      It's also fun and intuitive once incorporated into a workflow. Thank you for the watch and comment!

    First time here... Really like your approach to "intuitive" integration with FP and dedicated macros. And you are also a Console 1 user, so I'll dive your channel. Suscribed! Greatings from Argentina!

      Glad it was helpful! Keep your eye out for more. I'm trying to amp up the channel a little, both from a frequency and quality perspective.

    Great video thank you for taking the time. Liked and subbed.

      Thanks for the sub! And the like and for your Comment. I really enjoy making these and I typically learn a lot in the process of doing it, so it's a hobby for me as much as using the DAW, I think. And your sub really does count, as I have that personal goal of getting to the prized 1,000!

    I love the tip where you hide tracks using a macro. Will be looking out for your video on this as I think this would enhance my workflow hugely. Subscribed

      Thanks. I will be creating that video soon. I did most of it in one of my other videos, but I can redo with a step.by step and supplement with some new things I have found make it work better.

      @@BladesMusic A macro video in general would be great. With useful macros and how to do them. Thank you

      @fisher Green and @Marek Voosen - I just posted this video on how to create this workflow. Hope it helps you. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/jiYnXGcCIsk/v-deo.html

    Might want to start with features of the DAW first, and talk about gear last.. most users dont use the fader port so they will quickly leave your site or scoll throu to get to what the title talked about.... by the way great video!

    • @BladesMusic
      @BladesMusic  3 роки тому

      I don't completely disagree. But for me and many others who DO use the FaderPort, this was one of the coolest new things (and as I mentioned in the video, almost more of a bugfix, but welcome anyway). Maybe I'll go back and add a link list in the description for the 4 topics so people can get to the part they want. Thanks for the suggestion.

      FWIW: I just added a TOC to this one. I'll try to keep this in mind for future ones as well.

    I came across your channel and subbed too. Any chance you could do a tut on Sound Variations in 5.2 in detail? For me using orchestral libraries, it was the most significant feature ever.

    • @BladesMusic
      @BladesMusic  3 роки тому

      I need to take a look around at these. I don't have a lot of stuff with variations, though it might be fun to mess with in Presence just to get the feel of how the switching works. From there, I suppose it would be similar in any library that supports it. I'm not sure I'll be able to do "in depth", but I certainly could do something, I'd think. Thanks for the idea. I'll consider putting something like this together, though I might get lambasted by the pro Orch folks! :) Thanks for the Sub too, btw!

      @@BladesMusic IMHO Presence doesn't quite cut it as this new SV feature is really aimed at serious orchestral library users and hence it has a steep learning curve. I watched " home studio trainer" - who did a long "tutorial" on the fly and has a neck like a jockey's you know what.. a total chancer - waste of time. These new SVs are not for the faint hearted (although you can use them as a beginner with Presence).

      @@citizenworld8094 yeah - that's kind of what I was getting at! :) I don't want to pretend I know anything about orchestral libraries or come off looking like someone who believes he knows more than he does! I might still do something in this regard, but it will definitely come with an upfront disclaimer! I am a drummer first, singer next, probably guitar player next, followed by keyboards, bass, and whatever else I happen to wander into. I am hardly a composer. As a professional in IT and Web, I see FAR too many "posers" trying to pretend they know what they are doing and to the experienced, it's so immediately apparent that their skill is admired first by themselves and then by the less experienced. All that said, I appreciate the amount of effort that HST puts forward, knowing how much effort and time all of this stuff takes, but I tread carefully into realms that I know are reserved for those more experienced that I am.

    Have you tried Cubase and did you like it?

    • @BladesMusic
      @BladesMusic  3 роки тому

      I have not tried Cubase in a REALLY long time. So long that whatever I remember about it has probably been long-since removed, replaced, updated to the nth, etc. In fact, it might have been 15 years ago. That said, I wasn't fond of it then, nor of Nuendo (if there even still is such a product). I understand that the MIDI functions exceed a lot of other options, but my actual MIDI needs are fairly simple: play it, lightly edit it, tweak it for controllers and whatnot, and commit to it. I don't need a lot of fancy MIDI features. If you follow my story, you will find that I was a long-time Cakewalk/Sonar supporter until the collapse of GIbson. I looked at a few options then such as Reaper, Studio One, and Samplitude, and of those Studio One was a pretty much instant hit with me. So I've learned it (as much as one can do that with the depth and complexity of all of these DAWs) and have stuck with it, occasionally switching over to the new Cakewalk by Bandlab stuff to watch its maturation. Why do you ask?

    • @billyshakespeare1696
      @billyshakespeare1696 3 роки тому +1

      @@BladesMusic I asked because of that exact reason ... I, too, was a longtime Cakewalk/Sonar supporter (and got roped into that "free lifetime updates" for $199.99 right before they shut down ... what a nice (sarcastic) "thank you" for my years of support!) and saw that you moved over to Studio One. If you had experience with a recent version of Cubase, I was going to ask you what you thought of them head-to-head. Thank you for your time, though!
