I don’t see why Mazda keeps getting hate for not having a touch screen. It works better, and makes more sense. If you want a touch screen then the screen has to be placed close enough to be able to reach which also means the screen is placed further into your peripheral view. Also, using a touch screen tends to require more coordination than using a knob which more precisely navigates through icons. I recommend people who disagree to sit in something like a 2020 Corolla, then sit in something like a 2020 Mazda 3. You’ll see how putting a screen up close to the driver just so it can function as a touch screen is counter intuitive as less distracting Ux wise, and how it’s easier to adapt to a knob controlled infotainment system.
From someone with a 2020 corolla that I drive daily, the screen doesn't even distract you from everyday driving. At least they got physical buttons on its infotainment system, so your rarely touch the screen and secondly some of those controls are on the steering wheel too. The best comparison would have been honda civic ex model where everything is touchscreen. As for mazda I did test drive the mazda 3 GT and the know is very functional fine where it's placed.

what I like most in this 2021 Cx9 signature is the front and middle row seats. I was hoping the dashboard and steering wheel would be updated like the new Mazda 3.
I bought this year model in the grand touring trim and have fallen in love fast. You downplayed the Bose system, especially when you change the listening position to “driver”. It sounds really good overall. Its little 4 banger is a heart of gold and I love its growl; quiet and sedate when cruising, and aggressive when you get on it. When I took it on the test drive I was frankly shocked at how peppy it is, and I’d even describe the chassis as chuckable. Very happy that I went with this Mazda over the Highlander.
Its still one of the best out there.. the kind of car youll be proud to own.. on the transmission side, I think this 6 speed is just right as it will provide a more comfortable ride with less gears, and it has almost the same fuel economy with other cars which has more gears...
@@AUA-camChannelwithNoName yup, i don't need to tow anything and the minivan is way better than our suv on long trips and trips to the beach/park, camping, etc. can't wait to get rid of the suv for a car again.

It can get hard to tap a screen especially when you bounce over a pothole or the expansion joint on a freeway ramp and you hit the wrong song
Hey Sufyan! Love the videos and have been watching for a few years now. Would love if you would shoot in 4K to get the best look at the cars you review.
I would disagree 12:34, Mazda has mastered NVH in the affordable car market. Not a creek, not a rattle, sure the engine doesn't sound as good as a Toyota or Honda V6, but that isn't what you're buying this car for. I think this should be a top choice if families are looking for a three-row SUV where they may not necessarily need the three rows of space.
Some of us don’t need large cargo capacity. We are a little older and look for a reliable and comfortable ride. I had a car with a panoramic sunroof but, it always rattled. This is a viable alternative to an RX 350. Then, deposit the money I saved into my “Sugar Daddy” account. Keep up the good work.
I personally don’t think it needs more gears. I’ve owned 3 Mazda’s, all with the same transmission (including the 2.5 turbo on the cx5), and I think it’s actually quite nice. Sure, they could add more gears... but I think it’s good enough that the only way it could get even smoother would be with a DCT. I beat the shit out of my cars and haven’t found any issues with this six speed.
Noticed almost all the car reviewers reviewing top trim vehicles, can we do more videos on base or middle trims after all that's what most people will go for
I have a 2018 CX-9 GT and 2 1/2 years later, I’m still in love. The 2019’s got additional sound insulation and yet mine is still remarkably quiet, something my passengers have noted. One thing reviewers don’t talk about enough is Mazda’s reliability. Even Consumer Reports is starting to take note. 41,000 miles later, no repairs other than regular maintenance. No squeaks, suspension rattles, nothing. Drawbacks: not as spacious as other 3 row SUV’s (but still spacious); well insulated, but still slightly gritty sound from the turbo 4. Pluses: confidence inspired driving; quiet interior; bulletproof reliability; STILL looks good after being introduced in 2016. My recommendation: buy one. You will not be disappointed.
Wow, simply beautiful looking car, I love the design principles Mazda sticks by which ensures me that they are all about quality and drivers experience, rather than just another mainstream, over-done, over-priced vehicle with pretentious marketing tag line. It's a shame they don't offer this car in Europe. Any idea if they would be pushing this Mazda cx 9 to europe?
Personal opinion, i find the mazda 6 speed perfect for me, because i was used to driving 6 speed stick shift, and i dont mind the fuel consumption when driving, thats the reason i bought my cx5 versus the competition. I was avoiding all cvt and 8 speeds.
You need to know something about "traction" on Mazda SUVs. I have two 2021, AWDs...CX5 and CX9. Great SUVs but the OEM tires suck. I changed them with Vredestein Quatrac Pro; wet traction is phenomenal. Also the tires have less rolling resistance, hence MUCH smoother ride. Even my wife who is NOT a car person noticed the difference in the ride. ALSO, for those in snow country, the tires are Severe Snow Service Rated (mountain symbol on the tire). "NO" I don't work for Vredestein, I just live by something my late father taught me when I got my first car many, many years ago, "Never go cheap on tires or brakes, they are your life line." Keep your great videos coming!

I have a 2018 with 80k miles on it. Not a single problem. Just do your regular maintenance. Only mod I did was a cork sport intake and oil catch can to keep Carbon from building up in the intake side of the engine. Great vehicle!!!
I've seen reports of Mazda considering a turbo I-6 and that should require a RWD platform. I think both would suit a future CX-9 wonderfully, especially now that the 2.5T is in just about everything else in the lineup.
I bought a 2021 Mazda CX-30 Premium AWD for my daily driver a few months ago and it also has the light colored interior. I have thought about passing my CX-30 down to my daughter and upgrading to the larger CX-9 myself, but two things stop me from seriously considering the CX-9 instead- the dark headliner which makes a vehicle seem more closed in, and the fact the the CX-9 in this beautiful light interior has both the center armrest and the door armrest/handles in the white also. I find it pretty easy to keep my white seats from staining in my CX-30, but anything your hands regularly touch should not be in such a white color. I would expect the armrests in that CX-9 to be irreparably stained within 5,000 miles. The armrests in my CX-30 are brown, and they should have done the same here in the CX-9.
I don’t care about touch screen. And true touch screen is more Distracting then knob because must people do it when they driving instead when the stop or before heading somewhere
Yeah ! Glad I went with the limited palisade after really considering getting this one last year! The palisade has more space for my 3 kids and also better technology
Its amazing that they've been able to get such competitive MPG and power with the 6 Speeds over the years compared to many competitors using 7-9 speed DCTs. Im curious what they will do in the future in terms of the EV competition if they dont update their tranmissions. Mazda makes great transmissions and I dont think they buy them from aisin or ZF like most of the market, hope they're prepared to showcase something new soon.
Toyota's providing the EV components. Toyota and Mazda are in such a close partnership we might as well call them married at this point, their building a massive factory in the us together to make both their vehicles. They also share tech with one another, Mazda is the only reason new Toyota's started handling sooooo much better then they did 10 years ago. The Toyota Yaris 4 door sold in the USA is literally a re-badged Mazda 2 with a old Toyota engine dropped into it. The new Mazda 6 is apparently going into the entry luxury market with a starting MSRP around 34k and a top price expected to be around 50k, With that price bump its dropping FWD and moving to a RWD/AWD drive train, the 2.5L Turbo engine in the top trim is now going to be the base engine and the new top engine for the 6 is going to be that Turbo charged 3.0L inline 6 Toyota made for the Supra. On top of all that Mazda was named #1 in reliability of the last 3 years in a row, becoming the first brand to de-throw Toyota in over 28 years. Mazda dose not deserve to be slept on as much as it is.

While I love touch screens, by forcing me not to touch the glass, I don’t have to clean the damn thing every 2 days
Your channel is without a doubt the best car review channel on UA-cam! I've been watching for about 7 years and still watch every video 🙂 great job!
@alex completely agree. touch screens get covered in fingerprints and are always more distracting to operate. i prefer this setup too.
The knob is also much easier to use with gloves on, as winter has arrived. Touchscreens suck ass when used with gloves.
Try finding a radio station with the Mazda knob while driving. It's a terrible and dangerous experience. Touchscreens are simpler and safer.
@@haze1123 use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and play Spotify. Who uses the radio anymore? Boomers and basic white girls?
The next generation debuts mid 2023 as a 2024 and will be available with a straight 6. That will have the final word.
Wonder why it takes so long. I’m waiting to get a redesigned CX-9
6 cylinder flies in the face of exactly why they have the 4 cylinder last 5 years.... wake up
@@rl6210 GFYSYFPOS
@@LlyleHunter that's mature
@@rl6210Oooooo!
There’s not a four cylinder made that’s as balanced as a straight six. That’s why Mercedes has returned to producing them and BMW never abandoned them. So keep your coffee grinders. Straight sixes have never needed balance shafts to feel premium as better four cylinders have so go back to sleep.
I have 2017 CX9 and a 2017 X1, I always prefer driving the Mazda than the BMW, because it drives way nicer and smoother.
That’s a huge statement !
Thank you for the excellent reviews Sofyan! I bought a 2019 cx9 grand touring yesterday and love it! Keep up the good work!
Just bought the 21 signature used with 25k... My wife and i both agree its the best driving car we've had... that includes 4 Lexus's. Dont overlook this brand.. Theyre at the top of the heap, especially since they got out of bed with Ford.
I agree with Mazda's stance on touchscreens.
Works fine. No advantage to touch screen. Stays clean & clear
The current gen of CX-9 has always been my favorite SUV since it was launched in 2016!!! I enjoyed it so much after renting it twice. Look forward to getting my own when it's time!!!
what I like most in this 2021 Cx9 signature is the front and middle row seats. I was hoping the dashboard and steering wheel would be updated like the new Mazda 3.
Mazda CX-9 has always been my all time favourite Family SUV. What a beautiful car.
I agree, I would buy it over a Pilot.
Love your reviews buddy. I might buy this. It’s beautiful.
Would have liked a little more on the ride quality, and how good the lane-keep assist, cruise control and cameras work.
I own one it’s firm and supple and communicative ride and steering. Much better than Toyota Highlander
Its still one of the best out there.. the kind of car youll be proud to own.. on the transmission side, I think this 6 speed is just right as it will provide a more comfortable ride with less gears, and it has almost the same fuel economy with other cars which has more gears...
You are the best at car reviews indeed .
Can't make a cramped midsized crossover. Looks, Luxury, and fun to drive all come second to that. People who buy suvs want space first and foremost.
idk, here in Australia people absolutely love these. They sell far better than most competition
These are SUVs for people who have occasional guests rather than families. It’s more of a personal car.
One word: Minivan
@@AUA-camChannelwithNoName yup, i don't need to tow anything and the minivan is way better than our suv on long trips and trips to the beach/park, camping, etc. can't wait to get rid of the suv for a car again.
Kev, by the time Mazda threw out the Mazda5/MPV for the CX9 they had done their homework well and that's why it's more sought after than the MPV would ever have been.
I tested one of these last year. I actually got used to the dial during the test drive. Much easier to drop my hand down to the arm rest and play with the knob rather than reaching for the screen. It can get hard to tap a screen especially when you bounce over a pothole or the expansion joint on a freeway ramp and you hit the wrong song
I rented one for a week and after one day, I got pretty good at using the knob. My only complaint was a lot of cabin noise
You are an amazing reviewer.
Finally decided this is my next week. Will have one in the next month. I already own a cx-5 GT
Totally agree having used a Mazda 3 a cx 5 and a 6.
I’m happy with the 6spd auto in my 2017 6.. Wish the carbon edition came in other colors. No annoying stop/start on Mazda’s!
Yes, the carbon edition needs the addition of the pearl white, black or the Soul Red Crystal!
Noticed almost all the car reviewers reviewing top trim vehicles, can we do more videos on base or middle trims after all that's what most people will go for
Did you get a new camera. You look more HD. Nice.
Love my cx9 I think it sounds good when you gun it for a 4 banger.use premium fuel better for turbos.
Thank you. I so much enjoy your reviews.
It’s funny on the 2020 Mazda CX-9 it was a touch screen and it was a signature trim as well
I thought they didn’t do touch screen
waiting for the mazda in-line 6 cylinder to put in this thing :)
For me its the most beautiful suv
Love the interior
This Mazda is soo nice it almost feels like a luxurious car
Same thing with palisade and telluride! The Mazda and those two are the most luxurious in the segment!
I've never owned a mazda but I've always loved the gauge cluster
Great review. Do you mind me asking what kind of camera you use? Great look and very stable. Thanks.
one of the best cars of the world..!!
I love the dial.. I hate greasy passenger-fingers touching my screen in my current car lol
The machine gray paint is positively sleep inducing. The Soul Red is much better looking, especially on the CX9
I love the gray and can’t stand that feminine red
Those tires are phenomenal!
When I’m looking for a three row suv, I want space, luxury, tech, and a proper v6 engine and that’s why I would choose a palisade or telluride. Nothing else.
@@lastwhtknight3002 truly you don’t understand high quality. Sit in a telluride or palisade then talk to me, plus the Mazda isn’t a Benz, BMW, nor Audi.
@@bradleyscarreviews Mazda isn't trying to be a Benz, BMW or Audi though. I actually like Hyundai and Kia, but will always get a Mazda.
Get a minivan
@@DJPleasureSeekingMissle no
@@mpg65 why though. I don’t think you have sat in the telluride nor palisade.
Thanks. This is my star , the best VUS for me. Mazda and Kodo, a good work.
I love this car so much 😍
I used to be a huge Mazda fan because of what you got for the price. But, they’re severely lagging in everything now. No pano sunroof, no digital dash, small space... for this price I’m expecting luxury touches that just don’t exist here.
Competitors like Kia/Hyundai are knocking it out of the park.
This and the Pilot are my favs.
The pilot?!!! What? The telluride and palisade?
I own a Mazda 3, I actually love the way the heads up display isn't integrated with the front glass. It means its cheaper to replace a front windshield, and Is "dust proof" slide that covers the projector when parked. Excellent 2021 lines from front to back. I wouldn't be surprised to see there 2022 models jump price higher as they become more of a luxury brand.
Good review. My wife and I are going to look at a new CX-9 tomorrow. I’m ok with buying one.
The car is aging realy well for the style , even its a few year old and going to redesign soon it is still can fight with those 2020 and 2021 model from the other brand , The inline 6 will make this car win again
Mazda really packs in the fun for a great value. What's not to love.
I love that it doesn’t look that big compared to other vehicles with third row
Truly one of the sexiest large cars ever. This thing is gorgeous. Nothing else even comes close
ua-cam.com/video/e7Vv5akYEvw/v-deo.html👍🏻✌🏻
The dial takes a week to get used to and then it’s intuitive
Great Review!
I don’t care about touch screen. And true touch screen is more Distracting then knob because must people do it when they driving instead when the stop or before heading somewhere
So we should only change satellite radio stations while PARKED? That's ridiculous. Very easy to do with a touchscreen!
@@haze1123 touch screens are overrated! Use the steering wheel controls and rotary knob. It’s more intuitive.

Yeah ! Glad I went with the limited palisade after really considering getting this one last year! The palisade has more space for my 3 kids and also better technology
Much better warranty, too. You made the right choice.
@@aidensnow5017 with Mazdas handling capability and chassis/suspension design that sounds like a formula for success. I always felt like the 6 would really benefit from AWD, I really wanna see them bring back the Speed 3 AWD as well. Would make for a fantastic rally car

What sunglasses are you wearing?
I really like the look of this SUV, both inside and outside. If I were in the SUV market, this would definitely be on my list. Nice review, Sofyan.
I currently own 2 Mazda’s, can’t beat that styling and so fun to drive! My 2020 CX9 touring has a touch screen, wonder why they changed it? The touch screen does only work when the car is stopped or in park though.
15:34 Just hammering it in that school zone LOL that's true SUV driver style!
I wish the mazda 6 grand touring and up had the new 10.25 infotainment system.
Can you do remote start from the Key Fob or still App only?
I like the Mazda SUV's on the outside, and I love the premium style on the inside, but not the infotainment screen. Like mine surrounded by the dashboard.
Do all "Signature" trim models carry the signature badge in the rear ?
Asking because it's difficult to tell models apart from the exterior.

I don’t even have to watch to know this will be a great review. Keep it up!
I've been watching Sofyan for about 9 years now and I think I could do a Redline Review by now. Here's the recipe:
"I'm 5'7"
"There's a good amount of head space."
"Doors have a relatively solid sounding thunk."
"My phone has the latest iOS."
"These seats are good for fat Americans." or "You shouldn't get this car if you're fat."
"Technically"
"Basically"
Nothing is ever good enough or cheap enough.
Boom. You have a Redline Review.
