Thanks for celebrating all these movies, Razor. COMMANDO is still one of the best action movies ever made. I don't give a shit what anyone says, it's amazing and still just as fun to watch to this day. It never gets old.
“Where in nebulous fuck are these people coming from?” The programmers forgot to set a spawn limit. You just have to run past them. Not even coming back to the map from the other map turns it off. It’s insane.

"Let off some steam Bennett", after piercing the man with a hollow pipe that shoots out steam from some who-knows-what steam engine. Quite possibly, the cheesiest and the manliest one-liner in the whole history of cinema.
Commando is a loud, ridiculous, hyper violent, psychotic, over the top explosion of 80's action movie testosterone. And that's precisely why we love it.
Some choice quotes that made me laugh so hard you could mistake it for an asthmatic fit to either look back on or look forward to for those of you like to read comments before watching the goddamn video for some reason: "Even his moustache is outta shape!" "So of course, the first time he gets 3 seconds alone with this walking pair of love handles..." "Jeff Loeb, for writing that line...I could actually fuck you."
It is a classic no the classic 80's action movie. A plot as non-existent as a politician integrity, so much macho that the only wat to kill it is to chain it to a great white covered in dynamite and drop it into a volcano and more classic one liners than Groucho Marx. Watching this and Die Hard back to back would give a bronze statue wood. Razorfist keep up the great work.
There was only one thing better than watching Arnie blast his way through the entire South American military on a grainy VHS copy .. and that was playing his avatar on the C64 action shoot em up, god I loved the 80s.
The movie explains why Matrix's former team members were being killed off. They were being killed off by the former dictator of Valverde whom Matrix's team deposed. And they faked Bennet's death, so he could work for the dictator and get back at Matrix. He hated Matrix because Matrix kicked him out of the unit.

Nah... The reason Matrix threw Bennett out of his unit was because Bennett finally came out of the closet.
Hey Rageaholic, thanks to you I got around watching this movie and it was the most fun time I had in a very long time. Absolute 80s Carnage towards the end. Yeah yeah, being born in 90s does suck in a regard that you miss out on a lot of good movies until you get to them yourself.
When I was a little girl my father took my sister and I to the cinema. I got to pick the film and much to my sister's chagrin I refused her pleas to watch The Incredible Journey of Natty Gan. We watched Commando instead. I've never allowed my sister to make important decisions again after that close call.
And then 1000 years in the future, someone found Bennett's DNA, and cloned him into a time traveling mutant crime lord who would go on to fight the Power Rangers.
They STILL understood action movies in the past time of the 80s. They actually had actors who could pull off good action movies. Hail Arnold. Hail the 80s.
When Arnold is stalking "doogie Howser" in the mall, hiding in plain sight, looking suspicious as hell that the mall cops have to arrest him for conspiracy of starting shit, that's my favorite scene
Just watched this movie and it's amazing, the script is very clever and well made, it's great fun and tight action, but it's really a product of its time. I'm thoroughly enjoying it whilst also really being amazed by the American style lack if realistic character moments. The women isn't constantly in total panic. She straight up becomes good sidekick, totally on board with using rocket launchers on cops and flying him to an island to murder everyone... and the girl after being kidnapped and seeing a guy get impaled is obviously not traumatised in any way... the whole movie is like that but it's still a masterpiece that knows exactly what it is.
To be fair to Bennet, for a tubby dude he faired better than any of us would against John “kill punch murder” Matrix. The fact that he managed to land some blows that actually hurt the dude is testament to his skills. Although it would’ve been better if Dolph Lungren was Bennet.......sorry I came a little from that thought.
7:11 Nice line, though I would went, "It didn't just jump the shark, it jumped into the water and fucked it so hard the front row was turned into a splash zone."

Gotta love the over-dramatized death throes :D Were the script-writers contractually obligated to put in the dad puns by "The Arnold?" He seems to get those lines in...most of the films in which I've seen him.
I love this movie and your review definitely does it justice. Out of curiosity, Razorfist, since you love action films, what do you think of the Die Hard series?
RDC and VW are absolute gold in this movie. aliens visit earth-"the 80's?, what was that?' show them commando followed by predator, throw in a death wish if you feel like it.
Seeing Razorfist without his aviators is just not right.
It's like seeing 80's action flick and no one dies.
so the A-Team version of Raz0rfist?

The manliest review of the manliest film in the history of manliness. The only way it could be manlier is if Manowar wrote the soundtrack.
So does Rob Halford, the Metal God. Your point?
No, there is yet a manlier movie than this one: Predator

I was about to say Predator, the ultimate testosterone fueled alpha male movie.
