The Best Advice Quincy Jones Ever Got
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 вер 2019
- How to summarize Quincy Jones’ impact on modern music? You can’t. But over the course of 60 years (80 Grammy nominations; 28 in the bag), Quincy's discography includes everyone from Frank Sinatra to Ray Charles to Sarah Vaughan, and of course Michael Jackson. Along the way he accrued a wealth of advice from his mentors and peers and this nugget comes from the French composer Nadia Boulanger.

"Your Music will never be any more or less than you are a human being" Nadia Boulanger 1957
ty didnt understood and was like well he just sat down in that chair to tell 2 word i didnt get
what does that mean though?
This man turned Michael Jackson into the King of Pop and Will Smith to a icon 🙌🏽
Michael was already established.
Quincy just helped him with his visions to be a great solo performer.
Oui je l es appris en regardant un documentaire sur ce géant
@@jaylene.turner6524 give Quincy Jones his dues, he helped to make that boy/Michael Jackson the FIRST Global Superstar. and Quincy's buddy Rod Temperton too.

Yes.
He had a hand in it.
But Michael already had star quality.
Any producer could’ve helped him just like after they worked together,
Michael continued to have hits.
I'm so glad he honored Nadia Boulanger! She is probably the best music composition teacher of all time. My music theory professor taught my class so much on this legendary person. My professor learned so much about her because he got to sit down and have coffee with Phillip Glass. (Glass, like Quincy a famous composer and protege of Boulanger) Phillip Glass basically told my teacher about his experience learning from Boulanger. Her music classes were brutal but practically every of her students became successful in music, including Quincy. 😊
Ruben Velasquez wow amazing story. I love Phil Glass.
I was in Quincy's Quincy jones Workshops, which was a workshop for young musicians, songwriters, playwrights and actors held at Inner City Cultural Center in Los Angeles, During the mid-1970s. He is a great man and Humanitarian.
what did he teach you? esp. regarding playwriting.
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 I wasn't ion the playwriting workshop just the songwriting. He did however produce The Color Purple which won a bunch of academy awards. He had experts in each field teaching the class. I don't know who was teaching the playwriting but they also delved into script writing and the guy who wrote the House Party films was in that class.
"hatred, like acid, does more harm to the vessel it is stored, than where it is poured"-that is gold.

Legend. Great advice thanks Quincy
Love this! What a wonderful man.
I also worked extensively with Doug Moody who, with Quincy, held down the E=West Coast for Mercury Records in the 1960s. Q used to tell Doug..."Hold down the fort I'm gonna go do a soundtrack for a movie" and q would disappear for a few weeks working on a soundtrack for a movie.
Perfectly said!
People Who lived with tom Jobim always says He was like his music. He was his music. That music was The true expression of himself, his personality and way of loving.
Excellent! 🌟
LOVE!
Genius sage!
Greatness!
Nadia Boulanger... maybe the mother of the standard knowledge in Music since she teached
Quincy Jones is proving it to us that it's never too late to learn about life and our mistakes and trying to be a better person than yesterday. Forgiveness is one of the most important assets to freedom. Forgive yourselves first, be kind to yourself, "don't let the past be a map to your future" , as Dr. Joe Drispenza would say.
I wrote a song about time and forgiveness (it's on my chanel if you are curious) and the lyrics are: Time is healing, you're forgiven".
Good deeds 🙌💯
Incredible being....
