Saw it happen once on nyalotha LFR, for the final Nzoth. Some 'dude-bros' on the raid kicked someone who was doing top dps, legit calmly explaining mechanics and even managing the raid teams because "lol try-hard gtfo"
I had that in a normal raid some days ago. a cocky ass 220 equipped prot paladin joined out of "boredom" just to link dps meter after every boss and saying "the feeling when you as a tank are amongst top 3 dps..." oh lord. He had a warm spot on my ignore list.
Has it really gotten this bad? I remember back in the day heroic raiders mostly gave LFR raiders shit for all the fights being too easy for them, with gimped mechanics and "welfare loot". This was in Pandaria days
@@Agamemnon2 With the current state of the playerbase and generally the types of players drawn to LFR they are mostly unco-ordinated and don't bother to look up boss tactics and feel they can just Zerg the trash and Boss which in some cases you can but Nyalotha was brutal on N'Zoth fight I remember wiping like 40 times on the fight until the raid members finally got down the mechanics.
As someone’s who had seven strokes from a brain injury in Afghanistan, I genuinely pissed myself laughing at first story with the remark “Was fox having a stroke” 🤣
I still laugh at the time I was farming legendaries in legion, #1 on healing and #3 on damage when a message popped up in chat that I should get kicked because I "queued as healer but dpses"
@@krissam7791 I usually queue as heal and do dps, so far I've only had one person notice (after a sludgefist wipe due to the boss smashing one of the pillars) and I just asked "do we need more healing", to which the entire raid group came to my defense saying no
I remember getting into a LFR that was half way through Uldum at Zul, and it took the group 1 hour to get Zul down. And even then it was one of those pulls where only 3 out of 20 was left standing and 2 of them were healers and 1 dps.
In LFR just do all the mechanics for the group and coach the tanks on what to do. If you do this, you will be successful in CN. 0 issues on my alts this tier.
This story reminded me of a legendary warrior back in Vanilla named Smooth. I was a healer and every time he tanked he would yell "ALL HEALS ON SMOOTH" not big heals ALL heals.. Good times! I miss that guy he was hilarious.
“Imagine how mythic characters feel” back in Nighthold, my hunter literally tanking Gul’dan LFR. We pulled with only one tank, and he got knocked off the platform early on. So since I was next on threat boss came to me, realized he literally didn’t hit hard enough to really do that much damage and healers were able to keep me up and we proceeded to kill him easily with me just handling al the Tank mechanics. LFR is hilarious some times.
@@maddy02_ no, pets can’t taunt bosses I was MM, and just held threat because of Damage. I was doing triple the next dudes DPS or something like that so wasn’t hard to keep threat.
I already said it live, but I'll reiterate how much that LFR story DH tank reminds me of almost every PUG DH I run into. Every time I see a PUG collapse from toxicity, 9 times out of 10, it's a DH tank at the center.
I once waited 10 hours to do LFR. It was Siege of Orgrimmar, and we did each wing back to back in less than 2 hours, which considering deaths and the absolute state of LFR back then, is cosmic luck. I did, in fact, have fun.
I mean, I mostly do lfr as my irl job schedule is too chaotic to regularly attend anything. But lfr becomes a blast if you dont view it as raiding. Instead, try viewing it as a slap stick parody of raiding. Enter every raid with the three stooges intro.
When I do LFR the DPS queue is usually the fastest one. Then again I don't go much anymore because... it's LFR. Though these days it is also one of the fastest ways to get that 1000 soul ash mission done for alt #37 that you waited too long on and now there are not good WQs up...
Why do people stay in guilds with these horrible leadership situations. I'm a GM, and I'm FAR from perfect ofc, but I feel like if I were like our boy fox here none of my people would stick around at all.

Wait, guilds give EPGP for dungeon content? How is that not 1000% exploitable? I've always been under loot council and been lucky but the minute the GM promotes their EPGP status or rank of a girl, I would immediately /gquit as that is corrupt AF.
Yeah huntsman is...... fun. Had a group that wiped several times cause they wouldn’t break the CC so it broke free at 99 stacks and then no one switched targets and we wiped. That group was followed by one were we had overactive druids and we had to reapply CC constantly. It’s weird how in this LFR the first LFR boss is often harder than the last.
Love how the lfr paladin is kythian, the original name of Gideon the mono white plainswalker from mtg, who in essence is pretty much a paladin. He even had an everything proof sheild like the paladin bubble
So much of that last story made no sense. I’ve done lfr a lot and have never seen anything like it. Especially kicking someone for being elitist. Most of the time people are appreciative when someone explains how to do a fight or are doing a lot of damage.
I've actually done LFR council 3-4 times and never had an issue with Dance Macabre. Most of my runs were one shots, tho i do queue as tank so maybe I just get luck in sorting
It's totally possible. My old guild was stuck there on hc for 2 hours because people didnt realize they had to reach their spotlight to start dancing... they're 7/10m now.
i only do lfr, cause pugging in shadowlands can go to hell and i mostly play classic. it's a big confidence boost to be on top on every boss as BM hunter and also alittle sad

It's funny; when I hear your stories, I have a ton of memories that just come flowing back. From the frustrating (like the time I told a group I'd be afk for like 2 minutes in a dungeon and they pulled the final boss then had the nerve to blame me when they wiped in cata) to the joyous (like raiding normal SoO and having a friend turn on jurassic Park music for the fight versus Thok) to the infuriatingly hilarious (like the dozens of times we wiped in Gnomregon from people not dismissing their pets. I swear I never got mad at it because it was just all of the sudden 30 mobs swarming us and beating the shit out of the healer. Usually only happened once per run too since the person wouldn't be dumb enough to do it twice.) I might have long since quit wow, but the memories always get me.
I’ve really never had many problems with LFR, it is what it is. A bunch of non raiders in. But the mechanics wind down and it becomes quite easy. Your only issue is with tanks being severely ignorant of BASIC mechanics. I have tanked Denathrius on a 188? I think? Warrior. First time tanking it as I main a dps and healer. I had no problems. With just remembering some of movement from previous raids downed it in one time.

Sure, I believe dumb raid chat and aggressive self proclaimed "big pumpers". Spending wait time with pets and toys out, I don't see why that's unusual? You can see which bosses you queue for so I don't get the confusion about starting with Huntsman, and getting kicked for being top dps only happens if they're being an ass/bragging in raid chat.
TD was the buggiest dungeon of BfA, lots of mobs randomly fell down to the lower floors and pulled stuff, the walls had some bug that caused AoE effects like twilight devastation to damage enemies through the walls, the last boss was designed/tuned in a way that he would one-shot players with his arrow ability when they had no defensives on very high keys...
The 2nd story is why I hate to pug....*edit* As far as the last story goes I have never had LFR kick me for doing to much dps. I do love how people that run lfr all the time don't know any mechanic. i had someone on the Sire when it first came out on LFR telling the raid that you needed to drop all stacks by hitting the boss before you got pulled down for P2 or you would die. When i told him that wasn't correct he told me he had killed Sire in LFR 5 times already today. He stopped talking because as he linked the achieve for killing sire on any difficulty I linked Ahead of the curve. On the next pull he again started spamming the same incorrect info.
My server is full of elitist normal and heroic guilds (only 1 serious mythic guild)... Im currently in a guild that uses a very odd dkp system to make it work... lol i cba to raid with them tbh... rather pug or run m+
He played with a mega stoner. I'm not THAT bad, I'm at least cognizant enough to finish keys, but I'll totally zone out and auto run into mobs or pull bosses unthinkingly lol.

What do people even mean by speculating a WoW 2? Don't Blizzard release that every 2 years with expansions? Hell at this point every patch replaces the whole game. I don't even know what a WoW 2 would look like that wouldn't kill WoW 1 immediately. Although Blizzard were dumb enough to release that they were working on an Overwatch 2 and look where 1 has gone...
WoW 2 means WoW in a completely new engine. At this point the engine’s like 15 years old or something, which means there’s a lot they can’t do with it anymore. Some people want the same WoW just in a new engine, others want a quasi-restart to the game.

There's ZERO, wait cut that, fewer than zero, reasons to kill their golden goose WoW for a WoW2 with a new engine. It just gives every player an exit point for their subscription and has zero upside.
@@TheStuYo WoW needs a new engine at some point. The engine is part of the reason why there's so much server instability, and it's just going to get worse as time goes on. Side note, a new engine doesn't necessarily mean something is harder to run. If anything, FF14's engine makes it easier to run than WoW most of the time (and it runs better 100% of the time).
Back in MoP I remember people would pull Thunder King, and wipe as soon as it was long enough to get a stack of determination and wait until you had 10 to even actually try.
I don't know Mike , i'm 28 and am i'm starting to get that balding hairline and i was a little concerned about it , but kinda relaxed when i was going to work one morning and in the subway i started to notice all men , young and old , having the same " condition" as me ,so.. we are not alone , it's normal to go bald and when the grass can't grow anymore , i'm gonna go full bald + facial hair and hit the gym
back in the day when i raided, my guild would use discord and i would have that on ptt then my circle would use curse voice on ptm(mute) on the same hotkey. we didnt have any problems with coms and we were on top of our guild at the time.

I've seen my share of LFR shenanigans, but kicking someone for "showing off" by being first on the damage meter is complete news to me.

My guild progressing on Heroic, on Dire. I like to do LFR for Mogs, and as long as I say what the tanks need to do, it goes pretty well.
My personal problem with LFR is that it is so mind numbingly boring (Heroic guy as well, just not playing atm)

DKP system is pretty gross considering personal loot is already in place.
The author of the +4 pug story should have just gone outside the dungeon, switch to tank spec and tank the rest of the dungeon

What do people even mean by speculating a WoW 2? Don't Blizzard release that every 2 years with expansions? Hell at this point every patch replaces the whole game. I don't even know what a WoW 2 would look like that wouldn't kill WoW 1 immediately. Although Blizzard were dumb enough to release that they were working on an Overwatch 2 and look where 1 has gone...
WoW 2 means WoW in a completely new engine. At this point the engine’s like 15 years old or something, which means there’s a lot they can’t do with it anymore. Some people want the same WoW just in a new engine, others want a quasi-restart to the game.

@@ethanomihombre There is a restart, its called classic. If Blizzard were interested in a new engine for the game, they'd just introduce it in an expansion. There's ZERO, wait cut that, fewer than zero, reasons to kill their golden goose WoW for a WoW2 with a new engine. It just gives every player an exit point for their subscription and has zero upside.
@@TheStuYo WoW needs a new engine at some point. The engine is part of the reason why there's so much server instability, and it's just going to get worse as time goes on. Side note, a new engine doesn't necessarily mean something is harder to run. If anything, FF14's engine makes it easier to run than WoW most of the time (and it runs better 100% of the time).

Back in MoP I remember people would pull Thunder King, and wipe as soon as it was long enough to get a stack of determination and wait until you had 10 to even actually try.
Didnt they introduce determination stacks in lfr in tomb of sargeras...?

I don't thing I ever saw an lfr nzoth kill without full stacks.
Lfr is such a cesspool. I used to take my dk tanking as blood decked out in mythic dps gear back in WoD just to outdps everybody.

I don't know Mike , i'm 28 and am i'm starting to get that balding hairline and i was a little concerned about it , but kinda relaxed when i was going to work one morning and in the subway i started to notice all men , young and old , having the same " condition" as me ,so.. we are not alone , it's normal to go bald and when the grass can't grow anymore , i'm gonna go full bald + facial hair and hit the gym
back in the day when i raided, my guild would use discord and i would have that on ptt then my circle would use curse voice on ptm(mute) on the same hotkey. we didnt have any problems with coms and we were on top of our guild at the time.
