Best 3 row crossover for the money. I typically hate this segment of car but the CX9 is an exception. Mazda has been perfecting it since 2016 and it still holds up.
DJ Pleasure Seeking Missle how can u hate this segment it’s simply one the best you get cargo capaccity of a full size suv with sedan like handling
Andrew White well, because people have different preferences in cars, just like many other things. I am personally not a fan of SUVs. Is that a crime?
@@DJPleasureSeekingMissle im sorry i didnt mean to offend you, its just that i rarely hear people say they dont like suvs
Andrew White that’s shocking....
I've been waiting on this 2021 review as well.
Mazda Cx 9 is one of the best car in lineup.I like this color.
You guys are doing your best to bring us perfect car reviews 🤘🤘🙏🙏
Thank you 😊
The new Mazda CX-9 carbon edition is so beautiful!
Yes! I have been waiting for this review!
I really love the 2021 Mazda cx 9 Carbon edition! It’s really nice! I love the black wheels and red Interior! It’s a awesome price too
Wish they would have included the heads up display and 360 camera, and just raised the price by 1200 or so. I love that the bucket seats have the open pass through instead of the bulky center council that comes on the GT and Signature.
The Kuro edition in Canada has the hud and 360…
i love your channel, im a huge fan of your work
Thank you! We appreciate that! 😁
Keep up the good work.
Stay blessed.
Lots of love from Dubai.
Thanks! We appreciate it! 😁
Loved the format and review thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful car - love the red seats! Mazda stying is functional & very good looking & delivers a lot for the price. It even ate your coupons! Great review - you guys are closing in on 250k subs - bet you get there before 2021!!
Thanks! That would be amazing if we can get there that quickly!
I have a black 2020 CX-9 touring premium and I had the wheels powder coated black like the rims on this car. I also tinted the front windows. I get lots of looks and questions about my vehicle.
good job guys
Bought the kuro trim ( equivalent of the carbon here in Canada). Throughly pleased with my purchase. Only downside is that for some reason the upgraded infotainment system is not available in Canada. Will need to take car to dealership for software upgrade when available.
What an amazing SUV 🇳🇬
Very good review, as always.
Thanks!
Just got mine love it
Wow Mazda. Beautiful styling!
Really like the changes compared to the regular CX-9, however I only wish it was offered in multiple colours besides grey.
Yes I agree, black would be great to start with.
Love this SUV! Love the CX5 too! Who else saw the previous GEN Mazda CX-9 in the left inside lane at 21:28? Also this carbon edition is really nice. I wish Mazda would add maybe two more color options on this trim,
,the pearl white and the metallic black, though the poly
metal gray does look nice! Any of these three color choices would look great with the red interior seats!😁👍🏻
Mazda is very stylish but not 'over'.. goodjob mazda
The color, the design and the features makes it perfect.
Not the engine. It is pretty much the slowest 3-row SUV available today, although it is nice around town.
@hiroshima thompson from a 4-cyl? I thought Koreans use 6-cyl engines, for better or worse.
@hiroshima thompson so Mazdas engine is comparable in HP to Santa Fe and is much, much higher in torque? Not sure about 6-cyl, but in real life driving Mazdas engine is the highest performing 4-cyl engine among competitors.
Beautiful
It’s a beautiful SUV...the color is nice!
Wonderful review! Also, the top end Signature trim also has paddles on the back of the steering wheel. I can confirm that from a video posted this morning by Redline Reviews of the Signature trim. 👍🏻
Thanks!
LOOKS VERY GOOD SPECIALLY THE RED INSIDE !🔥🔥🔥👍
Love it!
Just got one yesterday
The CX-9 drives really, REALLY good. Outside of a Durango RT or Explorer ST, I can't think of another SUV of this class that drives so well, far smaller than it is. That said, the CX-9 has a problem and that problem is called the Kia Telluride. Unfortunately, 90% of buyers in this class are emotion buyers. Driving dynamics are put behind value, features, warranty, and yes, costs. While I agree the materials of top shelf CX-9s are superior to the Kia, Kia just spent the money where it counts such as infotainment, packaging engineering, etc. The CX-9 reminds me an awful lot of what occurred with the VW Touareg. It was a very capable midsized SUV that was wanting to portray a luxury image, but the Jeep Grand Cherokee was always present in its face and was every bit as good offroad, towing, power, etc. Now, if Mazda ever drops the diesel in the CX-9 and/or redesign with a more accommodating interior(space), it will be tough to beat!
I used to be a VW diehard but I’ve lost confidence in them, I’d still buy a GTI though, Mk7. Mazda just flies under the radar in this class in my opinion. Needs to get a little daring and make it stand out a bit more design wise. Not for me because I like the way it looks. But to sell more to the masses, they need to.
Telluride is an ugly box on wheels.
I never really paid attention to this car but it’s very beautiful inside out Mazda is very creative this looks soo much better than the pathfinder great review about it
george ibrahim same here. Every time I see them on the road I just can’t stop staring at them. I think they’re so beautiful. I’m so glad I got to spend a week with a rental CX9 grand touring when I went on vacation. Me and my family really enjoyed this SUV!
Eleanor Massaro yea unfortunately we don’t have it in Europe here ☹️
Best looking 3-row.
@@yes8032 why ?
@@nobunaga-oda because people don’t have big family’s here
I just took my mazda to go get maintenance and saw this beauty on the lot
Awesome!
Awesome review as always! Bummer about having no vents in the 3rd row.
Thanks!
#1 to deter me from this vehicle, then the lack of cargo space
When I went shopping for a three row in late 2018, the CX-9 was in the top of the running. It was definitely the best looking and best handling vehicle at the time. There were only a couple detractors. The overall cargo space with all the seats down. The third row leg and headroom. The lack of Mazda dealers in my area for service and maintenance. Ultimately I choose the Subaru Ascent which I’m extremely happy with. However had I gone shopping six months later the Kia Telluride probably would have come out on top.
Good choice
If space is not the concern and you don't use the 3 row or are not a large person the CX-9 is the winner if you care about power and driving dynamics. I've driven them all and it just is. The torque and handling blow the others away. Best looking for sure. It does not have the most room that is for sure but as a retired couple with no kids or grand-kids this is still the winner..

I love Mazda 3 wagon new one. Very good looking
Howdy, great review as always y’all! I’m quite a fan of the CX-9 and I think this is probably the best trim to get it in! Quick question, could you review the Sedona sometime or maybe Forte please? Thanks!😸😻😸
Yep, planning on doing some Kias soon!
Am I crazy or is wireless charging absolutely pointless in a vehicle when 99% of the time it has to be plugged in to use apple carplay or Android auto?
Other people in the vehicle have phones bud.
Well I used to think that but now cars have wireless Apple CarPlay. Not sure if this one does
@@joshua9073 all Mazda cars 2018 + have Apple Carplay

Those are some big ass seats!
Great review!! Could you do the nee cx-5 next?
Thanks! And we're going to soon!
How is the fit for 6ft plus drivers? I've heard it may be too cramped.
My advice to you to go with the Grand Touring model.
For some reason I think this review will be one of the most talked about in quite some time. Although the Signature is my favorite, this trim level shouldn't be slept on. Will 2021 be a hot year for car sales or what!
I legit hope that infotainment system trickles down to the Mazda6, and that I can ask the dealership to replace the old one. The firmware upgrade I got for it did seem to make the old one be a bit speedier, but it is showing its age.
Change all the shiny bits in gloss black and matt black, a rear diffuser, more hp 400 and you have a perfect car
Kevon Evans its going to be $60k+ which most cant afford. It is a family car. Not a race car. Smh
Is it true that the piano black scratches easily?
I've got a CX 5 Carbon Edition reserved. I'm just waiting for it to arrive, hopefully by early November. For soem reason, they released the CX 9 ahead of the CX 5.

Black out the chrome, bigger rotors, better seats, and get rid of the regular turn signals for LED and it would be good.
does it have lane centering adaptive cruise control? not that lane keep assist crap. want the vehicle to drive itself on the highway like most of the new vehicles
Android Auto and Apple Car Play work best with a touch screen. Inputs require fewer steps, it is more intuitive, and it is less distracting. Having a touch screen is a must for me.
i have a 2019 CX-5 and i don't miss touchscreen. When your hand is rested on top of the center console the wheel is right at your fingertips. I consider it less a distraction. With touchscreen you will definitely watch the screen more and when your body moves due to G-force it's harder to make precision touches.
@@denziiey I hear that simple tasks like finding a radio station while driving is next to impossible with Mazda's system. Lots of people don't care for dial or pad controls.
@@haze1123 the Mazda connect system, yes. I will attest that. But for AA it's pretty dam good for the wheel. Carplay isn't as wheel friendly though. Apple designed it merely for touchscreen but AA works well with or without touchscreen
i hope the 2021 CX-5 gets a screen this big. the competition is way ahead.
it is!
Only reason I wouldn’t buy a Mazda :/
Looks like you missed to highlight and mention the "racing red" stitching?
Would you guys do a review on the Jeep Gladiator? I’d really love to hear your opinion about it.
It's shit. Hope this helps.
love the cx9 i own a GT.but..for this to beat competitor's it needs at least 50 more horse.100 would be a beast.V6 turbo?
As the smallest independent mainstream automaker on the planet and plagued with terrible sales with almost every model (except the CX-5), Mazda doesn't have the resources to update their engines and drive trains. That's why they're seeking a $2.8 billion loan from Japanese banks to prevent the brand from failing altogether.
It doesn’t have remote start it doesn’t have a power telescope steering wheel it doesn’t have different drive modes for the price it should have all of these .
Just wish the second row was a bench seat for my dog.
Would be cool in 2016.
Great review! Does this have ADD (heads up display)?
Thanks! Not on this trim, but you can get it with the Grand Touring or the Signature
@@CarConfections Im in Canada and on the Mazda.ca site it says Wildshield-projected colour Active Driving Display (ADD) is standard on the Kuro. Guess we have ADD on this. Lucky us 😊
Mazda connect 2!!
Can't tow much and when loaded....ie kids and luggage- the power isn't enough. But lovely car
Spare tire ???
Please review the Mazda 6 Carbon Edition. I can't even find them on Mazda's website.
We are planning on it once they arrive at dealerships!
Yes, please! 😁
No CX9 has vents in the third row?? Mazda needs to add them
There are vents in the floor
why didn't you show the capacity with 3rd row seats down?
Please tell mazda to get a better key fob. I have 2019 and the key fob, not only look ugly but also cheap and very fragile. If it falls on the floor the black cover flies off and must get a replacement.
Mazda must make the luggage space bigger. The rest is great.
You can put down the last row of seats since they are too cramped to be useful and this car suddenly has a huge amount of cargo space
Its enough room
no bench seat option on this edition?
Yea, no bench seat, which is a bummer.
wow Mazda knows about the foot wave feature for the trunk. LOL. why don't they make all of their cars with these premium features?
I like the cx9 and cx5 just the front grill ruins it for me.
Terrible to be underpowered with a buzzing 4 cylinder, awful road noise, and stiff ride. On the test drive you could tell it was slow to upshift. It could never handle the Colorado highways and keep up with traffic. No wonder it's priced so cheap. Great video, very good details and videography! Top notch review in auto journalism.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video
Have you driven one?
Mazda would make a killing if they did that to the CX5.
Dave Wolly they are
Who else is here to see the screen update?
Is the 2021 cx5 going to have the updated infotainment?
I hope so! Mazda’s infotainment has been lacking
Yes, it is going to have the same screen!
The only new thing about it is the display and the key fob
Mazda is the best
The interior is 99% same as my 2016 Mazda 6 Luxury Package.
should i buy this or the new tesla?
Which 3 row crossover is best. Mazda CX-9 or Toyota Highlander
JaguarLandRoverGuy03 KIA Telluride.
Highlander > Everyone Else (even Honda Pilot)
Kia? Lol. It turns to shit after 100k miles.
Wow so basically it make it look nice cuz of the rims Nd the leather seat!! But the grand touring has more better future's!!
Work on your English...
Cx-9 carbon or telluride ex ? WhT to get need advise
Both are very nice. The biggest consideration difference is probably space so make sure to check that out in person
@@CarConfections indeed and its 8k-10k more for the telluride. Dealers are selling them way above sticker while the carbon i can get for 38k and the telluride ex 46k..the Mazda is way more fun to drive tho
I really like the color and the package itself but seems a bit pricy.
And I think the length is wrong. I think it’s still 199.4, not 192
Yes, that is true. The CX-9 is one of the longest offerings in the class, but Mazda is very clever in hiding it.
Thanks for pointing that out. Looks like we do have the wrong number there

The strange thing is that there is no air conditioner hatch in the last seat. Mazda What happens to you?
Does the CX-9 look good? Yes. Does it have a nicely finished interior? Yes. Does it handle better than the rest of the class? Yes. Is it a good three row crossover? No. A three row crossover with such a small cargo area, smaller than average third row and no vents for the third row is a deal killer if you need a CUV and plan on regularly using the third row. Seriously...no vents for that cramped third row!? This is a vehicle for someone that just wants a bigger CX-5 and a rare use of the third row. We looked at it and ended up ordering a fully loaded Telluride SX Prestige. Finally arrives at the dealer next week.
Agreed. And excellent choice on the Telluride. I got the 2020 Hyundai Palisade limited trim with awd . Its got alot of features than most high end European cars with alot less $$.
I just purchased a CX-9 Carbon AWD last week. I agree with your points.. but to me the CX-9 is essentially a spacious 2 row SUV... I only have 1 kid.. I don't need a third row but the two row SUV's were a bit cramped for my taste. I was shopping the Telluride EX with nightfall...but the CX-9 carbon was the exact same MSPR except I got it below MSRP and a really good lease rate... the Telluride was going for over MSRP. Both great vehicles and if you really need the third row then for sure get the Telluride or Palisade... but if you don't really need a third row the CX-9 is great. It even has some things that the EX Telluride trim didn't have at that price such as memory seats.
Just picked up my Carbon edition today it’s perfect for 4 passengers I will say I test drive all the competition including the telluride and palasade and I ended up buying the cx9 reason being fit and finish superior much quieter on the road and it’s a drivers car besides the fact it looks 10times better than the competition
To top it off I got 5000 off mrsp
I want Mazda to work on making more colors available, I'm not feeling this gray color. And the signature only comes in two colors. Wtf?
Towing capacity 3500 thats sad for vehicle this size. No third row rear air vents..
Carbon Editions are the best looking Mazdas. They should be the top trim. Signature chrome laden trim no longer = luxury since 2018. Getting MazdaUsa into 2021 is a a mission in frustration. The white interior has got 2 go. Saddle brown, red and black. Special edition medium blue.
I have a 2019 cx- 9 GT and the 3rd row is trash. Tight, no ventilation and the shape of the back makes it hard to see for the driver when looking thru the rear view. Other than that, it's a decent vehicle. After my lease, I'm going for the Yukon Denali
What is going on. 😊
Rear cupholders on the floor is a horrible idea and terrible placement. They become in the way and taking up space when not in use and it's incredibly unsanitary to put your drink on the floor where people may have to step over. Take notes from the enclave and put the cupholders in the doors. Simple fix, huge difference
What's with Mazda and those tiny head/brake lights 😂
