One of the best episodes yet! You can tell Caleb has ALREADY helped this guy start to turn things around a couple of months ago through his videos. Two months ago when Caleb was blowing up, a lot of guests were saying “oh I just started watching you and changed my ways two weeks ago,” now this guy is basically saying he started watching at the same and changed course two months ago. Awesome! Plus, this guy was a very engaging guest and good on camera. He was honest about how bad he used to be and has already started changing his behavior in a big way. His whole thing hinges on the real estate: he’ll be able to pay off debt in huge chunks if and when those deals come in. If not, he has a huge income problem. But he doesn’t have a big spending problem any more. You can do it!
They'll send you to collections for not paying your gym membership. You have to call them or go there to work things out. Trust me on this one, it's stupid but real...

There is a big difference between getting by at that age and actively getting into debt where you have to spend decades getting out of it. I think the best advice is for most people in their 20s to stay away from credit cards.
@@Driver8takeabreak I think I was making less than 40,000 a year at the time and I had at least that in debt. I had a big awakening after an older relative suddenly died, and we learned that she was not the rich, dowager aunt that we thought she was. In fact, she was quite a bit in debt and the senior housing. She was living in, was no longer providing her with the services that she had once had. She was not very good at fending for herself. She borrowed money from my mother, but did not explain anything more than she was having a problem with her liquidity. she was not a spender at all. However, she was turned by a Beverly Hills stockbroker. He wied and dined her and convinced her he was doing goodbye her when, in fact he swindled. My father made me call all her credit card companies after she died and send them her death certificates. He wanted me to see all her bills so that I might learn from her mistakes. I did. But I already had a lot of debt, so I cut out everything just about except for the cost of my inexpensive apartment and my cost to commute and a tight tight budget. I cut cable back in the early 90s which was rare, and allowed myself to buy one burrito a week beyond what else I might make at home. I took on a second job that only paid minimum wage, but once you put your energy and focus on a goal and you adjust your actions accordingly, it is amazing what you can accomplish. It took me about a year and I paid off every debt. I was about 30 when I was able to make that happen.
The whole point is to help people though. Those people have no reason to fly out to Austin just to be told what they’re doing is right, they already know.
I think it would be helpful to have a few people with good scores. They can show what they do, and how they balance their finances. Showing how others have done it, and can do, can also give hope to some. "If John did it, so can I"

on a slightly related note, i HATE the gig economy, in a lot of ways it’s just a legal loophole for doordash and uber to have people working like employees without benefits. And as much as they pretend it’s a “be your own boss” venture it’s not, 1/3 of ubers drivers in seattle complete 1/2 of their rides, and in some cities they tried to incentivize full time drivers with bonuses so really they *do* need full time work, they just don’t want to pay full time benefits
Amen. I'm kinda done with the whole "hustle" culture thing and to a lesser extent the side gig grind as well. One tends to undervalue and overwork its employees whilst the other didn't respect them in the first place so workers need to find different avenues to generate additional income.
No. This dude took student loans then dropped out, financed a Tesla he couldn’t afford, has 2 Macy’s cards and 2 gym memberships, and he spends money and gas for all his side jobs. I’d respect him if he’d have finished his degree, had one suit for all his realtor duties, worked out for free, and had applications for REAL jobs everywhere. Right now he talks a good game, just like a realtor
@@billyoung8118 That's not even what 'Karen' means Bill. My point was this dude is underwater beyond his monthly income, all of his jobs require money in or miles on his car, and he has no retirement. Any full time hourly job at a fixed location would be a better situation for him, his debt, his retirement, AND his car, which is an out of warranty Hyundai for pete's sake.

Part of me wants to do this show but I'm no where near TX and I doubt he would say anything I don't already know. It just makes me feel more despair about the debt my father dumped on my family.
Seriously, it's sad about your Dad, but as far as his debt, unless it's a mortgage for a house you're living in, or some debt you helped run up that you co-signed for, you probably don't have to worry. Just get a copy of his death certificate and keep going up the chain of command. They should waive any termination fees to cancel any subscriptions or services he had when you show the certificate. You need it to put the utilities in your name anyway.

We need someone like Caleb to do a Financial Audit on the Federal Reserve.
I don't think Caleb would survive after doing that episode. I can just hear him: PACK A LUNCH!
Bro the government can't even get inside to do that one 😂
his voice will only be audible to dogs
“And you sent HOW MUCH to Ukraine??? While you’re DROWNING in debt?”
You Control the money don't let the money control you💯
It would be interesting to see someone who's doing well financially and hear their story.
I love that you don't hold back on people. You tell em like it is without trying to make them feel better about themselves. If it's stupid you tell em it's stupid.
Thanks for more reality-checking! Please take breaks as needed. Your upload consistency is great, but nothing is worth feeling burnt out and debilitated. We ❤ YOU too, not just your content.
Your videos are my form of therapy 😌
I remember him! he’s actually a good realtor . I hope he gets it together though
I see people’s credit reports every day and I swear all people with bad credit have something in common, either a macys, target, or kohls card
You gotta make merch, there's so many good lines already that would work on a t-shirt. "You are not a credit card person" " Panda Express is hiring" "this wasn't a normal month"
I think he will be fine, he is receptive and is willing to change. He just needs a little maturity and wisdom with discipline and he will be good by the time he is 30.
Trust me I love watching Caleb yell at people for doing the wrong thing, but I’d love to see some people in their mid 20’s or early 30’s who have their life together and are higher on the Caleb score. I think the highest I’ve ever seen is like a 5 and that too was months ago (been a sub for like a year)
I loved that Lael added to the subscribe promo! Extra half point on his Hammer Score for being spontaneously helpful to the channel! 😅
I've never been this early!! Caleb, I love your videos. They motivate me so much to try and pay off debt and save for my future. Thanks for what you do!
on a slightly related note, i HATE the gig economy, in a lot of ways it’s just a legal loophole for doordash and uber to have people working like employees without benefits.
Always a good way to start a Monday. Hammer time 🔨
Every episode I worry about Caleb’s heart rate 😅
😆
Heart rate monitor would be funny AF🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@dellystinky on video!
He shud make a channel just for that lol
ME TOO😂😢
Caleb uploads and I click, I'm a simple man.
I couldn't be more thankful that I found this channel right before I was about to take on a car loan and get a credit card
I was scrolling through trying to find a video of yours I haven't watched and then you uploaded. Perfect timing!
Lol!! Error 404!! This is a great episode!! Thank you for the quality content as usual Caleb!
Caleb, it’s insane how much content you push out! Keep it up! It’s getting me through the work day!
The team stays grinding
Great dad energy Caleb. Keep it up.
Can we all at least have a moment of respect for how he takes the situation in hand to help his budget?
@@nathanchildress5596 I think Bill was making a joke about the jizz boy activities
@@kelseywhitsett3635 YES! We found the male Karen, didn't we?
@@billyoung8118 🙃
@@billyoung8118 That's not even what 'Karen' means Bill. My point was this dude is underwater beyond his monthly income, all of his jobs require money in or miles on his car, and he has no retirement. Any full time hourly job at a fixed location would be a better situation for him, his debt, his retirement, AND his car, which is an out of warranty Hyundai for pete's sake.
Looking forward to these three times a week upload. Making my deployment fly by.
I find these videos so helpful, I'm 18 and in my last year of high school and I'm trying to learn good habits before I become financially independent and I have learned soo much
Part of me wants to do this show but I'm no where near TX and I doubt he would say anything I don't already know. It just makes me feel more despair about the debt my father dumped on my family.
you NEED to go on :)
What KIND of debt? Some things such as medical bills, store credit or personal loans (that weren't co-signed for) die with the debtor.
He has 1:1 consultation
Seriously, it's sad about your Dad, but as far as his debt, unless it's a mortgage for a house you're living in, or some debt you helped run up that you co-signed for, you probably don't have to worry. Just get a copy of his death certificate and keep going up the chain of command. They should waive any termination fees to cancel any subscriptions or services he had when you show the certificate. You need it to put the utilities in your name anyway.
Caleb: yells at people every episode
Also Caleb: I wonder where this vocal fry is coming from?🤔
😂
Hey caleb, i just find you. My motivations was a bit down. My debt was 37000, know in am at 18300. I am bit tired. But i keep going. 1 year. People keep going. You can make it
Was listening to this in my car last night, felt slightly hungry and was about to pull into the golden arches, but then I imagined Caleb shouting at me so I turned round and carried on going.
New drinking game, take a shot everytime Caleb says 'jizz boy' 😂
Ooo I love this game!
I’m just glad he’s somewhat self aware
I recommend looking into bartending/serving for a flexible part time job. I bartend weekends at a nightclub and bring in an extra 45-60k a year and I work 8-12 hrs a week only
Caleb with a straight face: "You're bringing home more being a jizz boy than door dash"
Literally just got home from work and was looking for a video from you to watch. Thanks Caleb 😂
Waiting for that Caleb Hammer merch 👀❤ Love the channel and I look forward to new episodes every week!
I wanna see his finances with 25 kids on child support 😂
LOL. I was looking for this comment.
He would be living under a bridge lol pretty sure when you donate you don't have any parental duties though
No child support when you donate via banks.
Shit I’m wondering if he can claim em all as dependents
That’s not how that works lol
Id like to say that I’ve paid off the Macys credit card completely, and will be paying off $3000 towards the Discover card this month 😌
Happy Monday to everyone here to watch the Hammering
Can you do financial audits on people who are doing good with their finances as well?
He does
The average American is bad with money. People who are good with money are generally the minority.
this will go down as one of the most helpful youtube channels in the game
I actually think he can pull this recovery off! Good luck bro!
I think this guy is going to knock it out of the park- he seems really genuine and mature. Good luck, bro!
I love catching your uploads. I wish I had someone kicking me in the ass for my spending and lack of savings in my early to mid twenties. Keep it up!
Caleb calling him “jizz boy” has me weak!!
I've been watching these videos for a couple weeks, and I have so much needed debt anxiety right now, so I just cut my cards too... I really don't want to die on the walmart floor.
You really helped turn my life around man, I want to thank you. I got a new job and Im paying off some medical debt more efficiently as well as planning my money better. Saving money and eating out much less as well as spending less and noticing my bad spending habits overall. Thank you so much
Caleb about to be a “wrecking ball” on this guy’s spending.
I love when they come prepared with their credit cards ✂️😂
“I didn’t bring them with me so I wouldn’t spend money”
DO YOU HAVE IT ON APPLE WALLET?
I'd like to see his follow-up in a few months. I honestly think he just needed Caleb to lay it all out, and yell at him a bit to get it together.
If he listens and educates himself...he's young enough that he could turn it around
Seems like he already has, just has to keep the real estate business growing and he’s on the right path. He seems talented enough to thrive.
Thank you for this channel
This was the kick in the ass I needed to get on top of my finances. I am a graduate with student loans trying to pay off my student overdraft (which is interest free luckily) and since watching your videos every time I go to buy something stupid I imagine how you’d react to it and it puts me back on track
Hoping to get out of it in the next few months and then start building out my emergency fund
Caleb's voice is frying because of all the screaming he's been doing. He's the punk singer of financial advice.
Jizz boy is CRAZY , Caleb shade is unmatched
Watching him cut those cards was like watching a young hunter get his first kill. Hope you have a good season.
I knew the moment he made rocket science out of just saying he’s a realtor that this is going to be a good episode 😂
Would be good to see more varied financial situations on the channel.. can't tell them apart right now
They just have to sign up!
Meeee
I think it would be super interesting for Caleb to have a series about real estate investing. Getting into it, what kind of people should, and just tips and tricks about it
There are a bunch of good shows (if you’re a cord cutter) on Paramount+. I agree with one of your other commenters. It would be nice to see more varied interviewees. How about some of us with money??? How do we manage it? How about some older folks with debt (might inspire younger folks to get real about spending)? Love watching your interviews but need a bit more variety.
