Tuesday morning, BFD A-Shift was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire. Dispatch advised responding units that the caller was stating their neighbors house was on fire, and flames were visible. While responding, firefighters noticed heavy smoke conditions in the sky from a few miles away. The call was then upgraded to a working structure fire, and automatic aid companies were dispatched.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single wide mobile home structure with heavy fire conditions showing throughout the residence. Firefighters quickly deployed two handlines and started working on extinguishment. It was confirmed on scene that nobody was home when the fire occurred. The fire was logged under control at 11:03am. No injuries were reported on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office and the Lee County Sheriffs Office.
Beulah Fire Department responded with four apparatus, six personnel, and were on scene for approximately three hours and 30 minutes before returning to service. Smiths Station Fire Rescue, Salem Volunteer Fire Department, Lee County EMA, Lee County Sheriffs Office, East Alabama Health EMS, and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office also responded to the scene to assist.
