Man i just stumbled across this video after getting back into transformers after seeing windblade and getting this figure. I use to watch you every time i wanted a new transformer and this truly brings me back. Its great to see you still uploading too. Cant wait to see more as i get myself back inti a childhood hobby
"Put the weapon between the legs" ok....that just sounds wrong! LMAO! (sorry couldn't resit lol) Great review as always dude! looks like a pretty kool figure! :D
That's a pretty awesome figure, for a new mold. I love the aesthetic and kinda 'vibe' it gives off. I'm imagining she's like some kind of veteran from the war on Cybertron. Obviously, that would be a little hard to fit into canon, but the way she looks really gives me the impression she's a highly experienced warrior.
Thank you Optibotimus, for reviewing...I've been wait to see this review since they showed her off at Botcon...I really really want her, can't wait....thank you dude, you rock...
This figure was the figure I was most looking forward to in the non-movie generations deluxe toy line of this year, and I am definitely not disappointed!
Love the fact that fans helped create her, though I'm bummed I missed out. Personally, she looks more like a Decepticon, but she's still a beautiful action figure.
I've not bought any figures outside of the Masterpiece line for a while now, I think my last was probably Ripclaw from Beast Hunters. But this, this is something inspiring! Cheers Opti for giving me something worth looking forward to..
Haha, I remember voting on almost all the options that won. As far as I know, Drift sold pretty well (while looking a lot more bland than her), so I don't think her being a new character will be a big problem. Now, the figure's got its flaws - it's see-through in both modes, the alt mode is a bit lazy looking, they could've done something better with the wings and the nosecone in the robot mode... But what the hell, she's absolutely awesome. She looks elegant, her sword is awesome, they did a great job with her head and face; overall she's much better than I thought she would turn out. I will buy her in a heartbeat. The inaccurate facepaint and the landing gear on the back of her legs will have to go, though. I'm hoping this means we'll be getting more female Transformers figures in the future. And more fan-built bots, of course.
Could you maybe pop the heels off and flip them around? It looks like there'd still be enough clearance to fold them up for transformation, and it'd allow you to put them further back in bot mode.
At first I was pretty much writing this figure off. But I think i'll be getting it just for the fact that it is a fan made character/figure. Which I personally have never seen before.
I am totally in awe of this figure. A few minor kinks but no figure is perfect. Great paint apps in robot mode, pretty clever transformation, and sleek jet mode. I would totally buy a Slipstream if they got her a unique head. Thanks for the review, but man the wait till release is going to be agonizing!
I really like the look of her. I don't know alot about her but I saw some botcon videos and went on google to find out about her. Great review as always.
I have to say I really like this figure and review. Like most, I assumed she was a Decepticon (mainly due to the color scheme). This won me over and I will definitely pick this up. I hope Hasbro manage to provide more of these fan collaborations.
Giggitygiggityglock No, she would most likely be the reason Drift changed sides, and be voiced by Zhang Ziyi or Chon Lin. Personally I would give it to Ziyi. In regard to her death, with the way Hollywood is going in incorporating more Asian culture into their movies I don't think they would, if you excuse the pun, dishoner that by meaninglessly killing off a character that embodies that.
Just watched this video because I was looking to see if there was a new Robots in Disguise cartoon toy... but this video convinced me to get this figure!!!
Wow. Just wow. I got mine and right off the bat. The bottom of the comic was shredded. I was like, ooook. Then I took her out and find out she had two right arms. That infuriated me. Am returning it and either trying again or getting Dragstrip. What would you rather have Mr Optibotomus?
***** I have a question, my friend told me that there are gonna be more TF AOE toys coming up. But what I was interested in was another Drift but his alt mode was going to be the helicopter that we saw him transform into a few times. Have you heard of this? If you have, can you tell if it's true or not.
can anyone explain to me how to align the wings back to match the intake and foot pegs? I cant get them to match and the wings i cant get straight back when theyre at the closest. Somethings blocking?
now having a modern elephant/mammoth transformer would be nice, as good as the big convoy is, having one that isn't a brick in one mode and a bunch of shell pieces in the other would be nice.
My biggest hope is that one day we will get a fan made combiner, however I am worried that with something like that, it may end up way too random looking, unless the design gets based around combined mode, I like mix and marched colors as much as the next guy, but I would like a cohesive color scheme and proportionate look.
My problem with this is the red legs sticking out of the back. The whole plane is black and those bits stick out too much and also they have a strange angle, which makes it hard to belive that those are parts of the engine. By the way it would be great if you would review the upcoming new thrid party Metroplex, Utopia!
So awesome! Anybody else think that the fans based this chick off of Psylocke from X-Men? I say that since it's a ninja fem bot, she's good, and her sword is purple.
i wonder if you transformed her wings right, theres hinges still unused in your attempt at robot mode, maybe the wings can be collapsed a bit more in her back?
***** I mean, when in robot mode, it looks like the wing can be moved on the big hinge, so i wonder if theres some kind of articulation where the wing are attached to the body so it could be possible to position them more like for example the wings of prime starscream deluxe? she could be more comics accurate that way
***** oh, so the wings cant be moved more to her back, too bad, cause if they did, the look in robot mode could have been really better, the way they just hang off on the side of the body kinda looks silly and mistransformed in my opinion, maybe theres something to do like adding an hinge to solve that, i'll have to get her to try that, thanks for the answers by the way ;) i appreciate your enthousiastic style review
I'm really excited about windblade and chromia but it's unfortunate that shes so gamping I also wish she could be more like her IDW comic version. Still very excited.
So how easy is it to replace the head? Is it just on a a balljoint that is a "standard" size? Or are there pins involved? I like the figure, but I hate the hell out of that head.
I absolutely love this figure. I had no idea about her, somehow I missed the whole fan col aberration thing. Anyway thanks for the awesome review. For my taste I love her look and I think she is the perfect counterpart for drift on my shelf. Seeing as how they both have the Japanese influence and use a sword for a weapon. Although I must say that awesome purple sword looks more like a con weapon.
+optibotimus 9:00-9:30 Hey, huge fan of your reviews! but you missed a spot that you could store her sword (Storm fall Sword) in robot mode. On the Cockpit of her jet form, there are identical slots that fit the tabs on the Sheath/scabbard. (If it slips, just tighten the screw)
I also don't see this as Slipstream. I'd rather she get her own mold with some repaints. Although I'd rather her get her own new mold as well, I really think Windblade would make a perfect Airazor. Seeing as to how Depthcharge, Rampage and even Tarantulus can't get their own new molds, I highly doubt Airazor would but then again, Tankor. That makes a retool all the more likely which makes me happy. Then I get sad because it will probably be another more expensive exclusive of some sort.
Dick Santorum You coulda watched it in Googleaplis mode. It's the same way you'd watch age restricted videos if your account is under-age, and it doesn't grant the video maker a view.
I am hoping we get more fan made bots like this, however I hope we will get a large variety. Hopefully we won't get too many of one gender along with vehicles and factions.
The heels are always too short. I have tons of figures where the heels need to be a tiny bit longer. I Just got Play Arts Kai Wonder Woman & she has the same problem. And IIRC Airachnid also had that problem.
You should watch his arms micron reviews. He's not really a fan of those arms micron things and he doesn't really care about it mostly. So basically it means he just doesn't wanna review cyberverse shock wave for some reason, not because of the arms micron.
Man i just stumbled across this video after getting back into transformers after seeing windblade and getting this figure. I use to watch you every time i wanted a new transformer and this truly brings me back. Its great to see you still uploading too. Cant wait to see more as i get myself back inti a childhood hobby
hey Optibotimus, you forgot something that Windblade has a golden fan on top of the head.
"Put the weapon between the legs" ok....that just sounds wrong! LMAO! (sorry couldn't resit lol) Great review as always dude! looks like a pretty kool figure! :D
LOL! he knows im joking! :P
LMAO
ShadowKnightGeno like that one huh! LOL
If you read my comment its much worst
i'll have to check that out! what did u say? lol
Drift and Windblade sitting in a tree....
Lol...
Hahaha so ~Cute~
Isnt drift gay?
A tip : you can watch movies at KaldroStream. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Max Mack Yup, I have been watching on Kaldrostream for since december myself =)
I am so excited about Windblade, thanks so much for doing a review of her, now I am even more excited to get her in the mail when they're released! :D
When i saw images of this figure i knew i wanted to get it and i'm really exited that you have already brought in a review for it! Thank you!
I like the Japanese feel for people who do stop motions I can see her and a drift figure looking OK together
Love the fact that fans helped create her, though I'm bummed I missed out. Personally, she looks more like a Decepticon, but she's still a beautiful action figure.
Totally liking the paint on the head, great review as always man.
None of us who's ever owned a G1 seeker could complain about gappy legs. :) What a fascinating model--I'll definitely pick one up!
i personally love it when you have to transform the legs of a figure more than just folding them out. like for an example MP-29 shockwave
I woulda preferred a Deception.. But that's what repaints are for!!
The fans decided an autobot.
"Built by the fans, for the fans, and...incorporating fans."

One of the nicest heads I've seen in quite a while.
Haha, I remember voting on almost all the options that won.

im pretty sure the gap is a very deliberate design choice and I like it.
Great review, Optibotimus. Windblade looks very cool.
At first I was pretty much writing this figure off. But I think i'll be getting it just for the fact that it is a fan made character/figure. Which I personally have never seen before.

Really do hope the joints are not loose when it gets its official release, otherwise looking forward to scooping this up!
I like it, had no idea who the character was though. Thanks TFWiki!
Just got this figure today and I love it, hopefully Hasbro will do another fan vote and people will this time vote for Decepticon
The jet mode is sort of a wreak, but the robot mode almost makes up for that. Overall pretty nice I'd say.
I really like the look of her. I don't know alot about her but I saw some botcon videos and went on google to find out about her. Great review as always.
Looks genuinely decent. I like that sheath and sword, very sharp looking. I'll probably have to pick this up :) Great review as always, Paul.
i didn't know that the fans helped make her....I MUST HAVE IT!
Wow, looks like Windblade turned out pretty nicely! I wonder how long before she starts to appear at retail?
Nice first look at the figure.
I'm actually hoping for a slipstream remold. A drift remolded into bludgeon would be awesome too. Great review by the way:)
I have to say I really like this figure and review. Like most, I assumed she was a Decepticon (mainly due to the color scheme). This won me over and I will definitely pick this up. I hope Hasbro manage to provide more of these fan collaborations.
I really really want her....can't wait to have her in my collection
I would love to see her in a future live action movie. We have a samurai, why not a geisha?
Because she would most likely die a fucked up death without getting any speaking lines.
AngryBigDog They said the same about the Dinobots.
No they didn't.
Kevin Striker Yea they did. Michael Bay said he hated the Dinobots and they had never been in consideration for being featured in the movies.
Just watched this video because I was looking to see if there was a new Robots in Disguise cartoon toy... but this video convinced me to get this figure!!!
This figure is pure perfection.....I must have it.
At first glance this reminded me of a decepticon from 1985, forgot it's name, it was one of the 2nd batch of seekers that came out with Shockwave.
Wow. Just wow. I got mine and right off the bat. The bottom of the comic was shredded. I was like, ooook. Then I took her out and find out she had two right arms. That infuriated me. Am returning it and either trying again or getting Dragstrip. What would you rather have Mr Optibotomus?
Just curious, do the fans on the wings tilt at all like they do in the comics? from what I've gathered from picture they look like they do
They do. I don't read the comics so i wasn't looking for that feature, but they do. I posted pictures on twitter, seiberton and tfw showing it
***** I have a question, my friend told me that there are gonna be more TF AOE toys coming up. But what I was interested in was another Drift but his alt mode was going to be the helicopter that we saw him transform into a few times. Have you heard of this? ***** thanks! that really helps

Although I don't fancy this figure but the colour on it is really nice & striking! :D
I preordered mine on bbts. Can't wait for her to get here
She look awesome in both modes I want her so badly great review :D
My problem with this is the red legs sticking out of the back. The whole plane is black and those bits stick out too much and also they have a strange angle, which makes it hard to belive that those are parts of the engine.

I'm sorry, i don't exactly understand what you're saying. Could you possible rephrase it so i can try answering you better
*****

i appreciate your enthousiastic style review
This is a very nice figure! I don't read the comics so I don't know her, but like you say: the paint job is a big step forward. Thanks 4 the review!
I don't read IDW's comics, but Windblade looks pretty sweet.
I really want mine, I wonder when it'll be available through BBTS.
it was for preorder a week ago methinks
With some retooling this might actually make a good Airachnid.
So looking forward to getting this figure! :)
I want her and arcee and chromia
That is a beautiful vehicle mode :)
This hits shelves in September right?
im curious how are ebay figures differ from reg retail?
I'm really excited about windblade and chromia but it's unfortunate that shes so gamping I also wish she could be more like her IDW comic version. Still very excited.
So how easy is it to replace the head? Is it just on a a balljoint that is a "standard" size? Or are there pins involved? I like the figure, but I hate the hell out of that head.
Very cool! I didn't know this wave had released yet here in the states!
Oh sorry I wasn't yet at the part where you said it was on ebay
OH MY GOD AO AWESOME!!!!! And OH THAT SWORD!!!
the fans did a good job on this figure
You forgot to show her back gold crown can be taken out and become a fan... Haha
I needed to get this, love the design
Are u going to get leader class jet fire?
I absolutely love this figure. I had no idea about her, somehow I missed the whole fan col aberration thing. Anyway thanks for the awesome review. Just got my second Windblade to transform and pose in flight above Metroplex, and she is a fiddly Transformer, but cool looking all the same.
U....Lucky SonofaPrime......
What do u use to pose Her?
And is there Any way i could See This??
I used a ceiling hook and fishing string.

Is she in stores now?
Nice review. Great figure. I think she may go well with my Prime figures. And I also thought she was a Decepticon.
Anyone know any more Ninja/Samurai Transformers?
Or at least another one with a Sword?
Would a SH FiguArts stand work with her?
where and when can you get this in canada?
where did you get her i want her really bad
+optibotimus 9:00-9:30
Hey, huge fan of your reviews! but you missed a spot that you could store her sword (Storm fall Sword) in robot mode. On the Cockpit of her jet form, there are identical slots that fit the tabs on the Sheath/scabbard. (If it slips, just tighten the screw)
You should review alternators now that you have a better camera
I also don't see this as Slipstream. I'd rather she get her own mold with some repaints.

Definitely getting those heel mods XD
Aw man, how do I watch this without giving optibotimus a view?
I don't know...
It's quite a conundrum. Oh well, enjoy my view.
Dick Santorum You coulda watched it in Googleaplis mode. It's the same way you'd watch age restricted videos if your account is under-age, and it doesn't grant the video maker a view.
TronPowerNode Huh, good to know. Thanks!
Dick Santorum Why would you wanna watch his video without giving Paul a view??
Hey Paul what are your thoughts on the Generations leader class Megatron
I have one suggestion you should do, Lego Chima, this is one thing i haven't seen most Toy Reviewers do.
He doesn't review LEGO
what is titans return?
I am hoping we get more fan made bots like this, however I hope we will get a large variety. Hopefully we won't get too many of one gender along with vehicles and factions.
i hope there will be a legends class 1 i need more jet legends class figures
I'm digging this one.
If I come across it, I'd like to get it.
I hope this comes to US retail. She could be a good Sister companion to the Generations Armada Starscream just released.
BBTS if your into that sort of thing.
What is BBTS?
BBTS=Big Bad Toy Store, you can find a link in the description of the video.
OH! Well, their shipping costs are sky-high. I'll wait for Amazon or Retail.
I can see someone doing a more bulkier thrust custom.
I can't find these guys anywhere
Are u going to get stomp and chomp grimlock
how`s called the intro song?
still the only windblade I have. forget the rid mold
Is there any other place to get windblade than BBTS
very cool looking and great review as always man
The heels are always too short. I have tons of figures where the heels need to be a tiny bit longer. I Just got Play Arts Kai Wonder Woman & she has the same problem. And IIRC Airachnid also had that problem.
someone said there was something wrong with the figures leg.
.
she looks realy interesting. can't wait t get her. I like her weapon
Optibotimus: pulls out sword
Me: maybe I could paint that pink
Optibotimus: pulls of sheath
Me: Me likey
I'd love to see a fan designed Autobot voyager class monster truck. That'd be awesome.
That would probably never happen.
A guy can dream, can't he?
Guess what optibotimus not only am I getting windblade I'm also getting beast wars deluxe black arachnia
I know this is a little late, but why haven't you done the cyberverse DOTM Shockwave?
I think Optibotimus doesn't review any cyberverse figures unless it comes with another figure like an arms micron.
You should watch his arms micron reviews. He's not really a fan of those arms micron things and he doesn't really care about it mostly. So basically it means he just doesn't wanna review cyberverse shock wave for some reason, not because of the arms micron.
