You never let us down MJL....wish life in general could be as predictable as you are with providing us UWBB fans with ALL the games throughout each season!!! Once again--have a blessed week!
Boy…even the easy ones are hard😳. But…Caroline looked good, Nika managed to get a new team record…which is almost as hard as getting a national championship! Aall day with Aaliyah!, freshmen got good minutes, Lou got her money’s worth on her “technical”, and Geno didn’t throw a bottle. Great game! Thanks MJL!! Go Huskies!
Shout out to Nika for her amazing achievement passing Sue Bird on single season assists and that with an team that lacks scorers all season long because of injuries. I believe without Nika UCONN wouldnt even be a ranked team at all. The PROS: Caroline did fill in for Dorka really good, she is no Dorka in athletism and size but she did a great job on the offensive and defensive end through how intelligent she plays on the court. Aaliyah even without the help of Dorka in the paint was able to play dominant again. I really hope this is the start of an new upward trend, would be at the right time. The CONS: Nika 0 in 7 shots, yes she does assist a lot and she plays top notch defense but she needs to score. As Lou who is supposed to be a shooter with 2 in 9 from the perimeter and 4 in 12 overall that is just not good if you are supposed to be one of the scorers on the team. Like with Aubrey it doesnt help if you only got defensive players on the court someone has to make the shots! Also the bench players werent able to make any impact, on contrary i really didnt like Ayanna on the defense where she messed up swichtes and overall was a mess and gave Xavier some open shots. Ayanna is still a total chaos on defense and at the end of the season still wasnt able to adapt to the UCONN style of play.
I thought Aubrey was the one who had a tough game. She, Ayanna, and Nika need to learn how to score in the paint with short jumpers rather than always the layup. Aubrey had one this time and it was very nice, but it's not very common for any of those 3.
Thank you MJ 😊 congratulations to the huskies on the win, the regular season title and to Nika for not 1 but 2 accolades. of course this game surprised a lot of us at the fact that Xavier kept it so close. This should not have been this close at all. You can even tell that they knew they played not so good basketball and the celebration even felt underwhelming. They know they need to get down to business and I hope that what Geno is saying and even what outsiders are saying sparks a fire in them. I hope all the hate is making them mad in a good way. UConn’s offensive woes continue and it’s a bit scary because these woes won’t hold up against good offensive teams like Utah and Virginia tech or even the possibility of going up against ole miss or Kansas in the round of 32. Like those aren’t bad squads and they play scrappy for real. UConn gone have to come together make something shake, be on their A++ game. C grade basketball won’t be enough going forward it has to be their best from here on out. Unfortunately like Geno has said, we won’t know which team will show up when they step on the floor but let’s hope we get the UConn team that was playing their best basketball at the beginning of the year and then some. we also can’t put all this pressure on Azzi and expect her to come out and put up 20 point performances. She is going to be rusty. It’s going to be nice having her back but she can’t be relied on, she’s not up to par and won’t be honestly until next year. Let’s just hope she plays in a way that she can be proud of, not for us the fans, not even for the team or the coaches, but for herself. Same thing goes for everyone. I hope they all play to a level that they can be proud of and hopefully that will translate into wins. Come on ladies it’s revenge time for y’all 💪🏽 let’s gooooooo
They played with a lot more defensive energy and with an intent to rebound better, especially long rebounds. Nika is ferocious on defense. Aubrey had an up and down game, but Lou and Carol were pretty good. Ayanna was good, scoring!!! Aaliyah had some great moments. It wasn't perfect, but there was a lot of good stuff in there.
@@markhathaway9456 UConn plays pretty solid defense it’s just they’ve had a lack of offensive flow in these last few games. They played better but you could tell there is still something missing.
@0:02 Thank you, Dorka & Lou for your hard work and exceptional play. We love you both and maybe you can win a national championship for your fans. I know you can do it!!!
if they're struggling this much vs a team on an 18 game losing streak this is gonna be a very short march for uconn. I hope they figure the offense out and clean up the terrible turnovers before we see real competition in the tournament
don’t think they’re worried about these conference games. they’re already short handed, even though they’re not absolutely blowing out teams they’re trying to stay healthy to compete when it really matters in march
I literally laughed through this whole game. It was was like they were seeing how bad they can play and win. Like the stuff they were doing was silly stupid things. And the commentators were acting like Xavier was really frustrating them. Most of everything that happened in this game was self inflicted like it was so comical. That’s why geno was so mad and confused.
See! That is what I observe, You literally laughed the whole game, that is true. For me, it is a comedy hahahahaha these teams can't face championship-caliber teams in other divisions. hahahahaha.
This team has been struggling on offense the past couple of weeks. Which is to be expected when you have like 80 points on the bench. All in all great end to the season but if we wanna play deep into march they have to pick it up offensively.
I disagree.....French, Spanish, Irish, English it was clear as day. She was politely explaining the situation with Nika and Caroline assisting. No shade at my girl Lou. Review 49:10
They just won the regular season conference and all they get are these negative comments because they didn't win by 40 points every game?? Oh boo hoo......poor little fan base........ they have had injury after injury and they still beat almost everybody.....the same few players have played game after game and they just might be tired.....but they get these commenters on here that laughed through the game???? shame on you deanna.... what a terrible fan you are......... congrats to these hard working young women who worked so hard to win the conference without their super stars!!
At 7:10 of the second half, Aubrey Griffin took a pass from Caroline Ducharme, used her speed in a quick stop & pop from 5-7 feet out. She went vertical, tucked her feet & got her torso to the metal & the shot went in. Sure, she's unstoppable on the fast break, but she was a limp gimp as a 3-point shooter. Aubrey has WNBA speed & v-jump, but if she can't stop & pop, she's done after D1! Phil Handy has good stop & pop videos on UA-cam. Phil Handy teaches pro women & pro men how to dribble & set up defenders. She should also watch the latest Louisville v Notre Dame game and pay attention to how Hailey Van Lith keeps her shooting elbow straight down to the floor and her shooting hand cocked toward the hoop. Finally, Aubrey is a kinetic player who must run & jump, so the floater & the stop & pop are good choices for her. To get perspective, Aubrey should watch Phil Handy teach "Jiggy" how to dribble to get a player to turn & how to stop & pop. If a 12-year-old can do it, Aubrey should be able to do it.
@@lastonestanding3417 But this year her 3 has been pretty impressive. Key for her and Nika is to have enough time to set properly for the shot. Aubrey didn't shoot much (if any) this game and Nika was pretty hesitant. Her one hasty 3 was a miss. But, learning to hit a 3 however much time is necessary to prepare it and then gradually speeding up to Azzi-speed takes some time.
@@lastonestanding3417 OK, Least one Standing, Aubrey Griffin is a dead-ender at D1 because she can't shoot a wide-open jumper. She'll never play one minute in the WNBA because she can't make an open 3-pointer in an empty gym with the lights on. Now, LOS'er, if she wants an NBA contract, she should watch videos of Haley Van Lith of Louisville. Watch what she does with her shooting elbow. Van Lyth's elbow points straight down toward the floor. Moreover, Griffini should look at the position of Hayle's shooting hand. It's cocked so the palm faces the floor. She needs to suck it up and grow because Nika Muehl made herself into a decent 3-point shooter. In fact, Nika, according to Geno, "was the worst shooter he'd ever seen." Finally, Graefin should take some on-line, ball handling lessons from Laker's Coach, Phil Handy because she stinks at handling the ball. The truth hurts, LOS'er.
@@lastonestanding3417 You are a dunce because Nelson Odota and Christian Williams flopped because neither could make a 15-jumper much less show the kind of handles required to set one up when guarded by a pro. Here's a prediction: Aubrey will be playing rec league b-ball if she doesn't learn how to get free for a 15-footer, & then, make it. She must watch Phil Handy videos to learn how to dribble & get defenders to turn. She should also watch close ups of Haley Van Lith shooting: she has her shooting elbow pointed to the floor & her palm on her shooting hand to the iron. Aubrey either learns to change speeds, fake defenders into turning the wrong way and finish with a foul shot distance jumper, or she goes down the tubes like Odota & Williams did.
@@chestermicek Who's talking about Ododa or Williams? I'm not. You know nothing, nothing. You are a light breeze. Thanks for the fun, but you take care.

And for those who are demandin for more playing time for Amari, Ayanna and Ines, you got your wish. I hope you enjoyed how the team pkayed with them inside.
I like Ayanna and Ines. Ayanna is a rebounding monster and a very quick guard against all but the tallest opponents. Ines is a very good ball-handler and is quicker than she might seem at first glance. She is where Nika was last year, and like Ayanna and Nika, her next step is to be incorporated into ways to score. It won't happen this year though, so who knows if she will develop that skill set.
It's weird that they've lost only 5 (considering their trials & tribulations) and have won their conference and are ranked in the top 10 of the nation, yet are "not a good team". It makes me feel sad for all the rest.
At last! Time has come, to speak the truth! Our players are Overrated! This last game, was PITIFUL... Nika thinks she is some superstar, passing to the crowd...she cannot shoot...the crowd... @OneStGermain Hi, thanks for your comment. It saddens me to read a fan dissing on these exceptional, talented & hardworking young women who deserve both our love & respect. So sorry to know that they "disappoint" such a loyal and supportive fan as yourself.
@@stormyweather9917 We all love the team, but continually, enabling a lie, won’t help anyone! Did you hear Geno??? You love Geno, as far as I remember!?! Again , point out to me, if I said, anything, that wasn’t true! Please, do not let Feelings, cloud your judgment!
Paige and Azzi have injuries. Paige won't play at all this season. Azzi has played some games and there's a chance she will get to play more, but we don't know yet.
@@markhathaway9456 Well, we all know that, hence, me referring to them like: “super cars with structural damage” Their behavior on the bench, joking around, while the team, and the coach is desperate, is not on! @@onestgermain lol. At some point this season I became resigned to the fact that while this team was very, very good, the absence of our 2 certified "ROCKSTARS" placed TOO great of a burden onto it. (Yeah, other teams have injured players but NOT the caliber of PB & AF). All it needed was maybe 8-10 more points per game and a bit more rest, but where would that come from? AF is arguably the best scorer in WCBB and it's thrilling to just watch her SHOOT the ball and to be surprised when it doesn't go in. Yes, it's frustrating to see the ball being passed to AE while in the paint and being guarded by 3+ opponents and, oh yes, the TOs! Instead of smh I just now laugh when they occur, and I'm pretty sure we will no longer successfully inbound the ball. And we have a guard-who sometimes goes scoreless in a game-being granted sainthood for merely passing the ball. (I won't say who, wink-wink). I'm now content just watching each game and hoping for the best. And I've stopped looking at the box score in each of our first 6 games and thinking about what "might" have been. But I DO know we both want to make the final four again! Ciao.

Please point to me, where is the untruth in anything I said!
Geno, let it all go…for a Coach, to speak frankly like that, he must have had enough!
The truth, sometimes, hurts!
Again , point out to me, if I said, anything, that wasn’t true!
Please, do not let Feelings, cloud your judgment!
Paige and Azzi have injuries. Paige won't play at all this season. Azzi has played some games and there's a chance she will get to play more, but we don't know yet.
@@markhathaway9456 Well, we all know that, hence, me referring to them like: “super cars with structural damage”
Their behavior on the bench, joking around, while the team, and the coach is desperate, is not on!
They have more games on the bench, than on the court… we love them so much, We overrate their capabilities constantly…
March will be painful!
Ciao.
