UConn's Board Banging Bunnies, Edwards, Dorka & Griffith played well. LouLou came out of her shooting slump. Nika did her Energizer Bunny routine, and then, when the storm looked the worst, when UConn was down 11 points, Sweet Caroline Ducharme came off the bench and light the light. As Geno said, "She's a tough kid. She can make the three and she can go inside and score. She knows what to do with the ball." I'll bet her parents cried warm tears of joy when they heard that! What a way to come back from an injury. Thank you, Sweet Caroline for working with the team. Every girl gave what she had and they deserve to be 23-4.
After this season the NCAA should love UConn for providing them with so much fan attention. The teams who beat UConn have the best experience of their lives and the other close games are amazing for viewership and tv. UConn's shooting % was terrible. They couldn't make a layup and the refs just wouldn't call a lot of the fouls. You can see though why Creighton is near the top of the conference. They play solid defense and shoot well, at least a lot of the time. What can be said besides bad shooting and refs? Welcome back to the game Carol. Is Lou's knee problem serious? Get Aaliyah lots of rest. She and Dorka have been working hard and it's finally showing on Aaliyah's game. I loved the blocks by Dorka and Aubrey.
So glad we pulled out a win! And from what I saw, Creighton played stand up good solid basketball. Their shooting was insane and their defense was tough but not dirty. ❤
Oh don't fool yourself. They threw some dirt out there too. Just wasn't as much as some other teams except for their team defense against Aaliyah and Dorka when they got in layup position.
Helluva game, helluva game. So many times the Huskies could have given up. Creighton was relentless with offensive movement and defensive pressure. But, but, UConn never gave up. These young women are tough, so tough.
This team started off playing well, like a smoothly oiled machine, Fudd got injured and they still managed to play well...the last, like six or eight games have been scary. They are not playing well, they may be exhausted as others have mentioned, and the bench only provides rest minutes but rarely points [Good Game Caroline Ducharme]. They have barely won teams they should have blown away. If this continues they may not even make the sweet 16.
Thank you MJ for posting the game 🙏 they gutted out this win but man oh man this team is a bit discombobulated. I hope they can get back to the cohesiveness they had at the beginning of the year despite Azzi being out. it showed today how important Caroline is for this team so I’m glad she’s back. UConn really needs to get better at rebounding and limit turnovers. Man if they can clean those 2 things up they will be alright. These will be essential things to have together come the big east tourney and for March. I know they’re tired but they have to continue to push and keep their eyes on the prize. Ayanna may not be playing to her fullest potential but she is a decent defender and can help. Also he should give nika a break before media timeouts so she can rest for a minute or two each quarter especially now that Caroline is back she can handle the ball a little bit, just enough while nika rest. And I know Amari is slow and a bit sloppy but her presence in the paint makes a impact just simply by her being tall. Geno can use her for a minute or two before media time out to give Aaliyah or Dorka a break as well. Geno can use his bench he just chooses not to but it will be helpful for these last 4 games. We will see how things play out. Good win UConn. Let’s go huskies
Lots of teams smelling blood in the water and a timely opportunity to beat a UCONN legendary program. Historically, UCONN's dominance was so well known that other programs simply didn't believe they could win. This season, with obvious schedule fatigue and missing key players to injuries... as well as wins and close games made by other teams.. the dominance fear factor is no longer there. Its a huge milestone for any program to get a win against UCONN, and the result is what we are seeing today.. maximum effort to get the win against UCONN. Huskies don't often wither under stress... so its making for some exciting basketball where you can't assume the outcome. So long as its GOOD basketball being played by both teams.. its fun to watch.
Really thought this team would be playing at a higher level at this point in this season. They were rolling a couple weeks ago. They're probably feeling the wear and tear from having a thin bench most of the season.
So far UCONN is its own biggest enemy because they keep on not scoring for long periods of time, neither from the outside nor from the paint where Aaliyah and Dorka werent even facing a center in this game. Aaliyah had a couple of bad games in a row now, she seems really not in the game e.g. when you see her just throwing the ball away. Dorka didnt have a good game, just like Aaliyah surprising against a team that doesnt really have a big to contest. Aubrey and Nika strong on defense but both not scoring is an issue when you dont have dedicated shooters to compensate. Lou improved a lot compared to last game and Caroline is just back from injury so it is understandable she isnt at 100% yet. The bench (Amari, Ayanna and Ines) is still an issue. All in all more shots, way more offball movement, more in and out plays and a lot more passing: this looks like a promissing Huskies pack again. Last games where they just ran head first into the opposing defense and loosing the ball were so sad to watch, this was a really fun and dynamic game again, although the scoring efficiency could need some improvement. On defense they let Creighton shoot a lot of 3s uncontested. Having Caroline back also felt good finally not having 5 players on the floor almost exclusively. Hopefully Azzi joins soon, too. Hey, on the plus side only 7 turnovers that is something to work on!
Quiet....this is way TOO much incriminating information. We were doing way better fooling the public when we complained that our players were being grabbed, bruised, beaten, and rolled; then threw a water bottle on the court to dramatize it! Remember, keep blaming the refs for not making calls...this is the ticket. As long as we all whine in unison, we can pull the excuses off. NEVER acknowledge these players simply aren't yesteryear's UCONN players and won't win it.
@@waldolydecker8118 I dont get your point. It is no secret that this isnt the best team UCONN ever had. Noone claims they should be ranked #1. What people are seeing and why they keep cheerig for those 5 women is the way how they keep fighting and the spirit they have shown. But instead of constantly complaining about the situation UCONN is in with all its injuries and all the odds it has to fight through it is way nicer to still root for those Huskies and their performance they were still able to accomplish. In the end this season will be exciting to the end because they could end end at any given moment not making it to the sweet sixteen or could make some upsets and make their way all the way to the finals. Are they a favorit in the books for winning? No. Are they a fan favorit? Yes, for sure.
Anybody gonna congratulate UConn on committing just 7 turnovers??? Nobody? After spending the most part of the season putting the UConn player's feet in the fire for TOs, now nobody says, "Good job!" Sad. (Creighton had 15)
Watching again and wondering… why is it that every time Creighton was called for a foul Megan Culmo says to let them play or that didn’t really look like a foul but when UConn is called for a foul she agrees? Am I the only one who thinks this?

Way to go, my man!
I was listening to this on the radio and couldn't believe how UConn found a way to win this game
Great Match,Great Win,Great Victory,Let's Go Huskies 😎👍👍🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀!!!,Yes
UConn is not going anywhere without Azzi; the final four streak is over. Creighton is probably a sweet 16 threat depending on the draw.
It's funny that SC people watch UConn replays. That 4 pt win must have scared y'all!!!
Is the wrist considered part of the hand?

A shadow of the earlier team. Sigh. And Meghan Culmo has started saying some dumb stuff.
Just enough good luck for the Huskies and bad luck for the Bluejays.
