The best thing about watching your videos is that not only are your pigs so so cute, but also I know they are in really good hands with you. Thank you for takings such good care of them!
I can’t thank you enough for these videos! I thought I knew plenty about piggies. Until this last week. I went to Utah to pick up a piglet that I chose from my sisters house (same mom & dad as my Oink). They were outside all the time & had very minimal exposure to people. However, Gus Gus was not the typical almost feral 6 week old piglet. He warmed up to me instantly & was just the picture perfect vision of what people thing having a pet pig is about. On the last day I was in town. My sister asked me to take the remaining 2 piglets. 1 is from Gus’ s litter, the other piglet was from a pig that my sister rescued, this pig was so badly abused that it boils my blood. She ended up dying unexpectedly 2 weeks ago and left 1 piglet. This poor piglet. He is younger than the other litter, and so small. All he has known was fear. I’m working with him & he trusts me now...however when it is time to eat, he goes into crazy mode. I separate them to eat so they all get enough food. This little Phoenix (such an appropriate name for him) is a biter! I’ve never dealt with this kind of ferocity in a piglet. The more I hold him in the sling, the better he is getting, but he still gets pretty nuts and just wildly bites whatever is around him. I’ve gotten bit so many times by him that I’m sure I look like a pin cushion. How do I help him ? And why was Gus Gus so opposite of a normal piglet? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, not at all. I just am so baffled by his behavior. He potties outside only , he loves to be snuggled, cuddled & actually didn’t hate his 1st bath. Also Phoenix is still so small and skinny. He has a good appetite, when I soften his food. And he doesn’t have runny poops anymore. The vet can’t get them in for another 6 weeks, so I’m winging it at this point. I know you are the whisperer of pigs & that’s why I asked . Anyways thank you again for all your videos. Now that I’ve got these new little boys, I’ll be going through & re watching the pig videos .
We took in a year old pig that's been outside, and successfully potty trained her to go outside. She's a handful, like a toddler, but she's working out pretty great. Just wanted to send you some pics of her, can't figure out how to send you pics
Omg. When they root on your shins. Ouch! That stuffed animal is a good idea and I will use that in the future. Thank you. Luckily my babies started associating my shoes (crocs) with feeding time they mostly went after them. It's funny because If I was even a second late for feeding, I would hear their pitter patter running straight to my room and my shoes would end up out in the livingroom, under bed, tables, etc.lol
I have received some that are were 150-200 pounds. All my pigs are rescues so I can't be sure of their breeds or how they were cared for prior to my getting them. When I do get ones that are grossly obese, some to the point that they can't walk or see, I work on getting them to a healthy weight.
I am so sad. Almost 6mths ago I gave my baby pig that came to my home that I raised. I potty trained him, he loved me dearly and because I've rocked him since he was around 8wks old. He was that small. I had him seen by vets all tests including the test that must be done on wild pigs and he was clear. The vet said he was a mix between feral and potbelly. His name was Henry. So I'm disabled but he was my baby. I finally found a great home with acreage, a big pond and major pig lovers. They had a new puppy so he now has a buddy he grew up with. They had other dogs and ducks. Every morning his favorite thing to do was run to the pond and chase their ducks. Now he rules the roost even making the dogs get out of the dog house when he wants it. He still sleeps inside since he was potty trained. The problem I'm having is I've lost animals because of age or illness. I missed them dearly but for some reason I just can't get over Henry being gone. I gave him up because he needed buddies and more attention then I was able to give him. But the loss has broken my heart!
That obviously was a very hard and heartbreaking decision to make but you did what you knew was best for Henry. You can see that he is loved, is healthy, happy and has a good life. As hard as this is, know that you are a very special person for putting Henry's best interests first. If more people were like you I would not have had to start the sanctuary. 💗💗
Hey Adri I’ve been watching ur videos for 2ish years. What do u do about a pig rooting ur shins? How do I prevent this behavior. My boy I had previously who passed from age did it up until he passed. I’d prefer not to have this piggy doing it.
Have you ever dealt with a piglet that struggles to walk? My threee week old baby has something neurological going on and the vet is hoping she grows out of it. I’m a very new piglet mom and Im struggling! I love her so much already!
This isn't about bonding...I'm 10 years old and I have a pig and I have always wanted one...but my pig is very overweight... I feel like crying when I see you stomach because I know she eats too much...but because my age I don't get to decide her diet and things because I always have help caring for her...she is around 7 months old and I don't know what diet she needs to become a healthier and happier pig...do you have an idea on what I should feed her and how much?
How can I prevent my newborn piglets from getting squished under their mama. This is her first litter and she had 9 piglets. They are almost a day old but unfortunately she has squished 3 now by accident when she lays down. There are so many she can't seem to get a clear spot to lay. We love our piggies so its very heart breaking to find them dead when I wake up or come home from work. Any ideas to help? We keep a very close eye..but its still hard.
Oh no! I've not had that problem before, thankfully. I'm sure you've made sure they aren't limited by space so she's able to move around plenty and potentially get comfortable away from the babies, but that's really all I can think of :(. Each day they age they'll be able to move around and get away better - or scream louder so she knows to move. Good luck!!
Mine are all rescues so I do not know what breeds they are but assuming they are all mutts. It is better to look for a breeder, or better yet a rescue, that you can trust and that gives you full disclosure on they parents, their setup and the age of the piglet you are adopting. I have several videos in which I talk about what to look for when getting a piglet and even more on what to expect and how to care for them. Educating yourself before adopting is the best way to have the most fulfilling relationship with your pig.
Adri, every time I look at your pigs I literally squeal from how cute they are. XD
LOL!!
@@AdriRachelle they’re so cute

They are smart! You'd almost think they know how to tell time.
So cute...it takes time...but it is so worth it in about 2 to 3 weeks. First few days they will squeal until they develop the bond. So cute!!
So true!
Why are they so precious?!?!? 😍
Your pigs are so cute!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the tips ! They r so adorable! xoxo
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching
I’d have watched every minute of this even if it was 10 hours long. They are so adorable.
LOL...I'd put myself to sleep if I tried to do a 10 hour video, but I sure could watch my babies for 10 hours!
How do u know they have eaten enough?
There's nothing cuter❤
Oinky Oinkersssssss! 🐽💖💕🐷🤍
Do all of your pigs love toes? Mine both are obsessed with mine and my hubby’s toes. 😆
Awwwwww so cute I need them even though I have a pig
So how big do your older potbelly/ mini pigs grow?

This makes me want to get a pig and get a black widow so they can become friends 🕷️🐷🐖
I love your pigs. They are really cute. How exactly are you training that they aren‘t biting you?
My pigs don't bite. I have 5...lol If they do you tell them no like you would a child.
Ok thx

Do you recommand a pet pig for an apartment renter?
It would not be an ideal situation.
What type of pig should I get I am getting one just don’t know what bread I should get

Red waddle or pot belly are easiest

Reminds me of getting pigeons use to you
I wouldn't know about that since I haven't had to rescue any pigeons...yet. I will keep that in mind if the time comes. 😉
@@AdriRachelle if you ever have pigeon questions just let me know. Lol
Hmmm, absolute gorgeous, especially on the grill, medium done, with onions and barbecue sauce, texas style ... what a treat !!

You have rash on leg from keeping pigs inside your house!
Mmmm....no. The rash, as I said in the video, was from when I was working outside.
I suppose we are all vegan right?🍎
Yes, with an occasional transgression in the form of cheese.
