Six Days in Fallujah is first-person tactical military shooter that recreates true stories of Marines, Soldiers, and Iraqi civilians who fought Al Qaeda during the toughest urban battle since 1968. Players lead a fireteam through real-life encounters enabled by unique technology that simulates the uncertainty and tactics of urban combat. Six Days in Fallujah is produced and published by Victura and developed by Highwire Games, which is led by many of the original Halo and Destiny leadership. Fuck. That’s the worst thing ever. Had a guy on joint ops with us patrolling, army but he was airforce, got taken out by a piece of shit on a motorcycle/ vbied. 4 days before Xmas day. Just realising he didn’t make it on the holiday week like that made it even worse to just have in the back of our minds

Something I just found out today, Jason is a Silver Star Recipient. That’s the US’s 3rd highest award for valor. I’ve never heard him talk about about it but that’s badass You can read the entire citation online. Rah Jason!

I remember looking for my birth certificate at my parents house a long time ago and I found my dads silver star. I didn't even know he had one. I still don't know what it was for but I thought it was really cool back then and still do 20 years later.

I feel like nobody is talking about how the character lowers his weapon when they cross over a teammate, never flagging each other. That’s something that like no games do. Idk of another game that does that. It’s really cool feature.
I know that MW2 Remastered has that feature, although you have to have your crosshair over a friendly for a couple seconds for the character to lower the weapon, but it was a cool detail I certainly appreciated the addition of compared to the original
There's is a fps called Ground Branch that incorporates low and high ready stances, but the game has been in development for about 5 years and the community can be toxic, other than that it's very fun when you can get a friend or more to hop on with ya.

@@unfortunateson5016 that's called collateral damage, and what the fuck are "civvies" still doing in a literal warzone? I understand not everyone can leave, but I'd assume almost anyone left there was there for one of 2 reasons. They're stuck or they're trying to kill me, too.
Man. I remember as a kid seeing the announcement of this game around the mid-2000s. What caught my attention compared to all the old Battlefield and COD games was the usage of real interviews from not just soldiers but also civilians. Like damn the trailer's sneak peeks back then made me a little more aware than usual that wars are a lot more complicated and honestly a toll for everyone. No one wins, everyone truly loses.
The folks I hear screaming this game being bigotry or calling for it to be deplatformed as something disrespectful to soldiers. Honestly, the early trailers from the initial development alone made me respect soldiers more and at least get a very tiny glimpse that war is just suffering for everyone. The way they integrate those interviews and such between sequences of the game shows they care enough about the message that war isn't like COD or Battlefield or whatever war themed game. It has real folks hurting and dying. War is hell for those who participate in it and should never be forgotten as such.
Anyway, sorry for the soap box y'all. lol I def wanna play this game and would love to see a stream(if allowed that is to be streamed) of y'all playing it! Also, love this video obviously, for the input y'all gave throughout it. Love y'alls stuff since the reacts of the Tarkov series.

It's cool how there's talking and callouts during the fighting, not just silence and explosions like in other games, it really brings the experience to a more real feel

@@SAVAGEActual reminds me of the one Tarkov video where one of you (edit: it was Jason, I think) is like looking at a group of soldiers pile out of a doorway and you're just like: "he should just throw a grenade in the middle of them!"
The fact that the map changes every time is a game changer. Can't wait to give it a try.
That alone won't be enough though. They need a certain level of consequence to game overs so that players will be able to get some of the experience of walking through those doors and being on edge the whole time. Like giving you some kind of penalty everytime you die

@@AlphaSilverback that might be a little too much, which is part of the problem. They would want to find a balance where there's a clear penalty but it's not so harsh that players decide to stop playing all together

@@Almosteasyese Just imagine all the iconic characters. There are so many Jocko podcast episodes they could use for reference, and if they wanted they could get him on. If they put seal team 3 in the game there would be so many iconic characters like Jocko, Chris Kyle, Jonny Kim, Leif Babin, Lacz, and many more including Lutrell who was there aswell... It would most likely be marines and soldiers for the gameplay though because they did most of the fighting but a Jocko reference would be dope.

My next door neighbor was in Fallujah in November of 2004 with the Marines, he has an album with a bunch of pictures in it from his time over there and he still has his bayonet.

There’s a lot of speculation of it getting canceled again since a Muslim group is saying that it’s a “Muslim killing simulator” so they are asking Sony, Microsoft and other companies or not sell it on consoles and computers. Hopefully it will still get put out on Xbox, PS and computers

I was in the Army (not in Fallujah) and it looks like these guys put A LOT of effort into the stuff that matters. How your player moves and handles a weapon, how the A.I follows commands, how the map changes. All of it, to me, is spot on. I'm excited to see the finished product, and to see you guys play it.
This plays a lot like Brothers in Arms, it's a ww2 squad game about us paratroopers.
They need to make another Brothers in Arms game.

Lol I loved that game but it was so difficult! The micromanagement of the squad was just exhausting.
Currently playing it. Very fun and challenging.
I love my SF and infantry brothers. I was a POG in support, though my MOS got changed to combat arms (21T to 12T). All I can say is that US Army Basic Combat Training teaches us all of this. I wish I had more iterations of training. I remember leading a team and squad in sergeant school: Warrior Leaders Course (WLC) and had my team charge a close machine gun fire position. The OC (Observer Controller) asked how I knew to do that. I said that I learned it from Band of Brothers. It isn't doctrine. But it is a better option than being pinned down and killed.
I also had some exceptional NCO's and Officers that served in combat who wanted to make sure that they could trust me on their left or right. That is it. It might suck to be an E1-3. If you're an E4 your best listen and learn. You will either leave service or get promoted. Because customs and courtesies are a reflection of your combat discipline and vice versa.
The video is awesome this is the kind of shit people need to see veterans speaking up about how combat isn’t just run and gun, you’ve gotta communicate with your squad. Also Thank you both for your service!

I came in a couple years after Fallujah. I fought in Baghdad during the surge and the spring fighting of 08, and spent time in Sadr City. I have never seen a game that captures the genuine fear and intensity of urban combat like what y'all just watched. Dude. This shit is nuts.

So the old version of the game you referenced was in an alpha or beta state but it got the axe for being too controversial that no publisher wanted to pick it up and give these guys the support they deserved. I’m glad that they were finally able to see their project green-lit.

This game was cancelled a long time ago because it was too real and traumatized many veterans. Through Patrick and Jason’s speechless, we should be able to understand how real this game is.

For the curious, what they mean with the SMAW by "firing those round beforehand to make sure you're on target" is that the SMAW has special tracer cartridges you can fire to see where the rocket should hit.

I dont think they mentioned this, but they had to take it down in 2009 because of media.
They complained about how bad the battle was, and just took their anger out on a game that wants to not only show, but also teach people what it felt like to be the soldiers there.

I got my hopes up when I heard about it's pre alpha stage 10+yrs ago then it got cancelled...I REALLY hope it makes this time
I was in Fallujah in '04 (Small Craft Co) and '05 (RCT-8 & Lima 3/4). I was involved in Op Vigilant Resolve and Al Fajr, and then came back and was involved in the elections.
My biggest concern with this game has more to do with the incessant intrusion of politics and social justice in video games over the course of the past decade. Injecting any agenda or narrative into a story which is based on my personal experiences would be a disservice to my fellow Marines, and myself; in my opinion.
Edit: 16:00 regarding maps and imagery - Google Maps had better imagery than our own IMINT/GEOINT sections. So I would use printed out (to scale) maps and Google Maps imagery and sticky back them together before raids/ops.
You savages really have to watch COD MW2 missions; Wolverines, Of their own accord and Whiskey Hotel, stay Savage guys.

procedural generated games are a bit of a dice roll. the way it works is every level has so many pieces, that the game puts together like a puzzle when it loads. sometimes it makes it better by increasing the amount of exploration, sometimes it makes it worse because it turns it into either a huge maze that you'll never remember, or you learn too quickly that it'll end up a basic shape and that takes all the exploration out of it because it will always have this many turns and end up this kind of shape.

this game was suppose to come out back in like the early 09 but the family of those who died complained to Konami about it not being human to show it and Konami backed out.
When I was a kid, the big thing was games featuring WW2, Vietnam, and Iraq 1... I used to play those games and wonder what it was like to see the events you lived through in a game for entertainment (my dad was in Vietnam, and he could never watch me play games like that without getting pissed about it). Now almost 20 years later, I know exactly how it feels and I gotta say (at least for me) it doesn't feel good. I recognize the kit, the weapons, the architecture and interiors, and remember the battles (I wasn't in Fallujah, but I was in Ramadi)... I appreciate the authenticity though. I don't watch war movies because of the inaccuracies that usually show up.

I was lucky enough to never have gone to Iraq, unfortunately i did go to Afghanistan a couple times. I couldnt imagine how insane it must have felt in the dense urban environment. My buddy who was there said the one thing the game doesnt depict is the amount of dead bodies everywhere as well as the amount of gore real urban combat has. When i was in Afghanistan the majority of the time we were fighting on hillsides and out in the open, the taliban would carry their dead away and when they couldnt it was usually just pieces of guys due to artillery, mortars, and or air strikes. He told me one of the door breachers went to shoot a door off its hinges and in the process he blew the door open a middle aged man was standing there with an AK in the process of bringing it up to shoot. The breacher took off the top part of his head above the base of the chin. Its something most games really don't do anymore.
