Sir Les, a man of integrity, and who gave the Rs his best as a player and DoF. Shame on those ‘fans’ who got personal when it wasn’t going well. By all means, have an opinion that they didn’t think he was very good, but, some got personal and were out of order. I wish him every success.

Les was brilliant. Great in the air. Fast. Strong. An excellent finisher. He first scored a hatful of goals in the 1992/93 season at QPR then continued to score prolifically for quite several seasons. His partnership at QPR with Kevin Gallen and then his move to Newcastle enabled Les to show us what a superb forward he truly was. I don't care about footballers' colour and I never have cos it isn't interesting what colour a person's skin is. It's what is inside a person's heart and inside their head that is important in a person. Not their skin colour. That's about as interesting as what height they are. I don't think hardly any supporters in 2024 in stadiums do either. Good.

Newcastle fan here. From what I have learned over years & heard Les say. Newcastle thought £6 million for a 30 year old was too good to turn down plus we'd be ok with Shearer/Asprilla. But Shearer got injured so they asked Les (who never wanted to leave) to stay. Les felt disrespected so went to Spurs. With Ginola, I've been told he wanted to leave and go to London. I do know Barcelona wanted him a season prior but we didn't sell him. Kenny Dalgish ruined us for 4 years by dismantling the team selling 3 of our best players in Les, Ginola, Beardsley plus Robbie Elliott and John Beresford & later Asprilla. And he replaced them with past it Barnes, Rush, & flops likes Andreas Andersson, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Pistone, Des Hamilton & his son Paul.

    A great interview Simon
Im a massive QPR fan and love Les and what he truly tried to do for our club
He’s bang on with he says about Directors boxes and the points he made about Blacks and opportunities
I do think he missed a massive opportunity not to manage my club
I think he’d have been great
Players would have respected and responded to him and the fans would have loved him
He’s played at all levels - even in Turkey- and that would have helped him
Perhaps he should still go into management
Great bloke as well….. infectious smile
Sir Lesley always to me and my fellow Rangers fans 💙🤍💙🤍

I'd like to point out in my opinion without equality racism will obviously always exist. Its not just a race thing though , we have women who are now commentating on football matches that shouldn't be doing the job. There are male ex players who would do the job better with more passion and knowledge who haven't got the job because they are male ! I am f/male and I find it embarrassing. I want women to get top jobs but not on the grounds of gender or race. Equality all the way, sod feminism and sod all the other crap ! Just my opinion ppl.

Hi there, I agree with his views on racism, but you cannot just say that it's down to the colour of your skin. I think John Barnes feels the same way. Why not go against the grain and try management? Nothing will change , unless you challenge the status quo.

@@claudeanderson5966 BLM in America claims being punctual and on time is white supremacy - unfortunately, real racism is overshadowed by nonsense these days. "I've never been in negotiations over a move to another club and thought WOW I would love to play in this stadium every week!! A stadium is a stadium and I can only speak for myself but the size of a football stadium never had any impact or baring on where ever I ended up during my career."
And I'm the same way with shirt numbers. Personally I couldn't give a toss what squad number I was given at a football club.
The opportunity to play professional football would of been MORE THAN ENOUGH for me.
I think AC Milan sat down with Andriy Shevchenko like YEARS ago and offered him €5 million to give up the no. 7 shirt because they were going after David Beckham at the time and they wanted to use the fact that he could have it himself during negotiations. Facts, one or two idiots are racist and then they make out there’s a massive problem. Most people don’t give a fuck about colour but also don’t want to be bombarded with woke propaganda

People like winning, when it comes to having a strong team, clubs and fans just want to win. Black people have, and always, will be treated as second-class citizens. It's disgusting. And I'm afraid your comment just adds to that part of the problem. It shows where your mind is and your conditioning is. You don't need to feel defensive.

The Super League came through about 12 people at the top. Stopping it about was about changing the decision of those 12 people.
Racism can come from multiple unknown people, often with no prior warning.
Stopping them are two completely different things.
Even though they are both important

agreed - racism exists outside football & is brought in, although it's thankfully rare in modern football - 1400 incidents reported across all english football levels last season; 8200+ league games in top 4 leagues alone

Super League a very bad idea. Uncompetitive league totally unfair. Vital to stop it. Barcelona and other clubs still want it.
