It is because of you that I am building a tank dedicated to some of these beautiful little gems - I watch these over and over. As always - this video evokes a lot of emotion - fantastic shot of their "embrace". You are absolutely brilliant at this - the recording quality on a basic phone - the music - so perfectly crafted yet simplistic. I cannot say it enough. Thank you once again.
I literally went through the whole gamut of emotions during the other Sparkling video - literally misty eyed at some points. Brilliant work here for sure :) ps: good taste in videos btw!
ditto. I never knew a fish tank can be so beautiful.my uncle always had fish tanks when I was little, 100 gal, 200 gal. but they were always so plain looking. fake plants with the background poster haha. but putting in the work gets you something great.I think I'm gonna save up and plan to build something as such.
Crying my eyes out right now. I hope that they try again. So heartbreaking just watching him sit there and wait and kinda nudge them.... Your channel is making me so emotional...
this is such a rare footage. sparkling gouramies are not that populer and unlike betta fish we cant control when they will breed, they breed when they want to so it is very hard to get a video like this. so sad that after all that hardwork put in by those fish and you those eggs did not hatch. i realy love your vids and i have been a long time fine
I was also inspired to keep the pygmy or sparkling gourami's by you. I had set up a aqua-scaped nano tank about 5 weeks ago and saw that my local fish store had 4 juveniles in stock, so I assumed it was meant to be. I've had them for a bout a week and really enjoy the way they interact with their environment. Curious and graceful. Thank you for this video.
question: were either of them pursuing the other one rather aggressively and croaking prior to this. Trying to figure out if i have two males fighting or what could be leading to breeding behavior. all i see is one chasing the other, and of course flaring fins and croaking.
heey amazing video again, trying to get my hands on those fish to but my local fish store did not have them so looking further because they are so amazing to watch over tiem and they won't get boring :p
Tank is 20 inches long by 12 inches by 9.5 inches high. (50cm x 30 x 24). the baffles are 5.5cm wide. The black acrylic wall is 2cm lower than the tank itself. The pump is generic Chinese made. I think it's 7 watts.
Please tell me how to differentiate in a group which one is a male or a female ? I have 2 and i am going to purchase 4 more next month . Love your videos !
It's really hard. I still get confused sometimes. The male is ever so slightly more colorful. The female is all around tiny bit duller. www.plantedtank.net/forums/21-fish/1006009-sparkling-gourami-tank-size.html My female has a tiny tear on her caudal fin, that's how I know and I see her next to the alpha male. they hang out together all of the time, that's how I know. Sorry, it's quite difficult to say.
Hi bro I have query about my flower horn. He is so active & healty. But from last two days he is not feeding well. I have fit a mirror in his tank ,he is continious staying in front of the mirror. Because of that he is not feeding ???
yes. You should remove that mirror. You should use the mirror only few minutes max. Actually, the mirror is not needed at all if your fh is bothered by it.
I saw a video similar to this one, of Fish breeding, but in that video when the male “picks up” the egg it never came out. The designated nest was empty. Did he eat it?
So i'm going to buy Sparkling gouramis with some peppered cory cats and maybe other fish but im wondering how do you create humidity in a fishtank well humidity above the water line, since these fish need it because just like bettas they go up and get air but they need humidity to breath though so i've been pretty confused on how to do that! Please help!!
You don't really need humidity in the air above the tank. I think you're talking about the fry needing that. All you need is a lid for you tank, and there'll be plenty of humidity above water line.
I'm sure someone has asked and it's been answered but I'm very unintelligent when it comes to fish. Is this fish "hugging" the female to squeeze out an egg then he goes to place it to fertilize it? Or did I miss something. This is very cool to watch! I'm just curious as to what's going on exactly. (Other than I know their mating)
I’ve just recently started keeping fish again....bought home 5 sparklings 4 days ago and today one pair hooked up....after many twists n squeezes then taking eggs up to surface under some live plant leaves I’m crossing fingers they will be guarded n eventually hatch. Unsure whether to remove or leave as is n let nature take its course. There’s 5 sparklings and 2 kuhli loaches in this 46 litre.
Im really interested in this whole "Paludarium" thing. I feel like I wanna make one too, just one question is it suitable to keep a plecostomus in there? Because I fear itll eat up small creatures like those nano shrimps and I dont want that. Plus I really love plecos :)
Interesting that they’re not laying their eggs near the surface. Mine just did this (not intended) and I’m just watching the male defend the nest and wondering what to do
I know this is an old video, but still would like to point out that if you keep enough of them together in a big tank they most likely will, over time, self-select for color. At least if you keep them in a situation where the females can be choosy
It would be just too many fry to take care of. I'm not a breeder, and I don't want to get to the point of having multiple tanks full of gouramis. Getting rid of them would be a headache also...
Foo the Flowerhorn that’s fair enough mate. I wouldn’t want to be a breeder either, I would end up just keeping them all and having no where to sit in my house. Lol 😂
I think that, similar to betta fry, the eggs need a supply of fresh air. I had a spawn in which most of the eggs hatched but some got caught in the folds of the bubble wrap, creating anaerobic conditions which might have suffocated them, as they never hatched. Also, does anyone know how to properly determine their gender? I got 4 of these and they all look like males(no ovaries but they’re still less than an inch) but have round and pointy fins.

I get a lot of inspiration from this guys videos! Glad to see we are watching the same stuff lmao.

Me too here inspired from this passionate stuffs..

Bubble nest under the wood looks so cute. I like the music
Good work 🤗
Good bro you uploading videos after a long break
A few days ago, I got 3 pygmy gouramis into my tank.
Dude, just buy your fish some protection, and you won't have to deal with the fry!
Wow they're beautiful and pretty fishes haven't seen anything like that around here
the music you used is like an aquarium game lul
this is sad and beautiful at the same time ;;
question: were either of them pursuing the other one rather aggressively and croaking prior to this. Trying to figure out if i have two males fighting or what could be leading to breeding behavior. all i see is one chasing the other, and of course flaring fins and croaking.
How to tell male from female?
heey amazing video again, trying to get my hands on those fish to but my local fish store did not have them so looking further
because they are so amazing to watch over tiem and they won't get boring :p
Im Too Sad... :(
Cause my Flowehorn died...
but i wont leave your channel!
Ill kept seeing your channel!
I wont give up!
I'm sorry for your loss ;-;
How big does this guys get? Do they eat snails that are bigger than them? Are they suitable in a 16 gallon tank?
They are full grown. Around inch and a half. They don't eat snails. Yes, this tank is only 9 gallons.
I absolutely love this video. Thank you so much for sharing this.
How deep is the internal sump in the back? Full length of the tank and 2 in deep? Also what pump is that?

Your videos always make my day.
smiling the entire time, truly amazing video!

Foo the Flowerhorn ah okay thank you so much! And thanks for the great content!
You make 10/5 videos great job very well done
Where did you buy these from?
I'm sure someone has asked and it's been answered but I'm very unintelligent when it comes to fish. Is this fish "hugging" the female to squeeze out an egg then he goes to place it to fertilize it? Oh okay, I see he collects the eggs that fall out.
R they available in india

How can I get this fish
They looked like they hugged awww
Aww was nice to watch all the hard work and no babies beautiful fish though Have you still got your betta fish
Sadly my betta is gone. The tumor came back. I did a tribute video.
These are my favorite fish but I can' breed them due to my water hardness. You're so lucky! Too lucky apparently lol
Im really interested in this whole "Paludarium" thing. I feel like I wanna make one too, just one question is it suitable to keep a plecostomus in there? Because I fear itll eat up small creatures like those nano shrimps and I dont want that. Plus I really love plecos :)

Can u have these fish with a male batta?
Probably not. Male Bettas usually prefer to be alone when it comes to other fish
Is there a certain reason the eggs didn't hatch?
I know this is an old video, but still would like to point out that if you keep enough of them together in a big tank they most likely will, over time, self-select for color. At least if you keep them in a situation where the females can be choosy
I have a 10 gallon tank and want a gourami should I get one?
10 gallon is plenty for these guys. This is tank is 9 gallons.
This is sooo cool bro i have tetras in i wish they did this
Just out of curiosity, why don’t you want them to breed? They’re pretty cool fish.
It would be just too many fry to take care of. I'm not a breeder, and I don't want to get to the point of having multiple tanks full of gouramis. Getting rid of them would be a headache also...

Where is Foo, sir ?
Why theirs fin colour up?
I think they do that when they get ready for mating.
0:39 HE HUG!!!

how to know male or female guys?
Male = build nest
Female = stomach big
One of my favorite gouramis, if not the favorite. I love it when they croak!
Wow! Life is a beautiful thing to watch!
Great idea, those onscreen comments. .
This is a beautiful video... perfect shoot
I thought these were mouth brooded by the males?
Are they hugging
i thought he was hugging her just for fun but i guess he's trying to squeeze the eggs out of her and then catch them in his mouth??
I want that fish😭😭
My country dont have that
I wish i could do this with betta. putting male and female in the same tank without seperating them.
dude make a gigantic tank pls a big one with more life in it
Damn, im so early dude, 17mins after upload
Absalutly amazing!
AW THEY HUG THATS SO CUTE
Nice video!
Nature is amazing
i think the eggs didn't hatch b/c they didn't have access to air for O2, so they died
Yes yes very nice fish
Gouramis are the most similar fish to betta. Is it just me or these look like wild bettas 😂
