  • The CX-9 Signature is a midsize 3-row SUV that Mazda uses a different kind of philosophy on. Under the hood is a 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 250HP & is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Getting power to the ground is an all wheel drive system. On the outside you will find an all new grill for 2021, and new wheels. On the Signature trim you will be greeted to a high level of materials, all new infotainment system, and a high level of fit and finish. Is the 2021 Mazda CX-9 Signature a better SUV than a Toyota Highlander?

This is a rare find. I assumed all of their stuff was hecho en Mexico. Of course Toyota/Lexus hasn't taken a huge hit from making vehicles over here for a long time now (Canada/USA) ... But I'd consider made in Japan to be a selling feature still. Plus 1.

My wife and I have no children but we yet bought a 2020 Mazda CX-9 last year. It's the most comfortable and best driving vehicle we have ever own. Don't buy one if you need a true third row - I think it's bit too small for a large family. However, if you are a family of 4 or fewer people, it's the perfect car. BTW, I powder coated the wheels black and it looks very high end. I get lots of questions about it.

Hey Joe, I just bought a 2022 CX-9. I've spent time in the Palisade and I had an older Highlander. There is nothing wrong with those. However, if driving feel is important, the CX-9 is the best. Nimble, great steering and I feel no turbo lag. This is the road trip car! As for the Entertainment Unit, I love the wheel and buttons. Hated it the first week, but once you get used to it, its very easy and lets you keep your eyes on the road. No touch screens for me.
Thanks for all the great reviews!

I love my CX-9, I have the same colors as the video. It's beautiful, and it's sad they don't sell it anymore an they moved to the CX-90 for much higher price.
What _sold me_ on this SUV was the *handling* , it's smooth and it feels like you're driving a floating apartment due to all the vehicle's amazing interior features.

Hey Joe. I’ve been watching all your reviews, especially for this SUV segment. Originally I was interested in the Telluride, but no way I was paying Kia’s outrageous “market adjustment.” When car shopping became a necessity after my car was wrecked beyond repair, I decided on the 2021 CX-9 Touring w/premium package and that was the best decision I’ve ever made! For a single guy, it’s a great commuter and perfect for friends night out. The compliments I get are just too much to list! Appreciate all the hard work you and Lori put in

John, do you know the difference between the two trims? thanks!

    • @johndemotto
      @johndemotto 3 роки тому +1

@@justincase2830 I’ll try to keep it as short and sweet as possible. Touring is a 7 seater, FWD with optional AWD, synthetic leather, standard sound system with apple/android play, front heated seats, power liftgate.
The premium package is an extra $2K, well worth it in my opinion. It replaces the center row bench with 2 captain chairs, which now makes it a 6 seater. It also adds fog lights, extra usb ports, a wireless charger, power moonroof. The biggest difference and swayer for me is the upgraded sound system to a 12 speaker Bose. That’s some amazing sound!
The Signature has all the bells and whistles that Joe talked about. Also Sig is AWD only. Price difference from Touring to Signature is about $8-10K. Hopefully that helps and that I didn’t bore you too much

@@johndemotto Excellent explanation John and thank you for your time spent. I am researching the auto market in the macro sense and am trying to hold off on buying anything until I get done waffling on what I would like to drive without a bunch of headaches. So far the prices are giving me one and most likely won't get any better.I don't know the warranty on the Mazda, but that three year maintenance free on a couple of Korean models is nice also. As far as looks go, Mazda-CX-9 wins.

LOL! Thanks for another entertaining and informative review! I've been watching your channel since 2019 and love it! Thanks to Lori, and the other guys you've had on here (Tom and Vic) for all of their excellent camera work. I am a fan. Joe, I think the bottom spoke on some of Mazda's steering wheels is filled-in for the heated feature. I guess, that's where they put the wiring for it. I have a 2018 Mazda3 GT 6MT with the Premium Pack and a heated wheel, and my bottom spoke is filled-in. You did a review on the 2018 Mazda3 GT 5-door that didn't have the heated wheel, and the bottom spoke was hollow. Hope this helps. Thanks, again!

My company car is a 2018 signature. It’s an overachiever that for some reason doesn’t sell well. My wife has an Cadillac XT5 and the Mazda out handles it in a big way. I just turned 70k miles and had zero issues. I’ll be getting a new car soon and even with all the other options I may end up with another.

This made my short list. Beautiful car, good value, nice ride. Wish they’d kept the touchscreen. Got a great deal on an XT6, otherwise I might’ve taken this instead.

Mazda is all about safety, touch screen can be a distraction for the driver. Trust me the knob is safer and user friendly.

Zoom! Always liked their products. Those fake vent design elements are a real head-scratcher, across the vehicle lineups. I'm worried about the seat room on that 3rd row.decent numbers for a heavy boat...
Loving that interior! Although, that floating infotainment without touch, is a zonk. Lol, could always bring the hockey puck Peanut butter cup. Well, that sunroof is a downer lol. 'If you wash it, you can borrow it'. Surprising 3rd row. Being under 6', makes it doable, but I'd still take the $20...
On throttle is pleasant. I'm liking how the interior looks during a drive. Definitely behaves sportier with manual shifting. Good overall mid-size! On my list, for sure! Thank you, Mazda USA! Thank YOU, Lori, you definitely put the time in on all these quality videos!

I had a red 1991 Mazda RX-7 coupe in the early 2000s... such a cool little fun sports car. Regret getting rid of it. Got a Mazda 6 a few years later to keep the Zoom-Zoom spirit alive

Im a recently divorced dad of 3, traded in my 2020 2.0 accord 6 speed for a 2021 gt cx9 here in canada. I love it, feels like im driving a car, especially when put in manual mode feels like im driving stick. 99.9 of the times the 3rd row is down, test drove telluride, pilot, venza, rav4 tbey could not hold a candle to the cx9. Driving dynamics are excellent and for the price its an excellent value. Was considering the audi q5 but with all the features that tbe cx9 has would have came out close to 75g canadian for 55g canadian you can get the gt cx9. Not even the new mdx has ventilated seats or heads up display. And to tell you tbe truth it seems like acura copied the cx9 exterior and made it aggressive.

Great job on the review, just a couple of minor nitpicks - torque rating on premium fuel increases to 320 lb-ft, and if I'm not mistaken the seat material on the 3rd row is vinyl, not leather. Kinda makes sense with the most likely occupants being kids or dogs.

I currently have a 16' Soul Red GT, I do really think it's a very outstanding looking SUV, iits certainly more of a driver's car, I only needed a small suv so this worked out well, replacing it with a sportback this spring, suv craze is too much for me right now 😂 - honestly thou folks CX9 is hands down one the best/unique crossover out there no doubt!!

Great Vehicle. Price is reasonable. "Best Bang for Buck" at this size.
I would definitely consider this if I needed it. For my purposes I would be looking at a Mazda Miata, which is a totally awesome car as well. Mazda dependability is right up there with the best.
