I worked back in the 90s as a contract security officer assigned to Hartsfield International. Cross-trained as a passenger screener and also as a X-Ray Scanner operator, on my first assignment., and the FAA required that we be certified for it, we had random testing with no notice. Back when I was working we only opened something if the scanner image on The Operators screen was so inconclusive you would have no choice but to open it and we got supervisor approval in order to do it. If you saw how some people pack their luggage in order to obstruct something they shouldn't have you would understand why. And the same thing happens with mail as well more than people would realize. And also realize the Imaging technology has changed has been upgraded from what they were using when I was working.
@@VanK782 they had a training class on what to look for using lost luggage and clothing that was never recovered that passengers left at baggage claim holding area. We would be taught how passengers normally layout luggage when they are trying to hide something and taught the various Imaging techniques used to discover weapons. We did this in the classroom first before we ever did it IRL I don't know if TSA is following the same method or training or they're doing it different. I'm just relating how I was trained at the time

When you have a camera crew behind you, it makes you nervous. I’ve been in a commercial 3 times for quick scenes and you get really nervous because you only get one shot because the camera crew gets really angry if they do multiple takes. I got in all 3 commercials.

Normally they just destroy it. Had an old acquaintance who regularly bought heroin online, he always told me that there’s absolutely 0 way to know that you had any involvement in the purchasing of it. People get sent the wrong mail all the time, don’t worry about it. If they do seize it, they’re not gonna come busting your door down. I also think it might depend on the amount.

Yup. When customs seizes a package they send you a letter with options to what to do. But it’s not like they will arrest you. They don’t destroy the packages immediately. They do it after many months

Yeah, they make importing street drugs like heroin harder, drives up prices causing more crime and/or people turning to fentanyl as you can import less and get more out of it. Meaning more people are taking fentanyl, something your far more likely to OD from and has like 1/4 the half life so you have to use it more to keep from going into withdrawals if your dependent. Every 3 or 4 hours compared to 12 with heroin.
It’s not much different than why smugglers in the 70s went from shipping marijuana to cocaine, you smuggle less of it and make more money. Except in this case it’s a ridiculously strong opioid.

Half of these counterfeit goods are more than likely just going to people trying to save a large amount of money on a watch. I highly doubt some of these goods are intended to be sold on as real nowadays.
