I love how at 8:45 you move the bicep's around without problems. Mine is uber tight! I've seen a few other people say they had the same tight joints and scared it's going to twist and break off. >_< Other than that and the shoulder problem, I love this figure. He looks awesome next to Rhinox for sure.
In all honesty I'd recommend the Beast Wars Telemocha Series (Japanese Beast Wars 10th) Deluxe Primal: almost exactly the same as the Ultra one, but more in scale and with minor upgrades.
The Telemocha Optimus Primal is an amazing figure. If others cannot find it, the Robot Masters version was the first release and is more widely available, albeit has less paint applications and is not as accurate to the show. Unless you only want to display Generations Rattrap with the original Ultra-class Optimus Primal or Universe Cheetor, the scale is way off.
after watching the first few episodes on Netflix, i found a good way to make him -more- look like the show version. tucking the rat arms down and turning the hands towars the body and folding the side panels in kind of "shrinks" the backpack and you still see the rat hands on the side like in the show.
optibotimus damn it I still have to come to this video to transform Rattrap back to rat mode if I don’t touch the figure for almost a year. That leg action always throws me off. Thank you for doing the rat to bot and bot to rat transformations.
I have this figure and love him. Big Beast Wars fan. Unfortunately my figure has a factory defect that gives him two right knees and throws off the the transformation of his left leg.
I have a feeling this figure, Rhinox, and Dinobot and Cheetor from the 2008 Universe line are gonna pop up again next year as part of some Beast Wars 20th Anniversary line.
I really see Rattrap as a step backward for Hasbro, it's over-engineered, and seems to lean toward the Universe Cheetor in terms of inaccuracy and transformation. You know, now that I look at the design again, perhaps they got Rattrap and Beast Wars Snarl, the Tasmanian devil, blended together for some reason. Hasbro even screwed up the Robot Mode head by not giving him a bigger bucktooth and not using the right paint on the head to match the brownish plastic of the rest of the figure. His Beast Mode doesn't even have his cheese-eating incisors, just sharp teeth. Very inaccurate to the show, which is rather odd.
TFCRAFTER The color matches on the Takara one, yes, but then the arms are lacking the silver paint applications of the Hasbro version. On the Takara one you get red rat eyes which means it is only going to look accurate to be displayed in Robot Mode. A larger bucktooth for the Robot head and the Beast head would not have interfered with the transformation scheme. Its just a step in the wrong direction. =(
The reason why the comics don't focus specifically on the in-package character is because the comics are a part of the More than Meets the Eye or Robots in Disguise series
yup just got this guy and the transformation is a pain and hate that the ear stick out like that on robot mode also the robot parts on beat mode just look ugly and cannot pose this guy standing but is better than his old version. great review
Interesting tid bit: Apparently Rattrap is the Great-Nephew of Arcee, in one episode he says this. I think it was something like "By my Great Aunt Arcee!" or something to that effect. With Rattrap that makes me wonder who Arcee's brother was.
Rattrap was very funny on Beast Wars. Scott McNeil at his finest there, but it was his comments about anything and everything which (for me) made him very funny. What would be interesting to see would be a TransMetal version updated. THAT would rock!!
Congrats with your 100th video Paul! xD Your reviews are awesome man. You decide which Transformers that are good and worth adding to my Collection. x)
Heh, for some reason, this reminds me of those old transforming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures they had a while back in the 90's. Splinter turned into their turtle van, and The Shredder turned into that drill tank thingy. I had both of those figures. I loaned the Shredder one to a kid in elementary school, but he stole it outright, wound up losing it sometime thereafter, and it turned up at the school's lost-and-found, where I was able to reclaim it later anyway. Sadly today, however, both of them are largely inoperable. My old Splinter figure wound up breaking (one of the arms broke at the ball-joint hinge in the socket), and I lost the drill part for the Shredder (which he'd hold in his hand as a shield when not in drill-tank form). Today, they're stored away somewhere, and I can't even remember the last time I saw them.
Predacon love? They already got love, and a spot on the new series. How about obscurer character love? Wouldn't mind a remake of some of the Japanese beast wars characters. DEATH BUNNY!
I breed rats this thing is right on the money in scale the head is slightly larger than normal rats but hey the body arms and tail resemble a step below a mature rat
ok i have a question for anyone and everyone who would take the time to respond to this question... witch would you recommend generations rattrap or generations rhinox
CrimsonRaptors I can see a slight retooling where the black eyes for beast mode can flip around to be red for robot mode. Would be a cool aesthetic if it was included :)
Hope they sell a shit ton of rattrap so we can get more maximals/predacons/trams metals! I know I know people always asking for more but I haven't bought a TF in over two years and yesterday when I saw this guy I had to buy him for nostalgia alone. Great little figure
I do too, but I already foresee Rattrap being the Transmetal Scavenger of its time, a shelfwarmer. Be careful of the elbows, hips, and the backpack hinges because these will greatly deteriorate over time due the type of plastic Hasbro has used.
You are so right about theleg transformation! Love the way the rat feet become the robot heels. Nicely done. I also love the clear plastic! I am unsure why they went the rout they did with the clear plastic weapons and bot pieces, but i actually love how it looks. I just wish he was more of a legends class rather then a delux, but at least he seems like a small Delux. Great review!
Wow, I'm really torn about this guy. I usually don't get any characters I didn't like that much, I pretty much just stick to my favorites, right? I jumped on the Generations Dinobot when that came out, never looked back, never regretted spending that fifteen bucks. I never liked Rattrap as a character in the show, so I never really wanted the figure... but seeing how awesome this figure is, makes me want to get it.
hey optibotimus can you review the 10th anniversary be optimus primal. Cause my birthday is on Friday and I want to know if I should get the figure or not.
darthdevious And in the 4 hours this video has been up, i've gotten 6 times more views than you and you've had your video up for 3 weeks :P oooooooooooOOOOOOOO lol
15:18 keep trying Ratrap, soon you will be transformed.
My Rattrap has the maximal logo on his leg... (2:20) WEIRD !
I like the gimmick with the left forearm.
I love how at 8:45 you move the bicep's around without problems. Mine is uber tight! I've seen a few other people say they had the same tight joints and scared it's going to twist and break off. >_<

Just got this today at my local Walmart. Almost bought it last night but glad i waited. I love Rattrap.
The maximals are so not done! I want Airrazor, Tigertron, Blackarachnia....
Imagine Rampage for this line.
Did rampage have a non transmetals version? Hmm even if he did I'd rather have terrosaur and scorponok first
I picked one of these guys up at Target the other day, I was pleasantly surprised!
after watching the first few episodes on Netflix, i found a good way to make him -more- look like the show version. tucking the rat arms down and turning the hands towars the body and folding the side panels in kind of "shrinks" the backpack and you still see the rat hands on the side like in the show.
Rattrap was one of my most favorite characters through beast wars and machines
optibotimus damn it I still have to come to this video to transform Rattrap back to rat mode if I don’t touch the figure for almost a year. That leg action always throws me off. Thank you for doing the rat to bot and bot to rat transformations.
i love him got him just wish his weapons wasnt clear looking
I have this figure and love him. Big Beast Wars fan. Unfortunately my figure has a factory defect that gives him two right knees and throws off the the transformation of his left leg.
I have a feeling this figure, Rhinox, and Dinobot and Cheetor from the 2008 Universe line are gonna pop up again next year as part of some Beast Wars 20th Anniversary line.
I meant more like a repaint
I really see Rattrap as a step backward for Hasbro, it's over-engineered, and seems to lean toward the Universe Cheetor in terms of inaccuracy and transformation. Crosscut came out last week. They had him at the Hasbro booth at Fan Expo in Toronto.
The reason why the comics don't focus specifically on the in-package character is because the comics are a part of the More than Meets the Eye or Robots in Disguise series
I can't get the robot arms to stay in rat mode?
AWESOME
Thank you so much. Without this video i probably couldn't get him to rat mode.
Really hope we get a silverbolt
Great I just got this figure it's really cool!
I picked up my Rattrap last week, and next week I am getting Rhinox.
Was rattrap's alt form like a normal sized rat in beast wars? Or was he a giant rat?
Giant rat, like Waspinator was a giant wasp or Scorpinok was a giant Scorpion. Also Megatron was a very small T-Rex
Oh cool. Thanks :)
Oh and I thought the thing in his forearm were binoculars
Haha xD
True that *****
Oh man. I need to find one of these ASAP.
I love this channel
great figure! great review!
Rattrap is also in transformers animated
How do u know that and what ep
I would say this one is actually much better than the original rattrap figure, back in the day it was one of the beastwars figures I had
i got my rattrap yesterday and i really do like him. also i didn't find him in the comic it's mostly about shockwave and the wasp guy.
yup just got this guy and the transformation is a pain and hate that the ear stick out like that on robot mode also the robot parts on beat mode just look ugly and cannot pose this guy standing but is better than his old version.
great review
The Predacon that should be at the top of the list for a Generations remake is Tarantulas.
Interesting tid bit: Apparently Rattrap is the Great-Nephew of Arcee, in one episode he says this. I think it was something like "By my Great Aunt Arcee!" or something to that effect. With Rattrap that makes me wonder who Arcee's brother was.
What ep is it
The guns are two combined
that toy came out a few months ago
Have you gotten scoop yet
I love the Scoop figure.
got this guy at botcon
I personally think Rattrap looks perfect with Dinobot.
Rattrap was very funny on Beast Wars. Scott McNeil at his finest there, but it was his comments about anything and everything which (for me) made him very funny.
What would be interesting to see would be a TransMetal version updated. THAT would rock!!
I like using the rat mode to scare people. It's fun :)
LOL I'm gonna do that too when I get the figure!
Tried it. My friends didn't fall for it.
Just got mine yesterday from amazon. Nice figure, but I slightly stresses the plastic in his hip :( goes nice with my Rhinox.
I could have sworn that we already did this video.
In rat mode he is about the same size as a real rat. Great review as always
Is beast wars sill a tv show???
nope but they did refrence it a little in prime and animated
It went off the air in 97 or 98
why they still making these then not a hater just intrested to know ?????
to remember the good times and upgraded looking toys
ok thanks for explaining
Congrats with your 100th video Paul! xD Your reviews are awesome man. You decide which Transformers that are good and worth adding to my Collection. x)
Have you guys noticed he reached his 1000th video?!
I smell a rat trap
Meganinja235 ehhh i actually have over 1000 just some are private. That's why it's not that big of a deal to me
Just got him today. He looks better in maximal form because his ligaments stick out. Other than that I like him
Rattrap is cool looking! I like the beast wars. And rattrap is awesome!
i love it i got one and i love it and i got tankor i love it too they should make tankor bigger
Ou, you should see my Generations Thrilling 30 wish list on DA.
Heh, for some reason, this reminds me of those old transforming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures they had a while back in the 90's. Just got this figure years after release, transformation is a mess, bit it looks good 😊
Predacon love? They already got love, and a spot on the new series. How about obscurer character love? Wouldn't mind a remake of some of the Japanese beast wars characters. DEATH BUNNY!
Vanitas Reborn I meant in terms of generation toys from Beast Wars
Oh, ok.
They need to make terrorsaur
I'm the Giant Rat that makes all of the rules!
Welp, time for more Preds, Fuzors, and Transmetals
It's binoculars not grenades
Personally I don't have a problem with shellformers.... that's just my opinion...and i rattrap is my favorite
Lol.RatTrap is the transforming Darude-Sandstorm if you think about it.Lol.Tueped it without thinking.:3
I love Rattrap. He's one of my favourite Transformers characters ever, right up there with TFP Knockout and Armada Starscream.
Rattrap, Maximize!!!!!!
" I finally got this guy back into his beast mode & think I'll keep 'em as a ratt."
I wish hasbro makes a cheetor. Baybe even optimus primal.
Does anyone have hopes for the transmetal version?
OK I thought the grenades where binoculars when I saw it on big bad toy store .
Btw very cool figure
I breed rats this thing is right on the money in scale the head is slightly larger than normal rats but hey the body arms and tail resemble a step below a mature rat
Is the comic supposed to be a limited thing? I just bought this figure from Toys R Us, but it didn't come with a comic.
does anyone know if Hasbro plans on releasing the rest of the Beast Wars line up?
ok i have a question for anyone and everyone who would take the time to respond to this question... witch would you recommend generations rattrap or generations rhinox
The black eyes are more show accurate anyway
That is true. The red eyes only occurred in robot mode. =)
CrimsonRaptors I can see a slight retooling where the black eyes for beast mode can flip around to be red for robot mode. Would be a cool aesthetic if it was included :)

CrimsonRaptors I think they rectified the problem long time ago.
we got a updateid silverbolt in universe.i think we just chose not to remember
Big Beast Wars fans.. His arms doesn't have bombs, they're Binoculars.. He uses them in the show..
just got him thanks to a friend
he's cool in both modes, but the transformation is nothing bu a huge clusterfuck :(
You are so right about theleg transformation!
Are those bombs? Looks like binoculars.
Even the instructions show them as binoculars.
My Rattrap never came with a blaster ;3;
Not Bombs, they are binoculars!
I want Megatron from beast wars to come out. He was awesome
are you going to review your optimus primal figure?
*Sigh* We're all gonna die...
My gf bought me this one for valentines day. I absolutely enjoy it!
Great looking figure, but absolutely horrible for transformation. I got mine into robot mode, but can't reverse this back into his beast mode.
Better hope Burger doesn't spot him lol.
He just has to keep Rattrap in robot mode.
Elijah Suarez Yeah that'll work....hopefully
hey optibotimus can you review the 10th anniversary be optimus primal. Cause my birthday is on Friday and I want to know if I should get the figure or not.
The Beast Wars theme should have been used, *****.
He probably would have, if it wasn't for UA-cam copyright crap.
I beat you again...you are making this a habit :P
darthdevious And in the 4 hours this video has been up, i've gotten 6 times more views than you :P oooooooooooOOOOOOOO lol
darthdevious And in the 4 hours this video has been up, i've gotten 6 times more views than you and you've had your video up for 3 weeks :P oooooooooooOOOOOOOO lol

Kewl
We're all gonna die

hahahah this one is so fun
Wow you sound like Peter Griffin;)
When you said it is bigger that a rat,its not.Rats are bigger than that.#First comment.
DEAD RATTRAP! DEAD RATTRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
