Hey great video. The G7se has built in deadzones which needs to be disabled through the nexus software. MOST people don't understand that the potențiometre Is not the only thing that causes drift, the springs also can cause it...and for MOST Xbox controllers that kind of drift developes very quickly unlike sony's controllers,i tried the normal g7 and even brand new the springs were awful...
I'm trying to use this on PUBG and no matter what settings/calibrations I try, the left thumbstick just will not activate a full run action. Very frustrating.
This bulshit problem only exists from xbox one and PS4 era because all manufacturers went dirt cheap on us whilst UPPING controller pricing.. We all have controllers from the 90s and 2000s that still work.
But it's not more expensive. I mean, it might be "double" the price, but we're talking few bucks or half of few bucks per pair of sticks. That's "saving" cents instead prolonging service life for year or two. Ridiculous. Hall sensors used are those like sot89 package or smtn, they cost 10 bucks per ribbon (100pcs), and you use tiny magnets. The only trick is to position everything right and to calibrate, the same problem as with pots. But you solve it once and start production. It's more likely they just prefer selling controllers more often. Though, gamers are part of the problem here - you can buy those modules from China for 2-3$ a pair, you just need to open the controller, remove and solder the new ones, but we're lazy. And these modules are different, some are for this, some for that controller, but almost every third-party gamepad will be compatible with some of them. Sometimes you'll have to bend some wires and that's the biggest problem you can face. But, we don't do it, we just buy another because we wanna try another controller anyway. While there're sheep, there will be wool.
Does it come in black? The pull rate on a PS5 controller is 8000hz. Making aiming in shooters really responsive and highly precise. This controller is the only Xbox controller that has a 1000hz pull rate. All other Xbox controllers have a pool rate of 500hz. I'm very curious about this controller. Any chance you can make a video about controller pull rates?
PS5 is not 8000hz it just repeats the same values to meet 8000hz. the highest it can go for real values is 1000hz which means there is no latency difference between 8000hz and 1000hz in this situation
i love how the sticks go 100% back to center instantly, no play.... The stick do not move around at all, tightly locked in. Out of the box playing COD, besides the cord, the back button and start are a few centimeters higher, center Xbox button does not feel as smooth as regular xbox, that was the only things I had to get used to, which is honestly non issues for me. Just wanted to be honest. A,B,X,Y, sticks, and triggers feel better than a regular Xbox controller. Shell does not feel like a Xbox controller, it has a texture on the back, not a bad thing, just different from normal. Its lighter w/o my battery pack. If I shake a regular xbox controller the buttons and sticks jiggle, the game sir does not, no noise at all, feel like everything was built to precision, quality is on another level vs xbox there. If this was wireless I would suggest Xbox make it their normal controller that comes with the system.
Most of my analog stick drift not from not just the potentiometer part is faulty but the rest of the analog component, the middle spring, the plastic leg holding the potentiometer crack, etc, esp if u play first person shooter daily using the push button to run alot. Hall effects wont magically makes the stick last longer, just reduce potentiometer part being seasoned, but the rest of the body are still plastic that is prone to damage from heavy daily use. Till the day someone compare day to day use of these hall effect analog in real daily use for same hours vs old alps sticks, i wont buy into the hype of it.
And Microsoft's response to aftermarket controllers that are better than theirs is to ban the use of any wireless controllers while still supporting wired controllers thinking that people will want to stick with wireless? NO! I've just paid £39.97 for a GameSir G7 SE and then £12.99 for a 5m cable, both from ebay. Microsoft can kiss my ours!
this controller is official licensed by Xbox. they didn't make a wireless one to keep price down and hall effect sticks use more power than potentiometers. it's a small tradeoff I'm willing to take
you say that you dont know for sure if companies only use potentiometers because hall effect sticks are to expensive. Really. Maybe look into what the gamesir t4 kaleid cost. same company, but this controller cost 45 dollars and has hall effect sticks and mechanical face buttons. plus it has a gyroscope (wich xbox controller dont have). now tell me agian if you dont know for sure if tit is just greed. You CAN say that these components are not that expensive, because there are more companies who only sell controllers (and no big consoles). who seem to be able to provide controllers with more features then the standard console controller, for almost have the price. Look at some controllers from flydigi. especially the vader 3 pro. It has hall effect trigger, with a trigger lock that slides in mechanical mouse switches. plus it has mechanical face buttons and hall effect sticks, 4 back buttons, and gyro sensors. for 80- 100 dollars. The flydigi apex also has mechanical switches, 4 back buttons mechanical triggers, and it has an extra wheel (it is also completly remapable on rewasd). The controller cost 90 dollars. Flydigi is a small chinese company, and solely relies on selling controller for the mobile phone and pc market. Especially geare towards gyro players on pc (wich is already a niche market). So if big companies like Sony charge 200+ for a pro controller that only has 2 back buttons and trigger locks (wich are not even that quick compared to flydigi controllers). plus you can only remap the dualsense edge on steam or rewasd if you enable the default profile. This controller does not have hall effect sticks or mechanical face buttons and triggers. And they lock the profiles to the edge controller instead of letting people who own the normal dualsense also make custom profiles (minus the back buttons). The 8 bit do uiltimate bleutooth controller has hall effect sticks and two back buttons. the king kong pro 2 from gulikit also has hall effect sticks and some form of mechanical buttons. for 60 dollars. lpus both have a gyroscope, and maybe even a accelerometer. You can also adjust the profiles on pc. So why are youtubers to afraid of actually calling out these practices as greed. UA-camrs are way to cautios and afraid of offending Either Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. UA-camrs might suggest that they think it is greed, but never fully commit to a real opinion. Maybe just call it out like it is. there is nothing wrong with that. Just stick to your guns people.
The amount of money I've had to put forth on new controllers over the past 4 years is enough to break my bank. The big 3 companies love the expendable controller model , it is an easy profit for them. Be very careful buying Microsoft controllers from Amazon especially. Nearly all of them had a major issue within a month if I bought it for a few dollars less on a sale or not. It's a crime that they get away with this. I literally bought my last Xbox controller from Microsoft last month & getting this sent today. Edit is my poor spelling. Adios

It may change, but that's where we are right now.

This controller is an absolute sleeper unit, gone through 3 stock Xbox controller and one battle beaver and they all had some issue either with the sticks or bumpers, granted this is lighter in the hand then a stock Xbox controller the sticks are a dream, the overall feel and comfortability and the price point with back buttons are unbeatable then anything else on the market.
Hello, I saw your video about the Xbox Elite 2 and GameSir G7 SE controllers. During the Circularity Test, there's a significant difference between the controllers. Is this noticeable when playing FPS games, or not that much? I'm unsure whether to buy a controller with better sticks or with more customization. Thank you in advance for your response.
I've been through 3 OEM Xbox controllers due too stick drift in 1 year. Just picked this up and we will see ....
Any updates ?
@@Thedeathofpeaceofmind hello ! Update: I highly recommend this controller. Hopefully GameSir releases a Wirelsss version. Pick this controller up ASAP
@@StickBoy84 hell yeah thanks for the update
@@StickBoy84 btw how is it compared to xbox series x/s controllers ?
@@Thedeathofpeaceofmind everything about the GameSir controller feels right, from its rounded edges too it's. Comfortable thumbs sticks. The controller doesn't feel cheap in any way. An added bonus is it will last a lot longer than the Microsoft controllers. As I explained stick drift is quite common with the MS controllers and I'm sick of that shit!
How's the Latency on this controller compered to the wireless xbox series x controller?
rn this controller goes for 999 in my currency whereas the standard/stock xbox series controller goes for 1499. Which i think is just crazy and i love it
Only problem i have with this g7 controller are the back buttons i wish they were raised alittle higher they are almost flush with the controller i has to go back to my old power a fusion pro2
just ordered as my second series x controller started drifting really bad
I’m on my 2nd Xbox x controller. I want a hard wired controller. The MS cable connection is trash and horrible fitted. I’m considering this. A plug in cable at the controller itself is a negative.
I bet G7pro model gonna come with clicky button, hall stick, more rear button, wireless.
will you let us know stick drift of this controller in 6 to 12 months time?
I never had drift in a controller until i got the nintendo switch and now the new xbox. I wonder what changed in the sticks?
same here i got a series 2 core controller and right out the box it came with drift lol... unreal but never again will i buy their product, actually this makes me want to switch to ps5 ( hoping they have better controllers durability wise )
@@sergiolandz6056 they dont
It’s a pity the controller doesn’t have the option of playing wireless but it’s still a good controller
How about the bumpers/triggers? are they good for games that uses them much such as Elden Ring?
great video. BTW do you happen to know what is the largest xbox x controller? i have a little trouble with my hands and find the larger controllers like for example the nintendo switch pro controller fits me better. Bigger and slightly angled outword would be great.
The Xbox controller is slightly larger than the switch pro controller.
@@84jdgregory not really. The switch pro controller is wider and the flare of the handles is greater . Works much better for my large hands. I'll never understand why controllers keep both our hands so close together when distance is more comfortable.
@@jstones9872lol. Google switch pro controller size comparison. Same width, Xbox controller has a larger body with a more aggressive flare on the grips.
@@jstones9872 The duke from hyperkin is gigantic.
So how is everyone doing with this one? I’ve looked at a few reviews and some people are saying they still get stick drift very fast, or even out of the box?
Does the controller always have to be hooked up to use it, or is it only while you charge it?
Should have been macro back buttons. That was the deal breaker for me. Maybe in the future we will get macros and trigger stops with Halleffect joysticks
Eh honestly different for me, I ain't even gonna use back buttons lol I'm just tired of how cheaply made first party series x controllers are, this will be my 4th one and I don't plan on buying them every single year anymore...
Should definitely try this one, it's my daily driver, best xbox controller I've ever used
By macros you mean those buttons that do whole actions with a push? You wanna get banned from games?
I wonder if the sensors can be swapped into another controller? I would love to swap these into my Elite Series 2 controller.
MOST people don't understand that the potențiometre Is not the only thing that causes drift, the springs also can cause it...and for MOST Xbox controllers that kind of drift developes very quickly unlike sony's controllers,i tried the normal g7 and even brand new the springs were awful...
Could I just buy this and plug it straight into my Xbox or do I have to plug it into my pc and adjust it?
It’ll work straight into an Xbox
@@9to5toysDoes the controller always have to be hooked up to use it, or is it only while you charge it?
Wwhy does every hall effect controller put the start/back buttons so high up?!
I just picked mine up for 30 dollars 🎉
While there're sheep, there will be wool.
i have this , in currently looking for a stick drift fix
have u tried that deadzone thing, about which there was a video on channel "The PhotoTechny"?
Have you tried the Dualsense Edge?
we are back to 90s no warless
Hey great vid! How was your family getaway? 😁
It was great! Lots of good family time :)
@@9to5toys Good to hear, I hope you feel refreshed to make some vids again
Does it come in black? The pull rate on a PS5 controller is 8000hz. Making aiming in shooters really responsive and highly precise. This controller is the only Xbox controller that has a 1000hz pull rate. All other Xbox controllers have a pool rate of 500hz. I'm very curious about this controller. Any chance you can make a video about controller pull rates?
xbox series have 125hz
PS5 is not 8000hz it just repeats the same values to meet 8000hz. the highest it can go for real values is 1000hz which means there is no latency difference between 8000hz and 1000hz in this situation
@@allaroundgaming100 bro thinks playstation controllers are 8000hz haha.
doesnt come in black as far as i know but you. can replace the faceplate with a black one
i love how the sticks go 100% back to center instantly, no play....
How long is the cable?

This controller is affected by the new license policy?
Do you know when its gonna be wireless or any wireless compatible one thx
Never
Most of my analog stick drift not from not just the potentiometer part is faulty but the rest of the analog component, the middle spring, the plastic leg holding the potentiometer crack, etc, esp if u play first person shooter daily using the push button to run alot.
Mine came in the day before Christmas, plugged them in and defective out of the box. What the fuck
Microsoft can kiss my ours!
that's a great review. i needed it so bad
Is the G7 SE Controller a Wired or a Wireless? Will it work without the wire with a Xbox Series?
Non official xbox controller is wireless
Is it better than the normal xbox controller?
Yup. I love it
@@alexki8513 really? I've seen many people complaining about the quality. Can u tell me more about it ? Ty
Can you update us after four months?
Any idea why they do not do this in wireless ?
My guess would be because MS uses a proprietary wireless protocol and no third-parties are allowed to use it
this controller is official licensed by Xbox. they didn't make a wireless one to keep price down and hall effect sticks use more power than potentiometers. it's a small tradeoff I'm willing to take
It's great until you realize the 7mm sticks instead of 9mm throw off all accuracy
I wish they release a different color.
they have swappable faceplates for this controller, I bought it with the black one. but yeah the rest of the controller is still white
That Israel spf shirt fire
Will this still work when Microsoft cracks down on aftermarket controllers
It will,cuz they've certificated it
I got one and it has stick drift😢 out of the box
u have to review it after 6 months to 1 year and see if this is still gd
Are you able to switch the thumb sticks for Xbox ones
No. You can get any control freeks that fit Ps4/PS5 sticks. They fit perfectly.
you say that you dont know for sure if companies only use potentiometers because hall effect sticks are to expensive.
Can I click r3?
Do the sticks accept kontrol freek xbox x/s or ps5/4?
PS4/5
The amount of money I've had to put forth on new controllers over the past 4 years is enough to break my bank. The big 3 companies love the expendable controller model , it is an easy profit for them. Be very careful buying Microsoft controllers from Amazon especially. Nearly all of them had a major issue within a month if I bought it for a few dollars less on a sale or not.
It's a crime that they get away with this. I literally bought my last Xbox controller from Microsoft last month & getting this sent today. Edit is my poor spelling. Adios
This product state's it's has an "ANTI" ability, which is like saying something is water Resistant. Which mean's it's not WATER PROOF. Anti drift isn't anything close to "NO DRIFT".
But it cant drift, its not possible...
Yea it has 50 million clicks of the button before drift becomes a possibility and it’s €50 so by the time you’ve clicked 50 million times you’ll have the money to replace it
Cant wait to use these on rocket league
Did u end up becoming SSL with this controller? If so hows the controller holding up?
Will kontrolfeaks fit on it?
The ps4/5 ones work
Does it work on Xbox one?
low-frequency EMFs pose little danger to human health.
is crap use sensor like this ...
Just give me the sticks themselves I'll put them in my controllers instead of selling whole controllers.
Controller software has to be hacked and corrected so it understands hall effect sensors data. It's not as "easy" as soldering new sticks.
@Bloodysugar it would not be hard at all to have the boxes themselves translate the values that xbox controllers are looking for guilikit already makes stick boxes that fit in the exact footprint of an Xbox controller but they haven't released it for purchase and haven't done the appropriate software programing yet. It's coming though.

@@uEK97coupe do they fit properly?
@obye yea kinda snug but they fit good

GameSir needs to make a wireless controller.
It comes with a 10 ft high quality cable. Loving mine so far. Very responsive.
Trouble with hall effect sensors is they suck electricity a lot more than resistive sticks. It may be frustrating, but at that time we can't have driftproof sticks, fast response time AND long lasting wireless use. It's a trade off we got to understand and accept. It may change, but that's where we are right now.
1 week of use on the G7 se, no drift, still feels out of the box.. I bought a regular Xbox controller and had noticeable drift in 2 weeks last month.
