I've bought the krachai root down here in the Khmer store in Long Beach but my bottle is called pickled rhizome... i'm drooling over Om's recipe though!!!! thanks for posting
It's wonderful your mom shares her cooking art with us. Chaar leach is just a dream. I've been living in France since 1968 and I miss rea lkhmer food terribly much. May your mom lives very long and healthy. Many great thanks to her.
My grandmother would dream of having a garden as large as your mom's! We live in Massachusetts and my grandma can hardly wait for summer to bring out her basil and chili plants. I love these videos, it teaches me more about Khmer culture through just watching her cook :)

Great to see a new video! I loved that we got to see Mom's garden. Reminds me of my parent's garden, they grow all those vegetables too. I'm thinking i'm gonna start me a garden. Love the somlar koko recipe. Looks so good and really healthy with all the veggies. And you are looking mighty fit and healthy too. Thanks again!

thank you so much for uploadingthis vid. been waiting for it ;)... the leaves do seem like bitter melon leaves if u dont have them it can be replaced by the bittermelon itself make sure its cut into thin slices ...it needs bitter to balance out the flavors in the stew.. also i add the collard greens if i dont have the leaves
You make it look so yummy, I will have to try this,,the green beans has few names, Asparagus beans, yard long beans, string beans :). and Kabocha squash is called Calabasa..
You should add the measurement of ingredients on the screen all of your videos. That's nice, u live in CA but you have fresh vegetable better than me, even I live in Phnom Penh, I have no space to plant vegetable like yours. Your somlor Kor ko looks delicious 👍👍👍
Can I make it without por-hok and just substituted with fish sauce? I just don't like the smell and taste of por-hok. Btw it looks delicious! Love your mom's cooking so authentic!
Can you tell me where you live ?How come, you can grow all asian green vegetable, you are so lucky have mom cooked good dish for you all the time yummy!!! So tell us we can move to your state make order to pick up,Thanks mom we all love you .
Solita Stephanie Use what you have. You don't have to add all of the vegetables this recipe uses. Sometimes my mom uses more vegetables than this. Pick what you have available and use it. The most important vegetables would be ivy gourd, kabocha, and turkey berries (small eggplants) or large eggplants. Everything else will be the same.
my husband's favorite is the pumpkin to. I just don't know how to make this soup right. he's been asking me to make it but I think I can try out your mom's recipe. thanks alot

The leaves are called “the Hard On leaves”
