Just got home from work and as always MJL came thru--so now I'll make some awesome "game" food--and it's off to watch UCONN win I go...(thanks to good ol' faithful.) Have a blessed weekend everyone!!!! that includes the Huskies of course.
It's magic when they're all together. 3pt shooting was cold a long time, but the rest of the game was really nice. I loved Nika's 3 at the end. She just stood there at the line a long time and nobody came to guard her. Swissssh.
Is that another UCONN team they've been hiding from us the last couple of months?! Fun game to watch with lots of tempo plays but without the usual turnovers. Defense simply dominting and offensive versatile plays with off ball screens, a lot off ball movement and quick passes and less flimsy lobs, just not making some open shots. Huskies really looked different and made a lot of good decisions and i hope they can keep that burning all through march madness! Looks like Azzi brought back the energy to the team. UCONN dominating again, Georgetown couldnt keep up at all and falling back on fouls in many situations. Dont want to complain much on Azzis comeback. It's just a happy day. Get well soon Caroline!
UConn is still the standard of WBB till no team breaks the record, always be the STANDARD... 11 Nat'l titles, Big East titles, NCAA appearances, and all that. If any team claims that they're the new deal in WBB, that's a lie... they'll have to surpass every record on UConn's history book...
They looked like they are getting back in the groove. Geno looks like he actually coaching alittle bit now. When he took dorka out after some possessions where she wasn’t going up strong. It was like hallelujah!! I love dorka but that has been a weak spot for her because she keeps missing them. Then when she came back in she started to absorb the contact alittle. I like that. But overall they looked a lot better. Honestly, I think Amari will transfer or have to transfer next year. I just don’t see her playing over Jana or ice. And if I’m right they’ll have Ayanna playing more of a Aubrey type game. That’s a role I think she may be able to flourish a bit. Just gotta work on her offense over the summer but I guarantee that’s work she’ll happily put in.
Only Amari knows what Amari will do, but I tend to agree with your assessment. Some people in the comments sections of these videos blame Amari's lack of development on lack of playing time by Geno, while others basically flip it around and blame Amari not catching up with the college game. Hard to know since we don't know what goes on in practice. Regardless of which side of that argument people choose, and whether or not she can develop more as a player at all, it seems her player development at UConn has reached the end of the line. If I were her, I'd take a serious look at the transfer portal when the season is over. I think there are teams out there where she could contribute. I wish her well whatever she chooses.
@@hamiltzp Yeah. Over the past few games I’ve just been like thinking like when will Amari get playing time. With the incoming that we have, especially hearing geno speak so highly of them too, it’s just like she just doesn’t fit. And I would hate to see her just sitting on the bench another year so unless she takes a big leap next season idk. I’m also hoping more uconn alums keep showing up or others to challenge some of these players to toughen them up like Tina coming to practice with the bigs. That stuff in the long run will serve them better.
@@deanna8487 Coach needs some bangers. Amari is too timid. Patterson should develop. The sad thing about Amari is that she rooms with Dorka who will bump and bang. It she could just practice hard and get agressive...
@@buzzard6410 definitely that. I do believe that everyone needs to be in the weight room, getting stronger. There are time where I feel the physicality and strength of other teams gets to us and there are times when it doesn’t. But we have a couple of players weak with the ball and if a bump get them they are on the ground. Patterson probably the strongest but now she just needs help adjusting to the game so I’m not worried about her development it there we’ve seen glances. But Amari I… just don’t think they way they are set up they have time to turn her into the player they need especially if she’s not doing the work or being consistent in every aspect of the game.
Honestly I think Amari has put herself in a bind with her work ethic. Being picked up out of the transfer portal by a good team requires you to have made yourself valuable and she hasn't done that. If she does transfer it'll probably be to some obscure division 2 school and then she'll fall off the map from there.
Thank you again MJL. You're the best. Someone should've told those stupid announcers that there was a basketbal game going on...with strategy, schemes, and other cool basketball stuff like that. What is it with these numb nuts who act like they're hosting a Tupperware party rather than covering and disseminating what's going on the court. I'm so tired of all this personality fluff.
Luke, the only thing that helps me is to turn the sound off during the game. Not trying to be a smart ass, that's just what I do. To me, announcers and "analysts" don't add anything to the game at hand.
So this happens when UConn WBB defense shows you proper respect. Freshman Fauntleroy who scored 24 last time dropped a whopping 4 today! As opposed also, to the last few weeks where Coach A mostly just stood around, sat around,, moped up & down the sideline, sulked, & passive aggressively whined all game and afterwards (even after a win), good to see him coaching (translate: advising, imploring, beggin', yellin', bitchin') with consistency and some fire again ! !
