I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! I am an American who has Welsh heritage, likely (maiden name Powell). I sing, and I love Myfanwy. This singer on the bus has a wonderful voice.
I happened on this video, here from the USA during our election turmoil. What a lovely place your country must be!!! Thank you for this vision of a gentler place. It's good to remember other places exist.

Awww this old lad is exactly like my Grandad! Sounds just like him, same mannerisms and even looks just like him too! I'm Scottish myself, but my lovely old Grandad was a Welshman, from Abertillery, in the valleys and he also had a lovely singing voice just this gentleman! This man in the video reminds me of him and makes me really miss him loads! (My Grandad passed away sadly in 2007) xxx
Your grandad is in heaven singing his heart out the Welsh love their singing even us in Ireland know that I couldn't wait for him to sing it was amazing touch, cheers mate.
So this is way I sing all day long, any where I am. My Great Great Grand Mother came to America from Wales after her husband died in coal mine. Hard time for them. Wonderful singing. Thank you.
I first heard Myfanwy on the soundtrack to a movie I was far too young to see (twin town) that my older cousin was watching and I instantly fell in love with the song, it became my soothing song and I still love it all these years later💛🌻🌞
He reminds me so much of my late father. I still have my Dads flatcap. I hope he always keeps singing he has a outstanding voice. I love how he sorted the loud smart Alex on the bus.
1:10 I’m already in tears. Burying my Mamgu today and this is being sung at her funeral. How I wish I knew the words myself. Diolch yn fawr iawn i hwn ‘na. 🤍💔💚
Beautiful. Only 25% of my genes are Welsh but I love male voice choirs, in fact I walked down the aisle to The Rhondda male voice choir singing Land of my Fathers. My 50% Welsh husband had the Valleys family contingent at the wedding

In the beginning those people on the bus were making fun of him , but after hearing his perfect Welsh and beautiful baritone singing voice , they remembered their roots and it penetrated their hearts ! 🏴
Fantastic song and well sung from the heart. Listen to "Soul Music" BBC Radio 4 where there is a whole show on Myfanwy and what it means to different people For What it's worth, old Welsh rocker, Andy Fairweather Lowe plays this to motivate him before coming on stage
We are an ancient race and the term Welsh was imposed on us by the Saxons, roughly translated it means “foreigner or stranger in our own land” the “true welsh” come from the ancient tribe who were known as khymric, this is where the term khymri derives, 💙

You are still Welsh Carolyn
The only thing that I find unusual is that the rest of the bus, or at least all the men, didn't join in with perfect harmony.
I'm not surprised. Do YOU know the words? I don't and I'm a Welsh speaker. (Not that anyone'd want to hear me sing!)
Brilliant singing.
Just met this wonderful gent in the queue for the chemist ... your singing hasn’t disappointed 💕
