  • On scene footage begins at 8:10. Visibility in the basement improves around 15:00. Be sure to have your volume up so you can hear what's going on when you cant see anything!
    Truck 50 and Engine 54-2 were originally dispatched to the 1st block of Breeze Way for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 54 arrived to find smoke coming from the house and a working basement fire, and the assignment was upgraded. The Truck crew split, with 3 members outside throwing ladders and performing ventilation, and the other 3 going inside to assist with opening up and checking for extension. Engine 502 and the Rescue also made the response. Crews were on scene for a few hours performing overhaul. Willow Street Fire Company. Taken 6/22/23
    Truck 50 is a 2003 Pierce Dash.

    FAQs-
    Q: "Where is this?"
    A: Our fire house is located in the town of Willow Street, just south of Lancaster City, Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
    Q: "What is the spinning thing?"
    A: That is called the "Roto-Ray," it is a spinning light designed to catch drivers attention.
    Q: "Why is the call so far away?" or "Why does it take so long to get there?"
    A: Many of our responses, or at least many of the ones that are uploaded are responding to assist other departments. Usually another firehouse can be seen or is passed by who is already on the call. We can reach the far end of our first due in West Lampeter Twp within 5 minutes, and in Providence Twp about 7.
    Q: "What camera are you using?"
    A: For dash cams I use a GoPro Hero 7, helmet cam videos I use a FireCam 1080

    That has got to be one of the most disorientating feelings being in a place with such dense smoke that you can’t see an inch in front of you.

    Most people don't have any idea how much time and effort is put into cleaning up after the fire is extinguished, both on the scene and back at the station. Well done!

    As a 13 year old Fire & Medical Enthusiast, This is just overall insane. This fire is so bad that it has came to the point where you can't even see. I will be joining the Junior Firefighting program in my area soon, and hope I don't get injured. I think the Lampeter fire and rescue firefighters, BLS/ALS Medical members should be given a raise. Stay safe, and god bless 🤗

    Since I’m from the south and we don’t have many basements aside from people who make man made hills and build houses with basements on them are basements not required to have windows?

    At 11:00 the bell ringing was from the air tank, doesn't that mean that tank is almost empty? Yet it takes until 22:00 or so before anything is done about it. How long do you have once the bell starts ringing?

    • @Fire-Rescue50
      @Fire-Rescue50  Рік тому +16

      These cylinders give you about 30 minutes, give or take depending on how hard you're working and how much you're breathing. When the bell sounds, that is your low air alarm, and it means you have about 1/3 of the tank left. The one you heard initially was someone else who was on the way out. You can tell because it goes away after they leave. When mine sounded about 10 minutes later in the video, I checked with my crew to make sure they were still good, and then I left.

    • @sinsley1
      @sinsley1 11 місяців тому +1

      @@susanallen1100 slight add on to his comment. the tanks are rated for a specific time. most use 30 minutes, but 45min can be found also. there is hour long bottles as well but those are typically only seen with hazmat teams. also just because it is rated for 30 or 45 min doesnt mean that is what you get. It depends on the wearers breathing. now days as mentioned it is 1/3 left. used to be 1/4 but the regulations have been changed recently

      These days they are usually required for egress, depending on code. You'll see windows set into a small well in the ground, below ground level
