      Just know that you are not alone! I can out-eat my 215 lb husband any day of the week. I, too, have always had a very large appetite. Luckily I am super active and was as a child as well. Now that I am in my 40’s I really have to watch it. It is very difficult at times to stop eating when I am still hungry. I have developed certain recipes that are lower in kcals but quite large portions just so my belly will be pleased with me 😊
      I look forward to seeing your results. It gives me some hope :)

    I did this and it worked. I gained about 30lbs at first and then lost 20lbs. The whole gain and loss process took almost 1 year. I ended up being 10lbs heavier than my lightest weight but I felt SO SO much better physically, mentally, and emotionally. 💗💗 I hope it works the same for you.

      I hit rock bottom before I did this. It was the only way for me to go. I feel so free now that I am not controlled by food and hunger. It is scary to see your weight go up because it does. However it balances back out and you lose a good portion of it. The whole process is very empowering in the end. Now I am proud because I eat for optimal health not to have a low weight. My body and mind are thanking me. I am able to enjoy life on a whole new level now that I let go of those stupid standards and misleading numbers on the scale. You all are so much more than numbers on the scale or the size of your pants. Smaller numbers do not mean prettier at all. 💞💞 I'm wishing the best for anyone struggling with an ed or extreme hunger. ❤❤ You are not alone. The first step to recovery is acknowledging you have an issue and looking for help👏

    • @leahbrigman8068
      @leahbrigman8068 4 роки тому +15

      @@brenda95gg yes you gain fat and lose it under the circumstances that you are very aware of when you feel satiated. If you eat until you feel full, not over full and not still hungry, then your body will eventually adjust and be at a good healthy weight. I have a photo of my three steps, before going "all in" and during the heavier stage and then now. I wouldn't mind sharing them

    I am a male athlete who had some food problems when I was young. I cut weight for my sport and it was great at first, but I cut WAY too much. Once I realized I had a problem and that I needed to gain weight, I basically went "All in" but no planning or didn't really know what I was doing at the time. I was scared of "getting fat". Its been about 7 years trying to get it all right and wish I would've seen this sooner. Its not only chicks that have food problems. Guys dont talk about it.

      @yourlittle princess You can calculate your base metabolic rate online (BMR) www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html
      It'll show you how many calories you burn a day without any exercise.

    • @halfgrin
      @halfgrin 4 роки тому

      @yourlittle princess Your weight will always fluctuate due to water-weight which in itself can be several kg's.
      Also even with a low BMR you still have to factor in calories burned simply by being awake even if you do next to nothing all day.

    • @halfgrin
      @halfgrin 4 роки тому +2

      @yourlittle princess according to your BMI you're underweight. I'd recommend not worrying about your weight and just eat until you feel satiated. If you feel satiated from 1000 calories a day, eating more caloric dense foods might help. But i don't know you, so take the path you feel is right for you and your body.

  • @tishajaswantlal4551

    When I was recovering from anorexia years ago, I actually practiced this “all-in” approach (although I didn’t know what it was called back then!) What you said is true - although you may initially gain weight, after a while your metabolism adjusts and you learn to listen to your hunger and satiation cues better. After my initial weight gain in the first couple of months, my weight then came back down to an equilibrium that was just right for me, plus I no longer needed to always “overeat” to feel full. I went from feeling ravenous all the time to being able to stop eating when my body told me I was full. In fact, this “all-in” approach helped me to let go of all the restrictions and unhealthy relationship with food and my body. I no longer obsessed over food all the time and I think that was the key to getting out of my disordered eating mindset.
    Thank you for your honesty and openness in sharing about this topic, especially in an industry that is sometimes focussed on “perfection” and unsustainable eating habits ❤️

      I am celebrating 1 year of recovery from my ED, and I don't think I would have gotten to this point without having seen Stephanie's videos on "all-in." You have to be in the right headspace to begin with, I think, because sometimes you're just not mentally prepared to gain that much weight in that much time. But holy shit, when I finally got over the hill of gaining weight and started eating like a normal person, I almost didn't believe it. I had spent so many years thinking that a full recovery from my anorexia/bulimia was impossible and I should just resign myself to eventually dying from my ED. Recovery is possible, and it feels so much better than I could have ever imagined.

      @yourlittle princess Your underweight according to bmi calculator which is not healthy. You should be eating more. Use a TDEE calculator to work out how many calories you should be eating to maintain your weight and then add more calories to that to gain. I would suggest seeing a doctor for further advice on your diet and fitness. Good luck

    I loved your channel before because of your genuine spirit and personality but now you’ve truly inspired me to recover with my ed. Every time I want to get better, I gain a pound and immediately revert back to restricting and it sucks to be consumed by these irrational thoughts that gaining weight makes me less of a person. Hi Stephanie! I have to be blunt here. I've been a personal trainer for 20 years, and I'm always eager to learn new things.
    I started following you because off your evidence based approach, but things changed. You started to lose too much weight, and to me you didn't look as healthy anymore.
    When you said that you lost your period, I unfollowed you. Thankfully, I still had you on Instagram.
    I'm glad that you realized that that's not a healthy way to live.
    Being in the fitness industry myself, I know we want to look great, but we also have the responsibility of giving healthy advice.
    I'm sure your followers will like you even more, realizing you are human.
    Congrats on being open to change!

    Steph thank you SO SO SO much for making this vid. I actually never understood how you could down 10,000+ calories in one sitting during your cheat days but still maintain a 1,500 cal diet without ever experiencing urges to eat a lot more! and I would get angry with myself during my yo-yo dieting phase bc I saw that ppl like you could “easily” eat 1,500 Cals and stay so thin but whenever I tried to eat that low of calories and over exercise I would just binge eat later on and get stuck in this binge restrict cycle. After also experiencing all of the symptoms of AH, while not having lost my period, now I’ve completely cut out all food rules and am healing my body from the years of yo yo dieting, I eat as much vegan foods as my body craves and am also experiencing extreme hunger as a result haha. But I’m VERY glad to see that even for you this lifestyle wasn’t sustainable bc it once again proves that calorie counters and diet culture has it all wrong, and I mean that in the kindest most respectful way ❤️ Lets do this journey together 🔥
