Hello everybody! If you watch this video I clearly say we will not be reprinting these Fourth of July shirts because that would make me a liar! I then proceed to say if your fast enough this time you can get one of the 3 new releases. I then proceed to show the 3 new releases, non of which are Fourth of July shirts.
I’m not sure how this has been misconstrued into me saying “he said he was selling more Fourth of July shirts”
We’ve got several emails asking where they are, including some real shitty emails.
100% if I say a shirt is limited edition then once they are gone they are gone. IF I PRINT MORE THEN IM A LIAR!
This rule will not change.
To people who misunderstood this I apologize you misunderstood this, however we don’t need rude emails telling us you’re done as a fan because you can’t get a shirt you wanted. Those are called temper tantrums and they’re wasted energy. We will not respond begging you to stay a fan over a simple misunderstanding…
And of course.. Happy Fourth of July to y’all! 🎉🎉🎉
Happy 4th of July Puddin family! #America 🇺🇸
Dude don’t waste ur time on cry babies , it’s tough to please all, I just want to end this with a happy 4th to u and ur family and God bless u for your service!!!!
PS keep up the awesome vids
I got my Puddin 4th of July shirt!!!!!🥳🥳💥
Happy Independence Day Puddin' and thank you for you service! People who send nasty emails over a misunderstanding are always going to be that way. It's sad you have to waste energy to help fix their wasted energy, but such is life.
Idiots are always with us, sir. Continue on and a Happy 4th to you!
Bill is such an icon. He's the best! I love how calm he always is, almost unbothered like "oh the starter's stuck on while driving. Meh, it'll be fine. Life's good". Nothing can get to this man. He's the iconic!
Some valve covers are specific to the side it was designed for! make sure the baffle is not rubbing against the rockers ,it did happen to me
What Bill Said🙂
I came here to say this. Look inside the valve cover for witness marks.
Just what i was going to say. Change the valve covers . This has happened to more than one person. Don't ask how i know.
2nd this, i came to say the same
Yep I bought these same ones and I found out that was the issue.
I switched sides and it went away luckily. They are cheap Chinese crap!!
Happy Independence Day Soldier, and Thank You for your service!!!!!
Hitting your valve cover, maybe? Love this car. Enjoy the heck out of your channel.
If they gave Emmys for UA-cam this series on the ‘61 Parkwood would win the DIY/Build series category. Just great editing and the starter spinning and you jumping out to yank off the wire. Great job of capturing everything, truly great.
If you take the valve cover off, look at the inside of the cover, you'll see exactly where the rockers are hitting.
Only happens when the ali cover is on, yelling it at the screen as you take the cover on and off and each time the sound goes away lol.
Yup so when on the noise is present when it’s off the noise isn’t. Something by basic deduction is hitting the cover.
Some people have no clue... I can't what a clown this guy has become, and a representative of the armed forces, no less!
Aluminum Covers have a way of magnifying the sound. In any event if it's running smoothly (banging on all 8?) It's fine it can tick a little run it see how she Goes.
@@Thomas-fo9zuyet here you are... Nobody said you had to follow his free content
From one vet to another, thanks for your service.
Sounds like it's hitting the valve cover. Hope you and the family have a wonderful 4th
The thick Fel Pro Cork gasket with some wether strip adhesive on both sides will get er done.
Double gasket works too
Roger that!
I was thinking if the sound stops when there s no cover that means its hitting. But I’m no mechanic, so there is that.
probably hitting the baffle try turning the valve cover the opposite direction.
Make sure those rocker studs aren't slowly pulling out of the head. Put a straight edge across all the studs and see if they vary in height. You may need to re-install them with some lock-tite.
Check for witness marks on the valve covers. The noise seems to only be there with the valve covers on. Just an idea.
Love seeing you and Bill cruising in this ole rig . All I could think was this is Pot County’s CHEECH AND CHONG. 😂🤣
Maybe those chrome valve covers are getting hit somewhere by the rockers
Thats exactly why they make those spacers! I’d run it without them for a min or two and see if the noise is gone!
5/16 Thick Valve Cover Gskt. Mr. Gasket. Part Number 179
Yes every time he remove it the noise stop!
I had that happen also get some old style covers
I’m pretty certain it is the valve covers
First, thank you for your service.
Second, I'm going to say it's the valve covers making the noise.
And lastly, thank you for being an awesome guy. Dude was stoked to see wagon.
I’d try different valve covers the sound goes way when it’s off . Runs pretty dam sweet gonna be a fun ride for sure!!
I have a set of rocker clips for adjusting GM valve trains just sitting up here in Mass!! Keeps the oil from flying every where. I haven't needed to use them for decades!!. I'll give them to you Puddin! My 70 Chevelle 454 SS adjustment was back off until you here the tick, then one full turn in. Never had a problem...but that was back in 81. A lifetime ago. Happy Fourth !!! Thank you for your service Puddin!!
Hot Damn! It was good to see Ray in the passengers seat rather than a tractors seat! He definitely looked excited to see the wagon running.
You gotta love Bill. He’s the closest thing to Tommy Chong you’ll find. A real smooth operator. Keep up the good work Puddin we love the content.
Good job on the wagon so far! Taking Ray for a ride was awesome!
Keep looking up and you will continue to be Blessed.
@3:00 if I had the money I would definitely buy the handyman Tshirt the 4 fingers anda hammer reminds me of my grandpa, we lost grandpa and grandma to covid Dec 19 and Dec 30 2020, but that shirt really reminded me of him. Good luck on your sales GOD BLESS
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!! HAPPY 4th PUDDIN
Thank you for your service
You probably have all ready fixed it but it could be the valve covers, baffle, or breather interference
Thank you for your service !!!
Most commonly, there is a stud threaded into the back of the PS pump for attaching a support bracket.
You are correct.
Mr Puddin, I know you said you were in the service. So you are a VET my GOOD MAN !! I just want to THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE FOR THIS COUNTRY!!! Blessings to the Puddin Family!!
Happy July 4th to you and yours Puddin! That wagon sure is shapin' up nice. Glad you got to take her on a long drive, and glad Bill and Ray got to ride shotgun.
Puddin awoke the following morning to find all of the starters in his garage disassembled.
The only clue as to who the perpetrator might be - flexi hose. Enough to stretch from Pott County to North Dakota...
Happy 4th and thank you for your service 🙏 also look inside your valve covers to see if they are rubbing. I know this from experience.
Happy 4th to you also sir.😊 Thanks for your service.
Happy 4th of July to you Puddin and all the rest of you beautiful Americans from a Canadian Brother 🎉♥️🇨🇦🇺🇸♥️🥂👍😎
Have a great upcoming Dominion Day friend.
I have fond memories of living near Windsor, Ontario and as a kid I loved the weeklong celebration.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇨🇦🇨🇦✌️
Bill made me laugh what the bleep was that loving this build can't wait for more nice one puddin
Thanks for your service Puddin great job on the wagon looks and sounds good
That was a good video showing the test drive with the older generation,Brings back memories for us older guys.......................................Fort Worth,Tx
Impressive work on that old rig. Enjoying this series.
I now have 2 limited edition t shirts. Can't wait to see y'all tackle that wiring. Thanks for sharing with us.
Tough to beat a SBC. Front bumper and exterior is dialed. Cool build and always entertaining.
Thank you for starting out your video honoring our great country...America!!!
Keep your head up bud! It might seem like a cluster right now and nothings going your way but life takes turns and things happen for a reason. Whether you know know or will find out later, stay positive and keep grinding. We got your back.
I was yelling at the video. Check the valve cover. It didn't make noise on the cut valve covers. The aluminum ones are shaped different. Rocker could be rubbing on the valve cover. Love the car and thank you for another great video !!
Love how it's coming out, can't wait to see it with the front bumper on her
yes! i was hoping we'd see it at the end
I remember you saying everything for this car is buy and bolt on, seems much easier than having to fab a bunch of stuff but it feels like this build has had the most piddly and frustrating little dumb things that take forever to fix. So much fun to watch, I'm not a mechanic and your luck feels like mine every time I gotta play mechanic. Keep up the good work! ❤👍
I am excited for you a long road. It was strange I felt relieved when you took the drive. You do a great job at putting us there with you. Congrats.
You might want to pull that PCV valve out of the passenger valve cover and inspect it . Rocker arm might be hitting it . Worth a look anyway.
Bill said exactly what I was thinking when it made that sound 🤣
Happy 4th to you and yours and thank you for your service Sir!
At 59:05 I was screaming, "Open the dang burn vent winders!!" You finally did that.😂
Back when I had a '70 VW bug, opening the vent windows would slow the top speed by about 4 mph.
Got you a good rig there man. I can tell Ray & Bill really enjoyed it.
With those threads its the opposite of Red Green's quote. "If they don't find you handy at least they'll find you handsome" 😄
You should keep that plate with the car!It made it this far in it's life with it still on!Depends on how you feel about it.Put a paint mark on each push rod, run it and see if they rotate and that would tell you the lifters and push rods are ok.Just seen that on Vice Grip Garage.
Take a look at the filthy Rusty outside of that car and you tell him to put a paint mark on something?
Back in the 80s we had cam problems with 350s, I always used running valve adjustments. I had a set of plugs with wire clips that clipped on the rocker and plugged the oil holes .
Awesome Puddin Time. 🎉❤🎉
Just took me two week to replace lifters in my 2005 f150. Pulling the rockers and changing the lifters went fast - it was trying to take everything apart and waiting for parts that killed me. Rusted valve cover bolts, rusted erg bolts. Had to drill out some broken bolts. Took 6 hours to get one valve cover off - and the cover broke (it's plastic) in the process. Here's my point: so good to see it's not just me this happens to. Not that I'm happy for your struggles - but I feel like less of an idiot. Love your channel. Wish I could dance like you.
Love it when the ex-owner gets to go for a ride.
👍🏻 😁
Happy 4th of July from a first gen immigrant who loves this country. Keep creating amazing content. Best to you and your family
Usually I’m not a fan of black out chrome… but I think your wagon would look sick af with black out trim and chrome… would suit it.
I am a fan of black out chrome, and I agree. Lol
An old dirt track racer trick from long ago: gently, slowly tighten down SBC rockers (with hydraulic lifters) until the engine skips. Slowly back off the rocker nut until it stops skipping then loosen the rocker-nut one full turn. The lifters are compressed more than usual. Strangely, this increases engine torgue, throttle response and perfectly safe at high RPMs beyond 7,400 RPM. I drag raced a 327ci like this for many years, no problems.
Happy 4th of July to you and your fam Puddin, and every American that reads this. From myself and my family in Canada.
I really liked you showing car to the previous owner at the wreaking yard- It’s amazing that that 1961 Chevy is road worthy again 👍👍
Thank you for your service Jacob, and happy Independence Day.
Thank you for your service and the Patriotism displayed by Old Glory. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hay Puddin you may know but thier are clips that are made to clip onto the rockers to deflect the oil down while the valves are adjusted. Just a heads up . Happy fourth 💥🇺🇲🇺🇲👍💪💪👍🇺🇲✝️🙏
I worked in a tire store in the '90s. My boss would always say, "drive it & love it".
I had a set of valve covers that did not have enough clearance on the 355 I built for my 47 ford. Put taller wider valve covers in it and it cleared right up. Sounded exactly like the noise you were chasing. Took me a while to realize because the rockers are stock 350.
That Chevy looks sweet sitting low and even sweeter cruising down the road 70-80 mph!!!!
Great job my Friend, it's turned out to be an absolutely badass and
very sexy wagon!!!!
Awesome vid again...love the intro..."MERICA!!!!!
While I'm letting things warm up, I don't dance, mainly because my back is shot. Instead, I make up songs in the style of show tunes, and just belt them out! Neighbors think I'm strange...imagine that!
Enjoy our Independence Day with the family, and thank you for your service sir!
Happy Independence Day to you and your family Puddin. And thank you for your service.
Yes, sounds like the rockers are hitting the cover.!❤
Nice job on that build! You really covered all the necessary areas for safety and performance/reliability to make it a daily driver. Thanks for sharing!
I've seen worn out valve-guides on SBC engines that tap loudly. The assumption was always Lifters but replacing lifters was not effective. The heads had to be removed for guide repairs. While the engine is running and tapping use a small pry-bar to put pressure on the side of the valve spring. The noise will stop. My first time seeing this was 1980 and an extremely rare defect.
My buddy nate just passed away in your tee-shirt, I just wanted to let you know how much he loved what you do. 😢❤, keep it up, for nate, he passed away the 4th.
Started watching 5hrs after release and immediately went to buy a shirt and found they were sold out. I’ll be quicker next time. Glad business is good for you and the family. Love your content.
Alright dude-o, watch your video, I believe the answer to your chattering is there. Pretty sure its them valve covers. Each time they were removed or the "modified" chromeies were inatalled, it was nice and quiet. Had a similar issue on an old Mopar I had years ago. Just my $0.02 worth.
Beyond that, good to FINALLY see Mr. Horsepower back on the road! BRAVO!!!
Happy 4th, and thank you for your service!
Great video glad to see her on the road she sounds awesome i think Bill and Ray really enjoyed the ride can't wait to see the full build video Brother and see you and Ray Cruise her up Route 66 ....love you guy's keep them coming 👍
I was going to say to look for witness marks in the valve covers, but I see it won't be news...
I will say the pump has a stud in that hole usually for a bracket that is optional. Some covers have the hole, some don't.
You need some oil deflectors for those rockers during valve adjustment. They sell 16 piece kits for them. Still makes a mess, but 95% less.
I feel so invested in this wagon. When he takes it for a drive I am cheering.
Pops is right down the road from me, don’t be surprised if I get a selfie with Mr Horsepower in from of the store if I see y’all there. I hope we see this wagon on Hotrod Power Tour next year. Swee5!
22:39 the hole is where the stud goes that the rear bracket attaches to. It threads into the body of the pump, and it also helps seal the pump cover to the pump body. That eill be the source of your leak.
@Puddinsfabshop those GM Saginaw pumps NEED those bolts in the back to keep from leaking! The bolts are originally used for different brackets to mount them to the engine, and there’s o rings inside there that seal between the pump housing inside and the reservoir on the outside, so if there’s no bolt, there’s no clamping force on that o ring, and you have a leak! Looks as if you got-r-dun!
You need one those fender rollers like one I got. she bolts right onto the hub with an adjustable arm that rolls back and forth and rolls that lip over and if you keep going she'll flare the fender a little. Does the trick!
Yeah, that power steering pump would have had a short 3/8" bolt in that hole, the head on the factory bolt is really thin as well. It's used to hold the pump to the reservoir.
Your editing game has been stepped up. Nice work
Hey Puddin
Using an old fashion lamp timer on that there battery charging power strip is a great idea. You probably have a few of them hangin around your house. Check your Christmas lights box, or the ol kitchen junk draws. Once set up, you can plug a bright red danger indicator light into the power strip for double the safety, double the fun. Hope you set up a charging station like this in the new place, so charging batteries, can't be left on by mistake.
Tuesday morning coffee and PFS. "What the hell is that noise?" The look on your faces was great.
It made me giggle when you talked about shelling the starter. I haven't heard that in some time.
Thank you brother.
Go Air Force.
Mate she is good gud you should be proud of the job you've done on her and given her a whole new lease of life love how she looks and sounds 😊 a couple of snags along the way ut that's just doing a build
Looking forward to what comes next top man
As others have said, it’s likely a valve cover issue. I believe the passenger side valve cover is upside down. The breather hole should be toward the rear of the engine on that side, and front of the engine on the drivers side
Yes had the same thing on a set of M/T covers. 👍
Lisle sells rocker stopper valve adjusting oil reducer tool that keeps oil from splashing out while you adjust the rocker arms.
Man I love this build so much super happy to see it driving now
I went thru 4 pair of valve covers from speedway motors all of them even with stock rockers hit on the pushrod side . One set were comp cams aluminum ones. For flat tappet stuff or roller I stay with Johnson lifters pricey but best made.
Also the little flare adapter in the power steering pump fitting is an adapter to make it flare. Somewhere in the mid seventies gm went from flare to an o-ring fitting in the pressure hose. Try a pump from a 73 down gm car or truck. The pressure regulator that your removing fits a lot of different pumps
Thanks for your service Mr Puddintain!
9/16" swivel socket on a 3' extension going over the tranny make bellhousing bolts a 5 minute job. Add a quart of ATF to the oil and drive it, the detergent in the ATF often clears sticky lifter issues. Don't worry it won't hurt a thing, it's also a great tip for late model chevy DOD issues.
Here's a thing: Aluminum valve covers with deep fins work kinda like speakers. The sound actually gets amplified by the fins, in the same way heat is dissipated by having more surface area. They'll always be a little noisier than flat steel.
Love how that car sounds and looks. Happy Independence Day Puddin and family.
You may have a speck of dirt down where that power steering hose fits,,my pump leaked on my camaro,,drove me nuts,I finely put a line wrench on it and turned it. Tighter then it should have to stop the leaking,,but it worked,no more leak,,
Wish we had cars like that in 🇬🇧, we could build. Excellent job. Respect!
We had a 350 crate put a comp cam motha thumper cam in it, done everything like they said, eat ate 2lobes off the cam within 10 minutes of break in, summit said they had a bad bat hot cams that we wasn’t the only one, it sound just like yours does, which I hope that’s not the case Hello from North Georgia
It is looking real good, sounding real good, and driving as well. Great job
Now I am down right mad. I really wanted one of those model A shirts. This video has been up for 5 hours. Sold out. Please rerun that one
