What a great intense at the edge of your seat game this was fun to watch! Awesome battle back and forth all the way to the end! Welcome back #33! Thank you to all the ladies on both teams and coaches!😎😁!
This is how I expected the Creighton game to go especially when Creighton hit their 3s. It just appears that since UConn blew these conference teams the first time around, fans expected the same when they played the second time. I give credit to both UConn offensive funk and the opponents for actually giving UConn their best shot. I thought LL-S was in a shooting slump, Edwards is not doing that much better. Don't necessarily agree with the lady announcer saying that Edwards should JUST pass the ball out when guarded by 2 or 3 people. If you have an advantage, rather it is height, speed, or power; you should be able to do it. The Aaliyah down in South Carolina does it all. They way UConn played defense was almost reminiscent when they played Maryland in College Park. The bigs perimeter defense (Edwards & Griffin). They need to play with the intensity like they're down 11, all the time.
I hate it when a game is decided by a "mystery foul". Creighton did have a chance to tie the game with two free throws at the end. UCONN did come back from 11 down in the 4th quarter. Saturday afternoon UCONN faces Villanova again.
As a UConn fan, I admit it was a Bad Foul call on Ducharme, there was no foul And that Call probably gave the game to UConn. BUT- on the last play of the game Aaliyah Edwards DID NOT foul Jensen, so Creighton had a chance to tie it.
Great game by Creighton -- especially on D. Terrible game by the Zebras. Hat's off to Lou and Caroline who willed UCONN to a W. Who am I to question Geno and CD -- two of the best coaches in the women's game? But these women are definitely tired, and he had 9 available, so why did only 6 play? At some point you gotta' think to yourself: "Ok so we're -10 when we put the subs in for 10 minutes total, but a well-rested starting five goes +20 when they play 30 minutes vs only being +5 when they are forced to play 40 minutes each." Nika is the only player who should maybe play 40 in a game like this. You have to rest your bigs for at least 5 minutes for them to be effective -- inside play is physically demanding at this level. Those missed layups and 3-footers are a product of tired legs.
The charge/block call needs to be revised. The bailing out of a defender that's not trying to play d but is trying to draw the charge needs to be eliminated from the game imo.
Refs, refs, refs - called a foul on Edwards at the end; Jensen had the opportunity to tie the game and missed. Creighton had their opportunity to tie the game, and possibly win in OT; tonight the W didn't work out for Creighton; but, they are a tough team.
From what I have seen in this game and about the last eight games is that UCONN will not even make it to the Sweet 16. Even if Fudd returns, UCONN has no bench to rest the starters.
Thats some bullshit, her feet were not planted, she did not have position. If anything, it should have been a blocking foul or no call at all. Home girl missed her free throws tho smh
griffin needs to leave uconn to a school that will use her skills better unless she improves tremendously in her shooting but she will definitely come off the bench when the rest return and get no minutes
No. During the last play of the game the refs called a foul on Aaliyah Edwards that was NO FOUL. Look at the camera angle from beneath the basket, you can see Aaliyah Edwards wasn’t anywhere near her and didn’t even touch her. So if Creighton scored the basket on that possession and got the foul, they could’ve won the game on 1 free-throw. I admit the refs were bad, but they weren’t pro-UConn, they just made a lot of bad calls. Creighton needs to learn how to shoot free throws.
GENO thinking he can only play 5 players the whole game still lol. I get your bench is trash but it’s who you offered a scholarship. Develop & play them, just my take not a UConn fan though.
You are absolutely correct, Geno never really plays the bench that much. The bench players need to play to improve their skills. Starters get tired. Unless Azzi gets better, I do not think Uconn will go far in March. Bring in some bench players to play defense while some of the starters rest. I do understand the whole thing.
I don't always agree with Culmo and this is one of those times. Ducharme's hand and ball were hit at the same time. Easy call to make. And Flannery is 94 feet away, with his view blocked by bodies so he was clueless. I know you're trying to be impartial Culmo but you is wrong girl. Even after multiple looks you didn't see her hand hit?! You need better glasses and need to check your first impression at the door.
Hand is part of the ball. Ducharme’s last shot should not have been called a foul. But also when Jensen took the last shot of the game, and the refs called a foul- Aaliyah Edwards did not foul her. You can see from the camera angle under the basket, Edwards did not even touch her. So lots of bad calls both ways.
Two point win over an unranked team...these teams are evenly matched. Villanova...well that's going to be a much better team than UConn last played. Best player in the Big East by far, even better than PB or AF.
UConn’s 2 best players are on the bench, and their Top 5 recruit freshman is also out for the year. Next year Creighton will lose both games by 30 points.
@@RustyLou18 -No they’re not always on the bench, and we were in the championship game last year. And that’s where will be next year too. On the other hand, Creighton has never made it out of the Sweet 16 in March madness. Paige Bueckers was national player of the year as a freshman. Good luck next year trying to stay competitive.
The refs did their job well. If someone was unsatisfied with the calls, then put that in writing and have the NCAA fire them refs...simple chore. STOP YELLING!!!

That was some March basketball realness....
Is there a full length version of this? I got on the jumbotron and apparently SNY too, in the final 5 minutes of the game.
*UCONN looks tired. March Madness is coming.*
I think they looked more energetic tonight than in a while.

Gtfoh. Lol 😂
Two NPOY candidates and a top-5 recruit are out. Another top-5 recruit just came back from a 2-month absence. Injuries are not Geno's fault.
U Conn fans make excuses like their shorthanded heck he plays his players just like a healthy team he just don't want to play them
