🃏It’s so funny you said that my wife and I are watching Buffy right now and I heard it and I stopped what I was doing to find out who was playing it and here we are lol🃏
This song and video helped me survive a horrible depression episode while in high school. I would skip school and would stay home all day hiding from nothing and losing track of days and time.
This chick style was beyond her time, I first heard her on buffy when I was a kid now my I’m watching buffy with my daughter and she is still jamming out like it was yesterday
I was looking through the Buffy soundtrack listings to try and find a songs I remembered I liked. And I remembered this song. I love it! Its so catchy and has a nice tune. And shes one of the only singers on the show that actually had a line. I think I found a new favorite artist.
Love this song. Loved her since I was 14. I'm 33 now... she got me through my time in Iraq (ex-army) and my breakup after 7 years. I'm married now, house owner, it's not on her but it's because of her that I felt better through the bad times.
Had to find this song. Song popped in my head from Sleeper and I thought "That song is Freakin' awesome!" And I can't leave an awesome song like that behind... Thanks a megaton, Iso!
I've been re-watching Buffy from the beginning since February and just finished watching this episode. I completely forgot about this, but re-watching the episode made me remember how awesome of a song this is.
I first heard Aimee on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" (An amazingly great show!) She's playing this song at The Bronze. Spike's in the balcony watching when a girl comes over and starts hitting on him, saying they should have some fun together, like they did the other night. Spike tells her he's not interested and she asks him why he's so shy, that he wasn't when he turned her (into a vampire.) They fight, and she goes off the balcony and dusts in front of Aimee, who's on stage in the middle of this song. They stop playing, then start again right where they left off. As they're leaving after the show, she turns to her bassist and says, "Man, I hate playing vampire towns!" Classic!! (The lyrics are beneath this comment.) Lyrics: Oh, Mario, sit here by the window, stay here 'til we reach Idaho. And when we go, hold my hand on takeoff, tell me what I already know. That we can't talk about it, and we can talk about it Chorus: Because nobody knows, that's how I nearly fell Trading clothes, and ringing Pavlov's bell History shows, there's not a chance in Hell Well Mario, we're only to Ohio. It's kind of getting harder to breathe, I won't let it show, I'm all about denial. But can't denial let me believe? That we could talk about it, but we can't talk about it. Because nobody knows, that's how I nearly fell Trading clothes, and ringing Pavlov's bell History shows, but rarely shows it well Well, well, well Oh, Mario, why, if this is nothing, I'm finding it's so hard to dismiss? If you're what I need, then only you can save me So come on, Baby, give me the fix And let's just talk about it, I've got to talk about it Because nobody knows, that's how I nearly fell Trading clothes, and ringing Pavlov's bell History shows, like evil show and tell So tell me That's how I nearly fell By ringing Pavlov's bell So, baby, show and tell Oh, Mario, Mario I have the exact pair of New Balance shoes that Aimee puts on! Cool, huh? lol!
Same here. Loved the song and thought it was funny how when the vampire falls and is dusted the music stops and everybody just freezes and stares for a moment and then Aimee just continues playing after a moment like, "Uh, let's pretend that never happened."
With me, the movie Magnolia got me into Aimee's music (although I remember I did love Til Tuesday back in the day when I was 15!) Funny how so many of us got into her for her music put into movies and TV to set the mood. My daughter's friends know who she is when she tells them she's the music from "I Am Sam".
Literally here cuz of Buffy right now lol. It been re airing for the past few months on the "fuse" channel.. been awesome.. they do mini marathons every day.. I wish they played Angel aside it lol (and side by side in the right order would be cool, but that's prob asking too much lol). And today this episode in season 7 was just on, and now the song stuck in my head, so had to look it up lol.
Currently rewatching Buffy. I've just started season 3 (I'll have to wait a while to see Aimee). What an amazing show. I loved it then but I think I appreciate it so much more now.
I don't know about Buffy references, but I have been a fan of hers since the Til Tuesday days. IMO, Aimee's art just keeps getting better and better. Most of her contemporaries are out of the business and yet she just keeps cranking em out. Isn't she eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo act yet?
Not just played in the episode, Aimee is performing it in the in-world local bar/club and afterwards is like, "I hate playing in vampire towns" because of all the mayhem around lol.
I heard Til' Tuesday as a little kid. My sisters liked the band. Think it was the soundtrack for "Magnolia" that actually introduced me to Aimee Mann. It's a great soundtrack full of her songs. By the time she made her appearance on Buffy, I already knew her music.
Scream Queen..... It was my favorite scene in the episode. Always loved how Spike dusted the vampire and she dusted stopping the song "Man I hate playing vampire towns.... But wait there's more
One of Aimee's Best songs ever! Top 10! Video is simple basically running the film backwards but somehow simple videos always go best with Aimee's songs.
i love amiee mann all her stuff is awesome i remember her from the 80's and then my 26yr old daughter who is a singer introduced me(52yr old) to her again. Thanks Abbey. You have great taste in music just like your old hippie mom!
I love Buffy and always will!! I first heard Aimee on the "Creul Intentions" soundtrack with "You Could Make A Killing" (also a great song) and I liked her music. When I heard her on Buffy I fell in love.
this is the one song from buffy that actually interacted with the episode! When the vampire turned to dust in the audience the band stopped. and then played again looking all cool and stuff. haha x
buffy!!!! she was awesome on buffy...i love how she's the only musician on buffy with a speaking part...she says something about not wanting to play in a hellmouth or vamptown
"Man, I hate playing vampire towns."
Woot! BtVS fans rule. Heard this on Buffy, ran and bought the cd...love Aimee Mann. All her music is excellent.
Me too, I think I bought this album in 05. Heard it first on Buffy!
Buffy changed lives for a lot of people I'm amazed how a TV show can do that.
🃏It’s so funny you said that my wife and I are watching Buffy right now and I heard it and I stopped what I was doing to find out who was playing it and here we are lol🃏
I hate playing vampire towns
You stole my comment lol.
Same.
Maybe THAT’S what she’s always staring at.
I can't believe she's 60 now. This song on buffy felt like yesterday.
These last 20 years have felt like 2.
Pure scary I’d say.
She’s is only 47 years old.
Probably the most serious and 'grown-up' song ever to be played at the Bronze. Gotta love that woman! (I think it's the eyes)
@Meister Incognito This was season 7.
Cibo matto also
@@younessjabri1908 cibo matto was singing about drug trips lol, so no
Sugar water
@@Benleyy Good song. But.Teenage theme.....

One of the best scenes in Buffy! Brilliant.

So that's all I was for you? A one bite stand?
iconic
Took them seven seasons to come up with that one. Worth the wait.
Had to find this song. Song popped in my head from Sleeper and I thought "That song is Freakin' awesome!" And I can't leave an awesome song like that behind... Thanks a megaton, Iso!

Who else remembers this from buffy?
+civico88212 "I hate playing vampire towns" :D
+Charles Mills haha epic phrase xD
yup! lol that's how I found her haha
civico88212 eyup
then found... she was in Til' Tuesday....
Aimee is so pretty, and I love how her singing seems so effortless and smooth.
Same, I'm a huge Buffy fanatic and that was the first time i heard Aimee Mann's music, she is great and i have like 6 of her CD's now
I love this song. I think Aimee is the best song writer in the world. SHE ROCKS!!
once again my favorite female singer

+Lady Suzette Exactly! Great show, great scene!
Yeah i Spent Weeks Trying To Find It One Of My Favorites
I thought it was hilarious when Spike saw her fangs. I never thought HE would ever wet himself lol.
I have all the seasons of Buffy and this is my favorite song from the show!
With me, the movie Magnolia got me into Aimee's music (although I remember I did love Til Tuesday back in the day when I was 15!) She's a very exceptional artist. Love her!
the thing i like about buffy is the singers of the songs are actually the people in the episodes
i believe this is my favorite aimee mann song, im so glad i found her bc literally her voice is like liquid gold
YES. I love that Joss got her to play at the Bronze.
She is still amazing. I do miss my nights with Till Tuesday and a nice BUZZ.
She has the most beautiful, timeless eyes. Love this song and video!
I've seen Aimee several times in concert, and this great song kicks some serious ass live.

Faith turned up yet? 😀.
@@mart87scarb Now on season 6. Faith was great in season 3. Her appearances in season 4 were probably my favourite moments.
Great song and good beat!!🎤🎸💿💯🎵😁😇💘😊
I got my hands on most of the songs and scores from the buffy and angel series and I would say this is one of the best songs on either series.
This song is amazing, brings back a lot of memories.. I'm actually smiling and crying at the same time. :)
I don't know about Buffy references, but I have been a fan of hers since the Til Tuesday days. IMO, Aimee's art just keeps getting better and better. Because this song was played during an episode from final season of Buffy
Not just played in the episode, Aimee is performing it in the in-world local bar/club and afterwards is like, "I hate playing in vampire towns" because of all the mayhem around lol.
From one of the greatest albums, that unfortunately most don't know about. Album received a good amount of airplay on college radio.
season 7 episode 8 buffy, thank you , great song.
Same here. Heard it it on Buffy. Go Faith!

My favorite radio station had a 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' special and played this song. I loved it and now I'm excited to watch the show!
How was your viewing? Did you manage to get up to season 7 when this song finally plays? 😃
One of my fav songs ever. I don’t think the video does it justice
I seriously love this song, thanks for sharing. Buffy fan all the way Lozza

Who remembers this from Buffy? I finally found the song. Rewatching this episode right now actually
Everytime I hear this song its as if someone took my heart and wrung it like a towel. I never heard a guitar cry as sadly as this one.
I hate playing vampire towns. Spikes been a bad boy
Just watched Buffy scene again. On comet channel. Aimee. Man I hate playing vampire towns
You know that she was the lead of "Til Tuesday" before her solo career,
She is one of the best Singer Songwriters of our time.
i love this song!!! aimee rocks!
"Only to Ohio" cracks me up everytime - my brain is broken
She's pretty, and incredibly talented to boot
Never seen buffy in my life, here because Aimee Mann is fkng amazing.

This was one of my favorites off of Buffy so glad I finally found it yes
i agree with you... both women have an amazing way with words, and telling stories through songs... true poets.
Classic and still fresh to the death!
It's so cool that so many people know this song from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love seeing that people haven't forgotten The Great Show. :)
slowly but steadily rocking, and once in your head impossible to get out.
