Love how Bill has gotten more comfy with the camera. Great episode
Bill reminds me of tommy Chong
It made me laugh when he said he got recognized at Walmart. I'm glad he's having fun with it.
@@blaircrocker9845 FOR SURE BUDDY, hell all he needs is one of those left handed cigs....ha ha ha.....
Yeah its good but lets hope he doesnt get to comfy.😂😂
Yup! We love BILL. MORE BILL!
You need to lend Mortske a fire extinguisher! 😂 Love your videos!! My husband, son and I watch them each week (both channels). Still waiting to buy a Great Puddini t-shirt. ❤
That fire was weird like lighter fluid
The inline fuse link by the high blower relay is the fuse for that relay. The wires below the fan motor are for the blower resistor to give you low and medium speeds. If you remove the resistor and check it probably has the mouse remains burned on it 😅! Love the work! Takes a lot of guts to finish one like this but you have got it now 😊 👍!!!
I hate wiring and electrical. Be glad you didn’t LS swap it! HEI with a one-wire alternator is plenty! Keep her simple! You’re the best entertainment on You Tube!
Its Monday and another great video by the puddin man I still love your little antics and sense of humor puddin
Careful with that wiring. I watched Mortske set another one on fire today.
It wasn't the Buick LeSabre vid I've yet to watch was it?
And he didn't want to use a fire extinguisher on it.
@@johnhopkins6658 .....just a couple bottles of drinking water.....
Didn't detect much urgency with the near inferno. 😂
@@jangles1839 Watch it. 😂
Pro Tip: I like to use black wires often to hide them, but you can put red heat shrink on the end where it connects to still indicate positive.
Yes Bill got way too excited when he seen the marks inside the valve cover.
jasonmorales, yeah he shit the bed as puddin would say huh.....
just wanted you to know that me and my dad watch these videos together every week, and it gives us an opportunity to bond. So thanks for the great content!
Spend All The Time You Can With Him...
Yeah spend all the time you can. My pops is why I'm into cars and today is his birthday. But he died a year ago on june 12th. Time is short.
Hey, you don't need the voltage regulator. The alternator is internally regulated. You may want to look up a wiring diagram from the 70's car or truck for under the hood connections
I was thinking that too, especially with the F (field) A (armature) terminals.. That's all generator stuff, which isn't applicable here.
Hey there Puddin ,
You can get your head lamp retaining screw clips in the Dorman Help section at your local parts store ! You may also want too replace your dimmer switch on the floor , and also add grounding straps to your front clip and firewall , they are just as important as a positive for proper electrical circuit to work correctly 😀 👍 😉
It's Monday here we go
You mean here we go again
At the factory, those threaded inserts are referred to as "Scrivets". They still use them today for ease of installation. That ticking sound is pretty normal for those early small block Chebbys. Way to go Puddin' Man.
The wagon is looking and sounding great Puddin, and your new place is coming along nicely, WE’RE ALL GONNA LOVE IT along with you sir.
Dash lights is probably going to be the headlight switch or instrument cluster ground. Rotate the knob on the headlight switch to make sure you're not just dimmed down or dirt in the switch. Run the dash screws in and out to get a better ground.
Chasing electrical is fun if you have enough room to work which is challenging at times. When you were trying out the heater fan switch I was expecting a cloud of mouse house to come flying out. That stuff just keeps coming even after you think you got it all, hate it with a passion. Good luck on the move, exciting times for you and the family.
Just when ya think the show couldn't get any funnier... ol' Bill comes along g and has me in stitches 😂
Is ole Bill going to be able to ride his bicycle out to the new shop or is it going to be too far.😅
He is going to need to drive out. It's a good few miles away.
I dont know how you have the patience you do. If it would have been me who put the fan spacer and fan all together but realized I forgot the pulley, something expensive would have ended up smashed and broken, lol! Great episode Jacob!
That relay you were questioning on is for the A/C system, along with the "spare" wires in that area. Those would be for the compressor clutch and the cut-in/cut-out switches.
Been some 45-50 years since I worked on a vehicle of that vintage, so memory isn't to solid.
I love Bill, Glad to see him warming to the camera,
If you use the resistor wire it can possibly catch fire. You need a switched hot for an HEI. Full 12 volts.
The green wire is for the a/c compressor. Using dielectric grease on your bulbs and wire connections helps. Especially on the main bulk head on the firewall. Love your shows Skeeter
Can’t hurt having Bill bring the burritos. The Wagon is starting to come along nicely 👍
Got my merch today! Thank you for the timely delivery even with the shipping problems....
The slice and dice sticker is on my weld cart next to my run your welder not your mouth sticker!
Don't you hate it when your junk gets in your way or when your junk gets crushed unintentionally while your working...Love your work Puddin & cheers from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍
Really sucks when you get the sense a reliable shop is falling off.
Happens so often like you said, someone important passes, or moves on; things look a little more behind or worse for wear when you go by, then the work starts to get affected.
Was surprised there were no complaints on the turnaround time of the alternator, wasn't surprised to see they assembled the casing backwards.
That's why we love you puddin, you actually care about what we say and are willing to entertain our ideas even when you think we might not be correct an then you'll even admit your mistake vs playing it off like you found nothing or you found it on your own, so much respect for a content creator who cares about his viewers enough to read our comments and trust us enough to give it a good ole collage try, thanks man your awsome an deserve your success so much more than 98% of the other content creators
Most won't read our comments or play it off like they don't and figured stuff out on there own
I was one of the people that said that it was the valve cover. I knew you would figure it out. It was another great video Puddin.
Yay! Monday Puddin video.
For your windshield wipers: turn them to high grab the wipers and pull on them firm but consistent. Have bought several old cars they were just stove up and worked fine after working them free
and lube EVERYTHING first. motor is probably locked up with some light rust that would be cleared up if it got moving briefly.
If you haven’t used Deoxit before, it helps revive electrical connections. I found it when the volume knob in my radio wouldn’t change volume. A little spray every year or so keeps it working properly.
I use it for all my electrical needs, corroded bulb sockets, etc. Great product, and one can has lasted me years.
Electrical lubey dubey!
there's a lot of different deoxits I'm guessing you have d5... I repair old hi fi so have a whole slew of different cans 😅✌🏻
@@BariLopesh Yes sir, the D5 spray is what I have been using. I bought the squeeze bottle of the D5, but it wasn’t as effective.
That is what I was thinking. But the vintage electronics guys are saying Deoxit is harsh and disintegrates some materials, so they are moving to Nutrol.
Another vote for Deoxit D5. Amazing stuff, worth the money IMHO. 👍👍
I use it on all my vintage electronics and never had any issues (70's receivers, 80's video game consoles, etc). For car stuff, I don't ever see this being an issue though.
@@KameraShy FOR SURE!!!!!
I think it looks and sounds good but I think you still need to tweak the timing just a little bit cuz it's still has a little hard start when you start it you can hear it has a hesitation just a little bit tweak that distributor just a little bit more and get rid of that hard start and it'll be good 👍
I agree may want to send him an email
Love this channel
Your videos have helped with everything going on in my life right now. Thank you, love the video. And the little stuff is the hardest and the longest part of a build.
HELL YEAH, IT'S GONNA BE ANOTHER GOOD ONE!!
Good old Bill found the problem! Glad to see him. Have a blessed day!
Yay! Its Puddin Time! Also, I got my "Someday Model A" T-Shirt finally. I hope you gave the USPS a skecher up the wahoo! Best Channel Ever!
You'd never guess that thing was sitting in a junkyard a few months ago..let alone from 1970. A true brought back to life vehicle.
I’ve said it many times but dang this build is awesome! I love me a good station wagon!
I loved the "microwaved honey bun" line 😂😂😂. I love the summer time. I always say, no matter how hot it gets, I don't have to scrape the heat off my windshield or shovel the heat off my driveway.
Nah, you just have to mop yourself off the seat and the floor.... Personally would rather a little cold as there are only so many clothing layers you can take off and still be considered polite company....
Man oh man I'm ready for a great video again! YAY!
Awesome work keeping the old stuff on the road, hardest way but its the cheapest and looked like the best fix on the wagon! Glad to see you crusing it down the road!!
If I’m installing a stock harness I usually use the “pull the wires and see what fits where” method, it starts sometimes……
I bought a 69 Datsun 510 some years ago. It had some questionable wiring done by previous owners. first thing I did was went to Kinkos and had the wiring diagram blown up to poster size, and laminated. Best tool in my garage. Just an idea.
Hey Puddin..run 12 volts to the wiper motor just to see if it works..if so and you are getting power to the wiring you may have a bad switch.remember it sat for all those years it could be bad...and it's a 2 speed..see you on the next one Cheers 🍻🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The loft looks really good! 😊
If you ever struggle getting the riv nut tool in somewhere - you can crimp em down using a bolt with a nut on it . Run the nut down the bolt , thread the bolt into the Rivnut , then run the nut down (use a washer so the nut doesn’t tear up the riv nut)
This is one of the better videos on this build...love it!
Start the week off with puddin and finish it off with Vice grip. Not a bad Monday or Friday if I do say so
Just watched this entire build... Again.
Might just be my most favorite thing I've seen on this channel yet.
Hot damn another episode of Puddin 🔥 I've been working on cars for forty years and I didn't realize you could put the valve cover on upside down either😡 the impala is looking and sounding great. Keep up the good work and the cool videos 👍✌️🇺🇲
The Inside Lights are backup lights! Belair and Biscayne is Outside is park and break lights. I have a 1963 Impala SS and, Good Luck With Project ! Love Watching Your Videos! Keep Up The Great Work my friend. I'm From North Carolina.
There was a left and right side with some of those valve covers. So the filler and PC valve can be in the front.
I've said this a few times 😅
Just a thought. Itd be really cool if you slick bill and mortske could build the model A in a video. Just one week thrash from model A to running but not perfect
Hey Puddin ,
I forgot to ask when are you going to install your front bumper ? I think it would look really sweet and also make it look lower to the blacktop !!!
"Dirty Ground" was my wife's nickname in junior high, or so she says.... Excellent video, thanks for sharing.
Ben waiting lol perfect timing just got parked to watch
I'm not one for lowered vehicles but the wagon looks nice. I keep watching you they might grow on me.
And, that's how it starts...😉
Low an slow... Well I'm always speeding so.. Ahhh... Damn..
Low life... Hehehe..
Love that wagon!
It’s a beautiful set of wheels my pops had a four door one not that wagon
Only puddin could make a wiring video interesting 🤣🤣
Correct!!
try twisting the headlight switch knob back and forth. That's how you dim or brighten the dash lights and it might just have a dirty connection.
I'd pull the switch and give it a good spray with electrical contact cleaner. In fact, I'd do it to all the switches.
You have done a great job reviving the great wagon. You taught me a lot about troubleshooting electrical.
I'm wearing my model A shirt while I watch this. Love it! Keep it up Mr. Puddin!
My husband and I got our shirts today.. Thank You Puddin and family we Love You All....
your 1 wire alternator should be internally regulated so no need for original voltage regulator
Finshing a project and driving it for the 1st time is the best reward!
Really like the 61 wagon series. We have been repairing and restoring x-frame cars for years. Those old wiper motors on the 61-62 Chevys are a real pita to change. The usual problem we find is they just need a good cleaning of the contacts on the park switch under the cover and removal of the old hardened grease. Make sure the brass ground strap is in good shape too. Good luck.
the only thing I appreciate more than your honesty, is your devotion to your family. You are the BEST, keep it up man
Dude the Jitterbug slam was on point. 😂😂
Got my stickers today that I ordered last week. Look great and will go in my new shop that just got floors poured over the weekend
Puddin' just may be the hardest working man on this U-Tube. I bet you will miss having Taco Boy just a few doors down once you move.
I’m 61 and have built small blocks all my life
A good running Chevy motor has a small amount of valve tap I adjust the valves to zero lash plus 1/4 turn
It gives you more low end torque
A little tap is just fine
I’ve built somewhere around 600 motors
"With a little finger action you're good to go" Definitely no chance of that on a t-shirt 🤣
Monday is my new favorite day when it’s Puddin time with a new video.
It would be nicer and stay nicer if they wrapped it with the black cloth tape. I love the stuff. Wiring just sucks for us that don’t know much about it. But I do know you should buy an OFC Big 3 wiring kit. Going direct from your alternator to your battery.
Puddin you do good work and do most everything properly. I’d love to have that wagon when your through with it but would want A/C.
Yep, Monday does not officially start until, “Puddin’ Time.”
@@Ron_Masterjohn .....when YOU'RE through with it.......learn English......
Bill makes me smile 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Man, O Man, here we go with wiring again. I spent last week rewiring a VW BUS and it was not fun. Good Luck and I love this build.
I know the pain! I had to re do the wring in my 66 Elk. A hole had cut wires and used wire nuts and crimp connecters in the fuse box! Solder and shrink wrap saved the day!
Heater resister is on the heater box under the dash.
Puddins the only scheduled programing iv tuned into regularly since dial up and cable TV
Agreed 😂
you did a really good job of fixing the electrical on that wagon really interesting
Here we go. It's the best part of Monday y'all. It's Puddin time y'all. Sit down and shut up and enjoy. 😂😂😂. It's coming along. Can't wait to see more videos soon my puddin. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Thanks again puddin and family ❤️
Dude!! Love the wagon!! Dash lights!! Old Chevy p/u pull the light switch, clean the grounds and pull the cluster and check the bulbs!!!✌️
I believe Matthew's workshop class has turned into a fulltime cameo. Next generation of wrench turners
Just finished this Monday watching pudding in my new house
Wiring is my favorite. It's just like magic, P-tang. You got this!
My 64 wipers were completely inoperable. took the cover off the motor and cleaned all the old grease out of it, packed it with new and they've worked flawlessly ever since. not sure how similar they are though
All fans of puddin be sure to watch all ads it helps I know it’s hard not too lmao but I watch all ads to support him and his beautiful family ✌️✌️✌️✌️
I watched 2, 2:35 adds in one video.. Done..... Ahh.. Lol
DUDE... you just saved me so much time. Same valve covers...same problem. had them for years... just swapped them onto a new motor... valve tick passenger side....never even considered that they weren't symmetrical ...
My father always used a wood dowel, to find the tic or rattle. One end on the engine the other to you ear. It’s lowteck but will get you to the problem. Just one of you biggest fans
I wish someone here in Florida would bring me TACOS/BURRITOs for lunch like Bill!! No fooling Puddin, I love the 61 wagon so can't to see it all done!
I'm glad for you that you have gotten the gremlins fairly straightened out. Good job!
Good show and I'm also one that likes your mail time once and awhile hope you consider bringing it back from time to time
I am an Optician and have a bunch of vintage safety glasses. I sent an email, and I chatted with your wife over a year ago about getting a copy of your Rx, but never heard back. I also have the S10 convertible. I would post pics, but can't here. Lol
Bill reminds me of the character Leo from That '70s Show!! 😂😂
Oddly, I enjoy automotive wiring, owned a car audio shop for many many years.
this was a good video. i like the editing and extra stuff you put into this one.
We recently installed a rebuilt 350 (.040 over) mild Comp flat tappet cam. Did the cam break-in and all seemed fine. Then just as we were finalizing the last few details, it developed a pronounced ticking sound. Did everything you have been doing. Pulled lifters, cam lobes looked okay.... ran with valve cover off, top end was getting oiled. Replaced or reset three loose rocker studs, changed lifters, replaced rockers, valve covers... even went to 20W50 in sheer desperation... but still ticking. Used a dial indicator to check run-out on the #7 exhaust valve and there was a slight deviation on that lobe. Took the adjustment down a touch and it went away. Runs great! GOOD LUCK with your set!
I'd love to see an episode with you going over to Bill's place and help with one of his projects.
What a nice surprise to see a fresh one on the table after frying in the Florida sun today, did struts control arms and links on my car, no more lofty wafty
I enjoy the wiring diagnostics. Building the engine, transmission, rear end is easy. Fabrication and wiring shows ya who the men are.
