsidized rate of $295 per pay period. The USPS Non-Career Employee Health Benefits Plan will follow FEHB’s definition for eligible family members. This may change for 2021 since the new postmaster general was appointed by Trump ;)
Hi! I got offered a MHA position today. Before accepting I’m wondering how much heavy lifting goes into this job? I’m very interested, but I’m also a pretty small girl lol Any help is appreciated. Thank you :)
Hi Marie. Thank you so much for these videos. Can you describe the medical benefit for 365 employees (co-pay, access to telehealth, wide selection of doctors/specialist, etc.)?
A MHA reappointed to a second 360-day term is alternatively eligible for coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, but the full cost of such coverage would be the responsibility of the MHA without matching employer contributions. MHAs are encouraged to closely examine the financial implications of this decision before enrolling in a FEHB health plan. Also, currently available to all FEHBP eligible Mail Handlers, as well as all other federal and career postal employees, are supplemental dental and vision insurance programs offered through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). These plans are optional, with all premiums paid by the employee without any subsidy from the Postal Service. Questions can be addressed to the customer service representatives at 1-877-888-3337, or you can find more information, including enrollment details, at www.benefeds.com. The FEDVIP Open Season period also starts on November 12, and expires on December 10, 2018. Supplemental dental and vision plans also are sponsored by the Mail Handlers Benefit Plan (MHBP) and may be used by Mail Handlers who are members of the NPMHU even if they do not enroll in health insurance sponsored by the MHBP. More information on the MHBP supplemental plans is available at the MHBP website, www.mhbp.com, or at 1-800-254-0227. Second, Flexible Spending Accounts allow employees to set aside a portion of their pre-tax earnings for certain types of out-of-pocket health care expenses and dependent care expenses that may be incurred during the next year. FSAs are an excellent opportunity for mail handlers to save money for health care and dependent care, and all members are urged to investigate this program if you expect to have eligible expenses in these areas. If you don’t have an FSA, perhaps this is the year to try. Start small, if you like. But you can put up to $2,650 into a Health Care FSA and/or up to another $5,000 per family into a Dependent Care FSA. Using the FSA Program can give you significant tax savings. In basic terms, the FSA gives you a percentage discount (depending on your tax rate) on your out-of-pocket health care costs, such as braces, eyeglasses, hearing aids, deductibles, co-payments, prescription medication, and certain other expenses not covered by health insurance. The same is true for your dependent care costs, which can include day care at a center or from a private sitter; late pickup fees from child care, nursery school, and summer day camp; or adult day care for an elderly parent. The amount of money you put into an FSA is entirely up to you. Be advised, however, that you must utilize the majority of the funds in your FSA, or you could lose that money under newly adopted rules. Participants may carryover $500 of unused funds to the next year for the Health Care FSA. However, any unused balance above $500 will be forfeited at the end of the calendar year and you must re-enroll in FSAFEDS in order to take advantage of the carryover of unused funds. Enrollment can be done either online or by phone, similar to how employees currently enroll in Federal Employee Dental and Vision Program (FEDVIP). Visit www.fsafeds.com/ or call 877-FSAFEDS (372-3337) or TTY:866-353-8058 for additional enrollment details.

I read they is aloe or lifting for mail handler assistant like 70 lbs. I got a job offer so just don’t know if O can handle and having back issues. I can’t lift 70 lbs.
Take it and see how it goes. You can always ask your coworker to help you.

What’s the difference between mail processing clerk and PSE sales/distribution clerk?
The first one work inside the plant, the later works at a post office where you go to drop your mails.
So do you have to wear a uniform since you're working in the post office and not the warehouse?
I applied for 2 positions near and its been 6 days now and I haven't got an email from them at all yet I also applied early in the morning the same day the position was posted so I was definitely before the 200 people.
What location?
Thank you for your videos. I recently applied for an MHA job, and have taken the Virtual exam. If I do eventually make it to an interview stage, I was wondering what I should wear. It may sound like a silly question, but I honestly am not sure. My first instinct for interviews is to wear dress pants & heels, but I don't want to come off as a diva. This is a very physical job, so I was wondering if I can wear jeans, a nice shirt, and sensible shoes. Or should I go ahead and dress up?
Wear business casual
@@MarieAdventure Thank you for your reply.

Thanks.
Yes you can! You can transfer crafts anytime.
@@MarieAdventure I understand either one doesn't matter to me really but the day shift sound awesome

Did they tell you why they will let you go in two months?

Please ...for me....because now that I've watched 2 hours of your videos nonstop I care. 😃You mentioned being in so much pain from the job before. So this time when you go back if something starts to hurt ....try doing the tasks differently. Find a better way. And don't be shocked if your coworkers dont understand why you work differently. You know.....the ones who are walking around limping or hunched over. Those are the very ones who have never incorporated ergonomics. Don't accept that tired worn out way of thinking that Postal jobs = pain. You are so intelligent I know you've got this and I look forward to more stories.

You are right. Thanks Angie.
Hello! Do you have an idea if they accept applicant who’s a green card holder or a permanent resident however been only in the united states for only 2 years yet not 5 years.
5 years mandatory

I have another question for you. Thank you so much for responding to me last time. I was recently selected for a Mail Handler Assistant and it never said temporary on the position posting, but when I read it more thoroughly, it’s saying that I would be a non-career employee.
If the position says 360, you have one year to prove yourself for a career position. You will have a 5 days off and that's the evaluation period. Perfect attendance will help a lot.
Hi I didn’t get this kind of email. Just the email like congratulations for this job this is required as conditional job

MHA seems best for you.

Hi, I'm MPA/MHA I'm not familiar with PSE.
i got a job offer for mail handler assistant, but right now i’m working 2 jobs, one full time job mon-fri 9am to 6pm & another 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Idk if i should leave my 2 jobs for mail handler assistant, i know usps doesn’t work saturdays and sundays which is good but i need help…
It’s peak season, you will work to death 6 days a week, 12 hrs a day.

Can you say that again?
What is your first languaje?

Hi Marie ♥️♥️♥️as a MHA do you get night differential pay, do all MHA’s have the night shift? I noticed they get paid less than the pse mail processing clerks is that because of night differential pay??
MHA get night differential too. You get paid $2 less than MPA because you are entitled to all medical benefits, you get paid sick leave, and you get double pay during holidays. MPAs get none of those. You are also entitled to a career or permanent position. MPA will be let go after 2-3 months or as soon as they are no longer needed. so MHA get all the good advantage.
Marie Adventure thank you Marie ❤️🤗

yes, you can.
Hi Marie. MHA and PSE mail procession clerk which one is better job , which one less heavy job do you know….please answer me thank you M
Any recommendations on footwear? I’m on day 3.. I’m an MHA and my feet are killing me!! 😄
I'm using Dr. Scholl's insole
Thanks ladies!! 🙂

you said “360 contract”, do people in this position under this contract HAVE to work all 360 days or can they leave mid way through if they found another job?

I am a new subscriber all the way from nevada , and just went today for my fingerprints I am going for MHA also. I'm just nervous because I put my 2 weeks in😫😔 I think it was too soon. My question is normally if they ask you to do fingerprints does that mean you are most likely going to get the job? I already accepted the job offer and did the NACI background check
If you think you do not have a record, then you will pass the fingerprint.
@@MarieAdventure I don't 😊 thanks so much for the response marie, God Bless you🙏❤

Mail handler receive holiday pay. Mail Processing doesn't.

Thank you Tongsin
I was hired and told that I will be working 4hrs daily but never over 8hrs a day. We will see 😒 because 90% of reviews state otherwise. They say they tell you that but you end up working 10 and 12hr days 6+ days straight with one day off here and there. I'm going to give a try but I also have a backup job that I don't want either to interfere with, so if it's 12hr days, that will definitely be an issue.

Hi Marie , I just got done my finger printing and should be receiving my orientation date very soon for MHA .

Thanks for the advice! Are you saying that the mha's get health insurance immediately, or do they have to wait a year? Thanks!

Enrollment can be done either online or by phone, similar to how employees currently enroll in Federal Employee Dental
and Vision Program (FEDVIP). Visit www.fsafeds.com/ or call 877-FSAFEDS (372-3337) or TTY:866-353-8058 for additional enrollment details.
