  • How To Find An Apartment Around Angeles City, Philippines
    Lot and I went out today and did some apartment searching around Angeles City. The best way to find apartments in Angeles City is to go out and walk around the areas. No website will give you the best deals when it comes to apartments. Ask trike drivers and ask the local people if they know of any available apartments in the area you are looking.

    Last time I was in the Philippines in August, we had a cover erected at the side of house for the same reason. We don’t have a car, but we have a tricycle that gets parked under it and we sit under there and it even keeps the inside of the house cooler. There used to be a couple of trees there, but they were blown over during a typhoon.

    You will be amazed how a place will look after you slap a coat of paint on the walls. Use some putty fill-in the holes in the wall, replace the doors replace the screens and light fixtures. Mop up the floor and especially replace the toilet and you have a good place to live at. In 10 days the contractors can make that place really looked beautiful.

    Brian, I will be there from Mid May until Mid August. How hard is it to find an apartment without having to put three months rent down (you know 1st and last plus deposit) I just want a studio with Air Con at least in my bedroom. I would like hot water but not completely required. I am trying to avoid paying $20 a night for a hotel for 90 days. Any ideas? I dont mind the legwork. I have a hotel rented for the first week or so.

    • @EternallyGod
      @EternallyGod 6 років тому

      Well he is paying 300 a month which is 10 dollars a night unfurnished. 20 dollars a night is well cheap.

    • @marshallsislandadventures798
      @marshallsislandadventures798 6 років тому

      Not looking for covered parking or two bedroom so the question remains. I lived in Dumaguete last year in Hemondena Apartments for 12000 peso which is 230.00 a month furnished. If you dont believe that look at Philippine Dreams video about 5 or so down with the name of the apartment in the title. I have not lived in Angeles city so I dont know what the prices are there. $20 a night wihtout taxes is $600 a month which is 31475 peso a month.

    • @EternallyGod
      @EternallyGod 6 років тому

      I guess my opinion is that at a certain point paying less will mean you get garbage simply because you cant make money renting out the property. As a business person myself i know i cant rent something for 300 a month....i would literally have to be paid to take the property....i couldnt pay for the property and then rent it at 300....there simply is no profit margin and as a owner you have all the risk. So in my opinion rental property needs to start at 500 is all.

    • @marshallsislandadventures798
      @marshallsislandadventures798 6 років тому

      I wasn't knocking your opinions and I appreciate the input. I was just curious if the cost of living is similar to what it is in Dumaguete. The most expensive apartments there are Daves studio apartments which are $550 a month but they come with a motorcycle. Then again that is a small provincial area. I dont know that much about Angeles City but I guess I will learn when I come. Thanks for your input Kirk.

    • @EternallyGod
      @EternallyGod 6 років тому

      Yeah i agree with you joney, but at 300 dollars a month there is no demand.....so no supply. No smart business man loses money to add supply to the mix.

      No A/C sweat your balls off. No stove, buy food in the street or eat dried fish everyday. No frig-no problem-don't buy foods that need to be refrigerated?
      Seems Filipino's buy those portable propane stoves tho. Wonder what a fridge cost there? Can their electrical systems handle a stove and fridge?
      I hear they have brownouts a lot in the Philippines and why people don't use refrigerators....they don't want to waste their hard earned money on spoiled food in the fridge because of brownouts? Heard that from a Filipino girl.

    Over P12,000 for an appartment? I lived in Manila four years ago and found a house in a gated community for just over P13,000. Every bedroom had an AC in it. We loved it until we decided three bedrooms and a maid's quarters was move than we needed. Found a townhouse for P4,000 in a gated community. I think it is as it always is. It's who you know that can help find something you want.

      Its only for added security. Angeles City petty thieves are not interested in barb wires.... But thieves here in Manila would even take those barb wires & either use or sell to the junk shops for money.
