    I just purchased the smaller version of your massage gun and boy am I impressed with it! A lifelong outdoor activity nut I have suffered countless muscle and tendon injuries while rock climbing, ice climbing, cycling, canoeing, white water and sea kayaking, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing, back packing, etc. At age 75 I've had to cut way back on many of those activities but I recently took up riding kick scooters. While they are fairly low impact and nowhere near as injury prone as cycling kick scooters do require a kicking motion and after riding a bit over 300 total miles I have begun to experience some kneecap discomfort in my left knee. So I was thrilled to see this video on how to use my massage gun to ease knee tendon problems. Thanks for the great massage guns and thanks for the how to use videos!

    I go straight on it and it's hurts like he'll but it feels great in a weird way. But it does hurt like he'll. The round sponge one , the flat one, and the round one with ridges on it. It's a pain pleasure thing but it works folks.

      please read ALL of this because i have all the experience you will ever need if you want to get this issue solved. i have wasted many years with shit treatments and bad doctors, but i am finally on the right path. UA-cam did not give me any answers, until I met my strength coach, who is guiding me through rehab, and now i have more understanding of how to move my body.
      what did you do for rehab? only stretching is not rehab. To recover from patellar tendonitis or tendinopathy you must load the tendon with bodyweight exercises and build strength in those positions to build tolerance to the pain, eventually adding weight and increasing by small amounts each week. (choose from 2.5 kg or 5 kg or 10 kg to add on each week)
      Make sure to manage your pain after exercising and the day after. Too much pain (over a 3 or 4?) means do less reps or less weight or use support, and you will gradually increase the load with less pain. You will come to realise that you can do more reps before the pain becomes too much, or no pain at all.
      To ease patellar Tendinopathy/Tendonitis long term, you must strengthen your legs in various positions making sure to maintain the correct tracking of the knee over toes. Your knee must track over your 2 outside toes, this will activate your hip and glutes, also work on ankle flexibility and loosening mainly your quads with a roller or massage gun, but do all other leg muscles too.
      You have to be able to deal with the excruciating pain of myofascial release on your muscles, or small aches and pains in different areas that you are training if you want to get better. You have to be dedicated to a proper rehab program to heal.
      you need to find the right strength coach to help you, because doctors and physiotherapists truly know nothing about these things. Find a Sports Therapist or a Sports Strength & Conditioning Coach who actually will listen to you and already understands your problem.
      I know this because I have patellar tendinopathy. i am doing rehab and I play American football at university, and i promise this works. I have experienced all the bullshit doctors and physiotherapists and all the treatment options.
      Strengthening & mobility is the solution.

    buying a massage gun and appreciate this video. I am a skateboarder from age 11 and I have pain on the side of my knee (Imagine riding a skateboard, your foot is turned so the weight goes on the front/side more of the patellar. Its incredibly painful after just a few minutes of activity. Now the massage gun is a necessity or I can't even do any physical labor without pain.

      I am a skateboarder too with the same problem. You really need to see a physical therapist. I've been working with one for about 3 weeks and made major improvements. The worst thing is, you can't skate for 3 to 6 weeks until the pain is mostly gone. Or else it could become a long term problem.

    Oh man I hope I dont get this.( I'm already tore up from the floor up ) Back on Jan. 31st I not only got 2 nasty puncture wounds right in my left knee cap but I also tore my patellar tendon on the side 20 seconds after the fall that gave me the puncture wounds. I didn't have a doc at the time so I had no idea what happened and why i couldn't walk right, why the excruciating pain, knee looked like a pointy hill, or why couldn't straighten my leg. I just thought it was because of the wounds. But it went on too long and I was finally able to find a doc near me in my insurance network. She referred my to an orthopedic and he got me my MRI to tell me my diagnosis. April 5th I had the surgery. And I tell u what .... my leg has been in a knee immobilizer for going on 7 weeks now and I kind of dont even care. I feel soooooo much better now after the surgery. I know it's a long road to recovery ( I'm also an active person ) and it's gonna be stressful. But my concern is that more poor bad knee ( my right.... ligaments have been off that knee 3 times) has been compensating so long that all the crunching and crackling going on in it is not a thing. It's loud and feels nauseating. Maybe these guns could help with that

    My pain is on the kneecap itself...the lower part of it where the tendon overlaps. This is a result of ACL surgery where the bone plug was taken. If I go lower, onto the tendon itself there is no pain. But the pain is become debilitating for my athletic activities. It is probably reducing my left leg strength to 50% because I can not handle the pain on my patella when I use my quads to full strength. What do I do?

    • @sophiadennis2730
      @sophiadennis2730 10 місяців тому

      I've had the same exact issue. For me, its meant more than 6 extra months (on top of the 9-12 months rehab) in the gym slowly building the strength of the tendon through lots of static holds on the leg extension machine and wall sits. Slowly its getting better but it takes an extreme amount of patience imo. Goodluck with your recovery!
