Hi, my parents are cambodian. My mom makes this noodle recipe, because it's my favourite one. I tried to learn from my mom, but I don't have a big memory in cooking. Your video is a support cooking for me🙏.
You've made this incredibly pleasing to watch. My in-laws are Khmer & I remember the first time I ever had this was an overwhelming trip for the tongue - I've since had the pleasure of preparing it. Just making kroeung has you realizing how much goes into preparing Khmer food; I suppose that's why we make big batches of it because it's the base of sooo many dishes. This was incredible. You made it look so yummy & my favourite version is the one with chicken in it [fresh mint from the garden is always a plus]. If you ever want to learn a culture & language, take a trip through the food. It's an incredible experience!
Thank you for taking the time to watch it. This dish is also special to me and I'm happy to share its preparation. I agree that the best way to learn about one's culture is to dive into the cuisine.
I just came back from Phnom Penh and ate this dish. It was unique, lighter compared to Malaysian or Thailand's noodles dishes. I really love how much herbs is used in this dish. Although I'm proud of my country (Malaysia) varieties of laksa and noodles, I think Cambodians should promote their food more to the world. Cambodia has so much potential. I already miss the taste of this dish already.
OMG. Thank you. I’ve been looking for a good recipe for this dish. This is the full ingredients, process, and presentation I’m familiar with growing up. Not the sloppiness and flavorless dish I’ve had in restaurants. Now i know the name of this dish. I clicked on the recommendation cause of the yummy looking thumbnail. Thank you!
So good specially in the cold weather too!!! Thanks for sharing your recipe. The prahok unused was homemade and it was straight 🔥🔥🔥 mmmm…. Gone run a repeat 🔁 thanks for sharing the authentic Khmer way my guy❤️🩸😊🩸😊
Wow, I can't thank you enough! I've been craving this for months but I unfortunately don't have access to this anymore, so the only solution is to make it myself. This is super easy to follow, I sincerely hope I can find all these ingredients where I am 😊
Half my family are Laos/khmer, I haven’t had this in ages, just got done making it tonight, Sooo… good!! Thank you so much for the instructions/videos 💙
This dish, in my experience, is served to guests when they come over your house...i really do love this dish as well! Thanks to you, i will be able to make this (even though i've seen it made so many times). Thank you!!🙏
Great video and tutorial on how to make this. My family and I love this soup. Thank you 🙏 so much for this beautiful done video. You make this recipe look so easy to make. 😊
My mom made the best version of it,I'll never Forget any of her Cooking, She made me all of my Favorite Khmer Dishes,Now that she's Gone to Heaven all there left is her Memories of how Great her Cooking was,..Well done 👏 👍,You did an Amazing Job..All of your Food looks Great & Delicious 😋..
I hardly write any comments but your video is so beautiful, calming, soothing and relaxing. Excellent step by step instructions. Great choice of music. Tastefully done. I would definitely cook this dish. I hope to see more of your videos.
Just discovered and subscribed to your channel. Wow, your Nom Banh Chok looks delicious, I was salivating just watching your video. Love the narrating and thank you for sharing the step by step process. I will have to go back and watch all of your videos.
Thank you so much! Nom banh chok is one of my favorites and I had a lot of fun making this one. I post new videos every Saturday, sometimes cooking and sometimes about plants. Take care and happy new year!
Thank you thank you thank you for doing what you so and sharing these recipes. You're channel is one of the best cooking channels I've seen in a while and all your dishes are authentic!!! Love that, keep it up 😊
My friend in high school was part Cambodian. This was one of my favorite foods to eat. Many years later I made it however instead of having that burst of refreshing flavor it was more mild. Maybe now that more versions of this recipe are available I'll be able to find an equivalent from that time 😀
Thank you for watching 😊 Asian stores should carry the yardong beans but regular green beans will work fine in this recipe too. If you have a Southeast Asian store near you, like a Thai, Lao, or Cambodian store, they will most likely sell the banana blossoms. Otherwise you can substitute with other crunchy vegetables too. Have a great weekend!
.."funky and unmatched"..😁 I would like to wish u all the best for the new yr, U have done much to calm my anxiety during this time of unrest; Every wk, I d see u doing wat u love, keeping close to nature, cooking ur fave food, loving ur dog,.. It comforted me so much!
Thank you Anna! I wish you all good things in the new year as well; This year's been a busy one but I'm so grateful to be able to share my love of food and plants with everyone. I'm happy that these videos can provide some peace and calm 😊 Yes, you sure can skip the herbal and medicinal qualities 😁 it's certainly a strong flavor and not for everyone. Who knows you, might like it. Have a great week!
I’m a big fan of lefties. Lol when you strain your noodles.. squeeze in in your palm .. more water comes out and your noodle will dry faster :) love your videos keep it up Paon!
You are amazing. I enjoy your videos so much, the editing and everything is on point. Its so easy following through the recipe, so relaxing to watch as well. Really easy to follow through step by step as you sectioned the instructions and ingredients step by step. You deserve more subscribers. I can tell you put in 100% of time into your videos. I can't wait to try this recipe out! Thank you so much. 😁😁
Thank you so much for this video, I moved away from my parents to stay with my husband and have zero cooking skills. I missed eating this at home and I am going to try this!!
@@ThunThunChannel there're different types of fish sauses and coconut cans. Some people like to look at what fish sause did you use. It's okay, I hope you enjoy your weekend too.

This looks epic! It reminds me of a type of Medan Laksa dish that is very fragrant, not the oily type that's drowned in heavy coconut milk.
It's one of my favorite noodles dishes lots of herbs and textures in here. have a good weekend!

I love to eat too!
Kinda crazy that I cannot find that mud fish sauce anywhere in Thailand. We are so close and can't find key ingredients!
It’s called Pla Ra in Thai, which can be found in most markets. This will be the mud fish sauce equivalent.
Haven’t had this since my mom passed away😢

Thank you. The ingredients are in the video and also the full list is in the description area of this video. Please enjoy.
My mom asked me to make it but I forgot and if she found out that I did, she will kick my ass so thank you
The video just way too slow, no patience.
Videos are too slow… need to get to the point already.
This is not like other cooking channels. If you’re looking for something faster, watch UA-cam shorts or TikTok
It is recommended to slice the banana blossoms *SUPER THIN*, because it's a little bit tough, and will just taste better.
